This is a rare and beautiful stone Farmhouse with Private Pool and is situated just outside the medieval village of Correns amid 10 acres of private grounds with Rosemary and wild Thyme abound. The villa is built "hacienda style" around a courtyard with the Pool the centre focal point. It is in a very quiet and peaceful location and there are many provencal market towns a few miles away to while away the time. La Toscane has all Modern Amenities and Comforts. The Cuisine D'Ete with Deluxe Weber Barbecue provides the best in Al Fresco Dining and there is Night lighting surrounding the Villa and Pool to create a lovely atmosphere. There is an additional fridge for wines and beers as well as having a traditional Pizza Oven for the adventurous. SKY TV is available as well as Internet WIFI throughout the house.. La Toscane is ideal for Small and Medium size groups up to 8 persons and all the Bedrooms have en-suite facilities.

Please note that there are many ways to cross the Channel, besides having to go through Calais. Driving through Rural France is a delightful experience; alternatively, there are regular flights to Nice, Marseille and Nimes as well as the Eurostar from St Pancras direct to Marseille.

About Peter Hobbs (Owner)

We have been renting out La Toscane since we bought the property 17 years ago. Peter comes from a Hotel and Whisky Distilling background having lived in the Highlands of Scotland in the shadow of Ben Nevis. Previously, I lived in Vancouver, British Columbia and think this city ranks as one of the most beautiful in the world. Margaret is a free-lance artist and was head of an Art department at a well known school in Edinburgh. Needless to say, We love Travelling, enjoy Sailing on the West Coast of Scotland and enjoying Skiing in the Alps.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

La Toscane is a relatively large property and as such can be rented out in various configurations. We have the possibility of either Closing a Wing for smaller parties or Opening up Bedrooms according to our guest's needs when it comes to larger families or groups.

Please note that our change-over days throughout the Summer are on a Friday, but we do try to be Flexible whenever possible.

  • Description of sleeping capacity: The Villa is very Flexible catering up to 4 Persons in the Two bedroom Apartment in the West Wing of the Farmhouse Villa and can accomodate additional Persons in any of the four bedrooms in the Villa's East Wing. Rental of Accomodation in on an exclusive basis. (No other paying guests during the rental period.) The Owners reside in an Independant 1 BR Apartment . There are no other paying guests during a rental period.

Notes on accommodation: This is a large property. The rooms are very comfortable and such is the lay-out that both bedrooms are quiet and private and well away from the neighbouring room. Outside: The Swimming Pool is 14M x 5.5M and is equipped with a child safety Pool Cover. Positioned in the middle of the Courtyard, it is a focal point. The Barbecue and Cuisine d'Ete are adjacent. The Lawns surrounding the pool are automatically watered each evening around 11:00pm. Utility Room: Utility Room with Washing Machine and Tumble dryer located in Garage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Electricity, Bedlinen, Towels and the local Taxe de Sejour are included. (Please bring own pool towels). Maid Service and Private Cook available on request and with prior notice. Other: Besides the Barbecue Centre and Cuisine d'Ete, there is a storage room for garden furniture and seat cushions as well as housing the independant Wine and Beer Fridge.

A Superb Holiday Experience

Although it has been several months since our visit to La Toscane, the fantastic memories we have of the experience has left me compelled to write what will be my first ever travel review.

Over the past few summers, we have become seasoned visitors to France for our family holidays. We are a family consisting of 2 hard to please 40 somethings and three even harder to please boys aged 17,14 and 8 years.

From the time of booking, we were made to feel at ease due to Peter’s (the owner) friendly and helpful communications.

On the day of arrival we were able to easily find La Toscane and were warmly welcomed by Peter and Margaret, who showed us around the beautiful property. It really is stunning and no matter how good the photos appear on the website, they cannot quite do it justice.

La Toscane is a substantial villa with a superb pool at its centre. The property itself is approximately 1.5 km out of the typical French village of Correns and surrounded by unspoilt countryside. Correns contains a small but well stocked shop, local Co-op wine store (superb), Tabac, bar, bakery, art gallery and a few other amenities.

La Toscane is well appointed and maintained to a high standard. The rooms are ample and tastefully decorated. All have access to the inner section containing the pool. The pool itself is a joy. It is large and very fastidiously well maintained. The pool is bordered by manicured grass areas, with covered patio areas for al-fresco dining and sun loungers. The top of the range gas BBQ was easy to use and gave superb results. The villa was lovely and clean both inside and out.

Peter and Margaret are the prefect hosts. They were on hand for advice and recommendations and went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely stay, however they were never imposing in any way. We were made to feel that the villa was for our exclusive enjoyment. They are genuinely great people and it was very difficult saying goodbye at the end of the week.

We found plenty of things to do in the local area – some lovely restaurants, nice days out (a particular favourite was the local river) but in the main we wanted to stay around La Toscane soaking up the relaxing ambience and the odd game of ping pong.

As you can tell, we loved it and are looking forward to returning in 2016.
