About the Owner

I have been living in Bristol since 1992 with my husband. We have 2 grown-up children.

I am French and have been living in the UK since 1977. I have just retired from teaching and I am enjoying taking care of the annex, tending my garden, walking and reading.

I have also been running holiday lets in France for the last 10 years.

First class accommodation in peaceful and beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

Greeted personally by the owner Marie-France who gave us a tour of The Annexe.

The Annexe was far more spacious and comfortable than the pictures suggest.

Tastefully chosen high spec fixtures and fittings. Lovely furnishings throughout. Comfortable bed with good quality linen. Loved the bathroom!

Marie-France had left us a 'welcome pack' of goodies which was very much appreciated!

The location was very central for many places of interest and during our week's stay we visited Bath, Bristol, Lacock, Wells, Glastonbury, Clevedon, Bradford on Avon all interesting in their own way.

The whole place was spotlessly clean throughout and I would not hesitate to recommend The Annexe as a first class holiday accommodation.

beautifully furnished

  • 5 of 5

The Annexe is a beautifully (high end) furnished self catering. It was clean and tidy on arrival. Mark & Marie, the owners, live in the main house & were helpful & offered advice if needed. They were kind enough to assist me most days with the charging of my mobility scooter which I greatly appreciated! The garden was absolutely beautiful with lots of birds to spot. I would certainly be happy to stay there again in the future. thanks to both owners for a lovely time!

Lovely Comfortable Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Exceptionally well furnished and comfortable accommodation, set in a beautiful garden. Generous welcoming 'goodies' and friendly and helpful owners. The location is very convenient for Bath and Bristol and also for nearby picturesque villages and gardens such as Lacock, Castle Combe, The Abbey Garden in Malmesbury and Bowood gardens.

A Little Piece of Heaven

  • 4 of 5

Listing descriptions was accurate. The annex was immaculate and well furnished and equipped with all the amenities. Owners were very friendly, obliging etc. Local goodies upon arrival were a lovely and welcoming touch. We did eat at local pub, Rose and Crown which was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful grounds surrounding the annex which created a peaceful, serene atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this rental to friends. Location was good for us for purpose of our stay.

Peaceful and relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

The Annex is a lovely apartment with good comfortable accommodation. It was really good to be able to wander around a beautiful garden and have eggs for breakfast from happy hens! It is very convenient for travel and also to sight see in both Bath and Bristol. We would certainly recommend The Annex. The countryside all around is lovely.

Restful Setting & Good Location

  • 5 of 5

The booking was easy, the directions were helpful and the welcome full of warmth. The facilities were ideal for us, and we enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, the comfortable bed and the restful ambience. Especially liked the outlook on the well maintained garden and grounds.

Well positioned for Bath, Bristol and other interesting places. We had wanted to see the Clifton Suspension Bridge, with its information centre, and it didn't disappoint us!

We would certainly recommend.

Location

From the Owner

We bought the main house in 1992 as my husband had to move to Bristol for his job. It was love at first sight due to its location and proximity to Bath and Bristol. We built the Annex in 1994 for my husband's mother. We have rented it since 1997 but decided last year to renovate it completely as an holiday let. From the property, we enjoy exploring the countryside by foot (Cotswold way is nearby) or by car. We love the Georgian city of Bath and the hidden charms of Bristol. We can easily get further afield as the local motorways are only 5 minutes away. We have found the ideal place!
