The Old Post Office is a detached cottage with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (including a wet room) The cottage was recently renovated with accommodation for 5 people and a baby.. It has a spacious open plan living area with a log burning stove, large modern kitchen with lots of natural light, plus a utility room. Downstairs has slate floors with underfloor heating throughout. The log burning stove in the old chimney is a lovely extra. The cottage garden over looks the River Fowey with outside seating and a BBQ. There is a parking space next to the cottage. Furnished in a modern but cosy style.

Coast/Beach:

There are several beaches nearby -

At low tide the village enjoys a sand bank in the middle of the river Fowey, perfect for a walk but please watch for the tide coming in!

Ready Money beach Fowey - Sandy with a swimming platform and ice cream van! 15min drive.

Polkerris beach - sandy with pub, restaurant and cafe. Water sports available from the beach, great for swimming. 10 min drive and a short walk from the car park.

Par Beach - a long sandy beach great for a walk. 10 min drive.

Travel:

To enjoy the Old Post Office you preferably need a car unless you are an avid walker!

Buses do run to the top of the village about 1 mile from the cottage, and you can get to Fowey and St Austel.

The mainline train station is Par with service to London Paddington about four times per day. Please note taxis do not wait at this station but can be arranged to meet you.

Newquay airport is 40 mins drive. Exeter airport is 80 min drive. Both Newquay and Exeter airports offer car hire service.

Distances:

Fowey is 3 miles, Lanydrock is 6 miles, Charlestown 6 miles, Bodmin Moor approximately 10 miles, Truro ( the County city ) 20 miles. The Eden Project 6 miles, The north coast and Padstow is 40 mins with Rick Stein's seafood restaurant. The Hall Walk is a beautiful route along the Fowey river estuary taking both Fowey ferries and pubs at both ends.

Further Details:

The cottage is located on the Saints Way, its about 50 min walk to Fowey where you will find independent butcher, baker, fishmonger, banks and chemist. Self hire motor boats, skippered fishing boats, sailing, canoeing, crabbing for children are all available in Fowey and lots of different eating and drinking establishments.

Changeover Day:
Arrival time is 4.30pm with departure at 10am. During the peak weeks, arrival is on Friday but out side of these weeks we can be flexible.

Notes on prices:
Price is for 7 night stay. Short stays are available outside of the main season for a minimum of 3 nights and priced at 75% of the weekly rate.
