This fully refurbished old fisherman's cottage has lost none of its character. Its facia is granite, it has a stable door which opens onto Bunkers Hill, a quiet, quaint old cobbled street, (a NO through road for vehicles). The cottages central location is perfect for exploring old St Ives with its narrow streets scattered with many art galleries, great restaurants, shops and pubs. Or, if you are a beach bum, take your pick from our award winning sandy beaches....all within a stones throw from the cottage!

About the Owner

Originally from the 'black country' I had always wanted to live by the sea and together with my wife and twin girls we moved to St Ives over 30 years ago.

We were lucky enough to buy 18 Bunkers Hill and I now have the opportunity to share this lovely old fisherman's cottage with you.

Superb little Cornish cottage!!

Great little cottage, well placed in St Ives just off the main shopping street and near to the harbour. The cottage has bags of character and everything you need for your stay (wifi & even had a pint of milk waiting in the fridge) Would highly recommend this as an ideal base for Cornwall/ St Ives. The property was very well maintained and ideal for a couple or family of four. Once again thanks Julie. Regards Joe & Sian

Superb cottage in central St Ives

We are regular visitors to St Ives and we like to be located centrally so we don't have to drive or walk into town each day. The cottage is located at the top of Bunkers Hill and unlike the adjacent Digey doesn't seem to get a lot of footfall through it so its nice and quiet. Cottage is compact (to be expected given its type and location) and is very well appointed with everything you need including a useful shed at the rear for wetsuits and beach stuff. No bath but a good shower and the attic room is a nice relaxing place for the kids away from the adults. 4 beaches within a few minutes walk, only the beach next to the station is further away. Recommended.

Perfect cottage. Perfect holiday

We've stayed in a few cottages in St Ives but this has been our favourite so far. A beautiful modern dwelling it had everything we needed. It's in a fantastic location on Bunkers Hill and two minutes from beaches and the middle of St Ives and bars and restaurants. You have everything you need for your stay and the milk in the fridge was much appreciated. Our favourite room was the attic - a perfect place to chill out in the evening with a glass of wine and a lovely retreat for our boys after a long day at the beach. I had many emails with the owners of the cottage as we had to change the date of our holiday due to a family bereavement. They were so professional and I really appreciated their kindness. We'll definitely book again.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

This is a lovely cottage in the heart of St.Ives and literally 1 min from the harbour.

The cottage itself is very nicely furnished and and is kept immaculate. It is very well equipped with everything you need, including TVs in bedrooms and the lovely converted attic room which is a great hanging out room for children.The owners are great people to deal with and the whole experience was a pleasure.

There was also some fresh milk for us in the fridge which was a nice touch to enable a nice brew after a long drive.

We have very high standards and this cottage delivered. I can't fault it in any way.

I had always wanted to live by the sea and in my youth had previously come to St Ives to work the summer seasons..... it made a lasting impression on me. If you have been lucky enough to visit St Ives, especially when the sun is shining you'll know exactly what I mean........when you turn that first corner, catch a glimpse of the sea and look down on St Ives bay - it takes your breath away! The location of the cottage couldn't be better - within the conservation area right in the heart of the old town. The cottage is situated in Bunkers Hill, a lovely old cobbled street (a no through road for traffic) and is possibly one of the most photographed streets in St Ives.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Beaches, five in total are all within walking distance of the cottage. The closest being the surfing beach of Porthmeor, a one minute walk away. The furthest being Porthminster beach, an approximate 10 minute walk.

Coastal walks can be continued on from either Porthmeor onto Zennor and from Porthmeor to Lelant and beyond.

Travel:

St Ives is approximately a 45 minutes drive from Newquay Airport.

A taxi from the St Erth train station (London Paddington to Penzance main line service) to St Ives is approximately a 10 - 15 minute journey.

St Ives train station is approximately a 15 minutes walk or a 3/5 minute taxi journey.

St Ives is often described as Cornwall's 'Jewel in the Crown' and is one of the UK's most sought after holiday destinations.

With its temperate climate and with not one but five golden sandy beaches, clear Atlantic waters and fabulous coastal scenery, it can't fail to impress. It's narrow streets, fashionable shops, restaurants, bars and cafe's all make St Ives a must visit destination.

For Art lovers St Ives is host to the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the Leach Pottery as well as over 25 commercial art galleries. There is also the St Ives School of Painting for those who wish to participate themselves. Classes can be booked in advance.

For those who wish to explore further, St Ives is well positioned with the north and south coast only a twenty minute drive apart. It is very easy to explore the very different scenery of Cornwall, coastal and inland, without having to travel very far.

Changeover is usually Friday. However, flexible shorter breaks may be available out of season.
