'Caswell' is a delightful, recently refurbished welsh stone cottage just minutes from the Coastal Path in Solva, one of Pembrokeshire's most picturesque villages. The cottage comprises of a comfortable living room with original wood beams and stone floor and a fully equipped kitchen/dining room downstairs. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (2 x double, 1 x single) and a large modern back bathroom, all tastefully decorated with bespoke soft furnishings. Outside to the back of the cottage is a pretty garden and patio area with off-road parking for one vehicle and additional roadside parking at the front. It is within easy reach of Solva Harbour with its tea rooms, pubs and shops, whilst the village is an ideal base from which to explore the coastal path, fantastic local beaches, stunning coastline and sites of historic interest such as nearby St Davids (3 miles away) and the natural beauty of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and its wildlife.

Relaxing weekend

Just returned with my husband and our 9 year old lab from a wonderful long weekend. We have stayed around West Wales many times but 'Caswell' is a wonderful cottage in Solva. It is decorated to the highest standard with wonderful soft furnishings, with a well equipped kitchen.

Lovely coastal paths for walking and a great selection of places to eat.

Didn't need to speak to Jacqui the owner until we were leaving but we wanted to check to book for next year. Thank you again for a great weekend.

Cosy cottage with all new comforts

So easy to find and great communication with Jacqui the owner.

Caswell was perfect for us and our dalmation Lottie.

Step out of the door to a very quite road within 1 min you are on the coastal path views of the harbour and a 10 min walk to lower Solva. Great for a quick dog walk and a pint in the Harbour inn. Really friendly and so welcoming to our dog who had the run of the bar ideal.

Caswell is bright and spacious lovely back garden and a drive which was helpful to unload through the back door.

Lovely to have new appliances a pleasure to cook although we could recommend the Cambrian Inn lower Solva lots of choice in St Davids to only 5 mins drive.

Go explore its a beautiful part of the country.

Just try not to book when we intend to return 😄

Lovely stay at Caswell..

The cottage was spotless, very comfortable and well equipt. We would have expected a music system or radio available but luckily had brought our own docking station...we do love music on! There were a couple of items that would have been useful in the kitchen such as a casserole dish, seasoning and more large bowls but otherwise everything was of good quality.

The beds were really comfortable and linen beautifully fresh, bathroom spacious and beautifully clean.

the location was perfect for setting off to walk on the coastal path and very quiet. We love Solva and this was an ideal spot, easy to walk down the path into the town.

The owner was super..there was one small issue with the heating which was resolved immediately.

Overall it was perfect for our stay and I would definitely recommend the cottage and stay again.Many thanks

Perfect, stunning, homely cottage in best location

This was our first stay at Caswell, but certainly will not be the last. There were 4 of us and our Labradors so with the off street parking and garden, it was safe to unload each time we came back! The cottage was such a delight to stay in, the beds were so comfortable which is so rare to find! The kitchen had everything and all brand new, so lovely and clean! Constant hot water made such a difference as we all like deep baths! We ate in more as were so happy to be back at Caswell. We went across the road to get fresh Lobster and Spider crab from Willie & Jan, the Wood fired Fired Pizzas from the George were really good and our favourite place to eat out was The Cambrian. We had a very active holiday as the weather was great and with it being quite windy the surf was amazing, we went to Nolton Haven and Newgale beaches, 5 mins away, also we took our Kayaks and paddled round to Pointz Castle beach which is a very private beach. The dogs had lovely walks everyday along the coastal path, which you get to right outside Caswell. Walking down to the Harbour is only a few minutes and great for a coffee or ice cream from the Harbour Cafe. Good crabbing at high tide too. We were lucky enough to meet Jacqui when we were leaving and she was lovely, her communication is wonderful, she was so accommodating, left us goodies when we arrived so we could have a Welsh cake and a drink when we arrived! We stayed for 2 weeks and after the first week, Jaqui offered to come and change our beds! So thoughtful, but we just washed them ourselves as there is a washing machine and a line to dry them in the garden. Loads of outside space to store all our bits, 4 bikes, 2 double Kayaks and all the outdoor gear for the beach. Outside tap was great for washing wetsuits. Jacqui has really thought of everything in refurbishing Caswell as it felt more of a home than a holiday let. The bathroom is huge and has a great shower, really efficient heating and we want to come back in the winter, so we can have long cold walks and then come back and light the woodburner in the Sitting room! We cannot recommend Caswell enough. We didn't really want to right a review as we would rather other people didn't know about this gem, as soon it will be booked up 24/7! We have booked again for next year and we will also come down in winter as it is going to be our getaway home. Thank you for everything, this has been our best Welsh holiday in 10 years.

Great cottage & superb location

I can only endorse what other reviewers have stated. The cottage has been really well renovated with all mod cons but has retained a homely, cosy feel. A perfect location for evening strolls along the coastal path. Stunning views from up there and lots of wildlife. Quiet but not too remote with several eating places (I recommend Café 35) and a few shops within a few minutes walk. The cottage had most of the kitchen equipment we needed but we did eat out a fair bit. The bedrooms are a decent size with plenty of cupboard space and the bathroom is huge. We did not have any mobile phone signal (not always a bad thing) but it was quite strong just up on the coast path literally a few hundred yards away. The cottage has WiFi so keeping in touch with home wasn't a problem. Plenty of parking outside the property or off road to the side of the cottage. A wonderful base to explore all of Pembrokeshire from. Look forward to a repeat stay.

Superb location. Beautiful cottage.

The cottage is in an ideal location. So close to the coast path with easy access to Solva harbour and main street with a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants and some gift shops. The Cambrian is good for food. Also easy access from the cottage to Bay View Stores and Post Office which has just about everything you need. Very friendly staff too.

Cottage is very well appointed, well decorated and the kitchen has an excellent selection of kitchen implements. Comfortable bedroom and large bathroom. Nice enclosed garden with garden furniture. Could not fault the cottage or its location and would definitely return.

Coast/Beach:

Within 2 minutes walk of the world renowned Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and Solva harbour, a vast expanse of sand at low tide and a bustling quay for crabbers and sailors at high tide, or those just wanting a drink and watch the world go by. The Blue Flag beaches of Whitesands (5 miles) and Newgale (4 miles) are within easy distance for surfers, bathers or just sun bathers, along with numerous other hidden coves and bays.

Travel:

Solva is easily accessible by road, 12 miles along the A487 from Haverfordwest, which also provides regular, hourly buses. The nearest train station is also at Haverfordwest. Use of car is recommended if you want to go further afield.

Distances:

Caswell is located at the top of the village of Solva. St Davids, Britain's smallest city with its historic cathedral, and bijou shops is just 3 miles away. The towns of Haverfordwest and Fishguard are 12 and 15 miles away respectively.

Further Details:

The coastal path which runs through Solva attracts walkers from all over the world. Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts have numerous locations to visit nearby, including the islands of Ramsay and Skomer. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of activities locally such as horse riding, kayaking, rock climbing, surfing and windsurfing.

Nearby St David's has a local supermarket and high street banks.
