Villa in L'Estartit, Costa Brava, Spain - Ideal For 2 Families Sharing, Great Location For Relaxing Or Activity Holidays

Now with WI-FI !!! Self catering villa with panoramic views towards the sea. Upstairs the Master bedroom leads onto the balcony where you can breakfast as the sun rises over the sea and dine as the sun sinks. Balcony also accessible from upstairs lounge area. Also upstairs is a twin bedroom, a full bathroom with shower over bath, the dining area and a separate kitchen. On the ground floor is another double bedroom overlooking the pool and garden, a full bathroom with shower over bath and a large additional lounge area with a double bed settee and additional built in seating area. The downstairs lounge has doors that fully open to the garden with a couple of steps onto the large terrace and 8m x 4m pool with Roman steps. The garden is fully enclosed with grassed areas around the pool. Spain's famous Medes Isles which are great for diving can be seen from villa, they are 3 km away, 10min by car. There are a number of world class golf courses 10min away and there are numerous coves and historic sites.

Why Curtis x Suzannah Wheatley chose Baix Emporda

We holidayed in this area with our parents annually when we were children. We returned with our own children in the year 2000 and after having travelled to many places around the world we still found this area of the Costa Brava very hard to beat. The scenery and beaches are stunning. The diving and snorkeling are really good and one of the best golf courses in Europe is in girona. It is a very short flight from the uk and available from many airports. As soon as we had the opportunity we looked for a property and the views from this house sold it to us.

What makes this villa unique

We have added a good sized private pool and also bi folding doors to the garden room to bring the outside in and provide needed shelter from the hot summer sun whilst still enjoying the fresh air and views.

Geat House Great Location

We spent 11days in this house , late May early June 2010.

House was clean modern & well equipped. We went with our two boys ( 3 & 6) and they absolutely loved it.

Pool is a good big size, and it gets the sun all day long, so although its not heated its always a good tempreature.

The house is really orientated for upstairs living.

Kitchen & two bedrooms are upstairs,, and fantastic big balcony with great panoramic views. Ideal for BBQ's and watching the moon rising of an evening.

Plasma screen TV in downstairs living room is great , as when it gets too hot for the kids , you can relax by the pool & they can relax by the TV.

Table football , Table tennis are bonuses.

Local supermarket has everything you could need, including the Irish Times (very impressed) and a good range of quality Spanish wines.

We will return,,,,

best holiday

we went to this house in mid september last year, and have to say it was one of the best holidays ever. My two boys 12 and 15 and my little girl 4 thoroughly enjoyed the holiday.

There was a little beautiful park opposite the house which my little girl loved with lush green grass and trees, so i was able to relax an enjoy a book while she played in the park and when she wasn't in the park we took advantage of the pool and surroundings of the house .

The boys loved the table football and table tennis in the evenings . And as for me I loved breakfast on the balcony overlooking a stunning view, And bbqs in the evening as the sun set it was stunning.

We found the villa very clean and well catered for during our stay.

We are so impressed with this house we have already booked for next year, can't wait.

I would well recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a relaxing fun family holiday.

One to avoid

I originally wrote this review back in October following a week's stay in this villa however it was not posted as the owners contract with Owners Direct expired at the same time and they chose not to renew it in what I can only believe to be an attempt to avoid a damning review. The passage of time has meant that I have toned down the comment but the fact remains that a long awaited family reunion was spoiled by the poor quality of accomodation provided. The property requires major refurbishment and there's no indication in this new listing that that has been done. The owners declined the opportunity to respond to our comments and the lengths they have gone to to avoid a negative review speak for themselves. I've learnt over time that positives can be found in almost any situation so I'll start by saying that the view from the balcony is fabulous. The listing description is accurate re location, layout etc. You can even deduce from the photos that the fixtures & furnishings are rather dated. You don't see, however, how tatty & shabby everything is. You don't see all the holes in the walls where fixtures have been removed, the cracked floor tiles, broken cooker hood, cracked wash basin, light fittings without covers, windows that won't close & some that won't open & dirty with it. The situation wasn't helped by the fact that we found the villa to be not only shoddy but dirty on our arrival. We eventually learnt that the Agent hadn't opened the shutters whilst he cleaned nor had he moved furniture but the most surprising discovery was that the previous occupants had been the owners themselves so all the crumbs under the chairs hadn't been cleaned away by them either! Neither did they think it necessary, despite the fact that paying guests were arriving immediatley afterwards, to fix the incessantly dripping tap or any of the other items in the property that were either broken or not working properly. We gave the Agent a list of 20 such items. Finally, whilst the location description is accurate it is missing one important detail - the villa is situated next to the main rubbish bins for the large development behind and so cars are constantly pulling up & every few minutes you hear the sound of breaking bottles. This is in addition to the inexplicable and bizarre music audible 24/7 from the seemingly deserted building in front of the villa.

Owner's Response: Words fail us as to what to really say to this review. We have had many happy clients since 2005 when we first started renting it out. Obviously we are sorry to hear that any one would have a bad holiday anywhere. We take a great pride in our house. If anyone wants the list we will email it to you and address each situation now (2016). As they said it does look as advertised so you can judge for yourselves whether it is dated. We do maintenance and upgrading at the end of every season including the repainting of the interior. These were the last of our clients for the season and nobody else had complained or pointed out any of the issues raised. They obviously did not affect their holidays. It is impossible to keep any property 100% perfect all of the time due to wear and tear. You cannot plan for a crack in a sink, a broken window handle, a broken light cover and you certainly can't always replace such immediately. We do annual maintenance to try and alleviate issues but they are inevitable. The agents we use apologized for missing the cleaning under the sofa and went immediately and corrected the situation. We ourselves had noted a couple of points however and had already had some of our windows and shutters measured for replacement which have been done now. The tap just needed turning off properly. We noticed the sink crack this had to be ordered and could not be replaced immediately, but was done during the winter maintenance. We assure everyone that if anything is pointed out that affects a holiday of a client it is sorted as soon as is physically possible. In Spain the system is really good for recycling x bins they are emptied every day and kept very neat. They do not affect the view and cannot be seen from the garden; we find them very convenient to keep our own house rubbish free. Unfortunately having booked very late in the season, mid October, there is always a risk with the weather; which is why our prices are so low for that time and the weather was unusually cold at that time, which does put a dampner on anyone's holiday. To give a 1 star review is totally unjustified as we are sure you will realise based on our other reviews and personal emails we have received from some of our visitors, at the end of their stays. If you have any questions and want an honest answer to any of the issues raise before considering renting our house please call or email us. Outside: The swimming pool is private and is 8m x 4m with roman steps. It is cleaned twice a week. Utility Room: The washing machine is in the garage.
