Updated: 21-Nov-2016
Studio Apartment in Samoens, Haute Savoie - Situated 2 mins Walk to Centre of Village, Free Ski Bus

The apartment block is situated only a few strides from the local bars, shops and restaurants where the charm of this lovely French village can be warmly felt. The studio is well equipped for 4 people. There is ample private off street parking and a ski locker by the entrance. The mountains are superb for walking, biking etc in the summer and the area for skiing in the winter is vast with easy access to mountains. The village has not lost its charm over the years and offers a great place to eat, try the local wine and practise your French. There is a weekly market selling good food etc. Lots for children to do with a large outdoor swimming pool situated in the park. Its even got a golf driving range! Canoeing, white water rafting, biking, walking, rock climbing and many more activities for the summer and of course the winter skiing, crosscountry skiing, ice skating and husky sledge riding add up to a great area for an adventure family holiday. About the Owner

We're a "just-married" French couple in their late thirties/early forties. We actually got married in Morillon in June 2012, that's a 5-minute drive from Samoëns.

Thanks for the lovely stay in your apartment! Everything was wonderful, including the snow :).

The location was fantastic and it was so nice and quiet I slept really well. And the wifi was excellent which was fantastic because I had to work one day!

Well we wanted walking and biking and there was certainly lots of that and so easy to access. Weather was mixed but village community was warm and great. Lovely to be able to sit on balcony for lunch and watch the world go by. Many many thanks.

Wonderful little studio in an ideal location

This is a lovely well kept property which has a very homely feel to it. The apartment has everything you need to have a fantastic stay in Samoens. We particularly appreciated the balcony with a fantastic view, wifI, TV and Nespresso. The studio is also very close to the town centre..about 5 minutes walk. I found the information provided to us very helpful. I had very good communication by phone, text and email with the owner which made the arrangements very easy and all queries had a prompt reply. Certainky hope to stay here again.

This is a really nice apartment, light and airy. Love the wood flooring. The Apt was very well equipped, and it was handy having the internet .It is approx. 3-4 minutes walk to a ski-bus pick-up point for the GME. Once I was in touch with Tanguy (the owner) the payment process was simple and straight forward.

I was e-mailed full instructions for the apartment and also comprehensive directions to find it.

The village centre is a matter of a couple of minutes stroll.

I had a great stay , and I'm going back this coming March

Great apartment

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here so much last year we decided to return this year and weren't disappointed. Extremely helpful owners and the studio provides everything you need. Also great to have a parking space right outside to save carrying luggage and skis a long way. Will definitely book again if we return to Samoens.

What can I say? Perfect little haven for a saisonnaire to enjoy a break with a visiting partner!

Everything was so handy ...... Sherpa supermarket, town centre, lifts....and although I had a car it wasn't necessary. Studio was well equipped with great internet access and British TV. Bed settee was super comfortable Shower was excellent with lashings of super hot water and great pressure. Owner was always contactable and most helpful.

So perfect for us our 9 day stay was extended by another week! would definitely stay there again.

Fabulous apartment in great location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely apartment in a perfect location with a well equipped kitchen, modern shower room and comfy beds. It's quite cosy for a family of 4 but plenty big enough if you're going to be out all day skiing or sightseeing.

Just a 2 minute walk to the pretty village centre of Samoens with plenty of shops and restaurants. The apartment block has it's own car parking and its a short drive to the main ski lift that has loads of free parking, we really enjoyed driving to the ski lift instead of waiting for buses or walking in ski boots!

Super helpful owners who provided really great directions to the property as well as a wealth of information about both the property and the area. Highly recommended, will definitely be booking again if we return to Samoens.

Superb studio

  • 5 of 5

Superb studio. The comfiest sofabed I have ever slept on and great quality pillows and quilt. Although compact, the studio has everything you need and is really well equipped. Great position to town, 1 mins walk and only 2 mins walk from bus stop, that run frequently. Samoens village was really quaint and has some great restaurants. Would return again

From the Owner

Because it's very well located, calm, charming, and it enjoys a nice view on the Criou. We just love this valley and especially the charming village of Samoëns. It's a typical Savoie village, which is quiet and lively at the same time. The ski domain is quite big, and the summer activities are numerous.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Geneva at 70 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Samoëns Practice (Lac aux Dames) at 2 Kilometres Nearest Train : Cluses at 18 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Le Monde à l'Envers at 200 Metres Nearest Ski : Samoëns at 1 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Samoens is approx 50 mins drive from Geneva airport or 8hrs drive from Calais. Many airlines now fly to Geneva from many parts of the U.K. The drive from Calais is all motorway except for the last 12 miles so making it an easy access. There are many good cheap hotels along the way. Hiring a car in Geneva airport is a good way to travel to Samoens from the airport and driving is good even when it's snowing.

There are plenty of villages and towns of interest and charm within easy driving of the village of Samoens. The mountains area is vast and is easy accessed by foot from the village. In the winter free ski buses travel to nearby villages all throughout the day.

Further Details:

The village of Samoens has all you could need in the way of local supermarkets, restaurants, bars, places of interest and a charm of its own. The flowers in the summer are superb and the walk down by the river is relaxing and interesting. Locals relax and cool down in the large outdoor swimming pool, situated in the lovely park area near to the centre of the village. We have been going to Samoens now for 25 years and we are always finding something new. Why not hire a guide and walk the mountains and take in the breathtaking views or just sit in the square testing out the local wine. Summer or Winter it's got it all and you just cannot help falling in love with Samoens.

From the Owner

Our studio's best feature is most probably it's location. It's a 2-minute walk from the center of the village where bars and restaurants are, yet it's very peaceful and quiet. It's also 2 minutes from the free ski bus stop. It enjoys very high speed internet (300 hundred meters from the telecom building)!
