Overview

Property

Updated: 28-Jul-2016
2 bedroom house in quiet hamlet close to sea

Freshly decorated house with large attractive south and west facing garden and terrace. It is on a quiet country lane with no through traffic that ends at the river of La Trinité-sur-mer. The pretty port of la Trinité, a paradise for sailors, is only 5 minutes by car and the coastal resort of Carnac and it's many white sandy beaches is only 10 minutes drive. Walks and bike rides from door to river, forest, standing stones and La Trinité and Carnac. Ideal spot for watersports of all kinds and other activities like golf, acrobranch, horse-riding, oyster "degustation" nearby. UK satellite TV.

About the Owner

We've worked in the holiday business for a long time, often on French campsites as an area manager, a holiday rep, a receptionist or as bar manager. Otherwise in the winter we've worked in various French hotels or in British run chalets in the Alps.

Cathy has spent her most of her life in Carnac.

Fantastic Holiday in a Lovely Area of France

  • 5 of 5

Lovely little house in a peaceful hamlet but not too far from Trinite Sur Mer. Really enjoyed our holiday here, and what a warm welcome from James and Cathy. Recommend some bikes to get around (we cycled to Trinite every morning for fresh bread). James and Cathy took us a on a fantastic cycle tour of the area to see the standing stones and also helped us arrange some water sports. Loved the area too, loads to see and do. We were travelling with two children.... they loved the beaches (and crepes!!). Hopefully one day we will return.

fantastic holiday

  • 5 of 5

We received a warm friendly welcome from James and Cathy and enjoyed our week in their lovely house, their advice and recommendations of things to do and places to go really helped to make our holiday, a great holiday.

The house was lovely, clean and bright with everything we needed and more. A nice short walk to the river for a paddle or swim and only a short car ride into La Trinite, with restaurants, cafes and bars right beside the marina. We were spoilt for choice with beaches, being able to decide if we wanted to surf, sail, paddleboard or just swim and were able to find a beach to suit.A week wasn't enough and we look forward to a return visit one day. Thanks James and Cathy

Good Location For Holiday Home

  • 5 of 5

We found the house in an excellent, quiet, location, and convenient for many facilities including Supermarkets. Cathy & James were there to greet us and show us around the property, which we found to be clean and fully equipped. We would definitely return to this property in the near future.

Lovely holliday home

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at Kerhouant. James and Cathy's home is spotless, comfortable and homely. We also loved the garden - which captures the sun throughout the day.

James and Cathy are really friendly and welcoming - we really appreciated their recommendations and knowledge of the area. It was also lovely to be greeted with some small gifts from the region.

Their home is ideally located to visit La Trinite, Carnac, Le Golfe du Morbihan and Quiberon; which are all worth seeing. Also lots of markets around with fresh and local produce. We can't recommend it highly enough! Thank you both for offering such a special place.

Brilliant house,location & owners

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely week in this house as a family of four (with two sons aged 8 and nearly 3). Comfortable, spacious and well equipped house in a very peaceful hamlet, not far from Trinite and Carnac and all the lovely beaches. Enclosed, pretty lawned garden with sun deck, plenty of outdoor tables and chairs and fabulous hammock for lazy afternoons. BBQ useful, as well as outside tap, rotary clothes line and covered area for bikes etc. Wonderful welcome from the owners Kathy and James. Lots of very helpful information on local sites and attractions and a very welcome cup of tea, cake and goodies on arrival (the children loved the buckets and spades). We mostly drove around as the weather was a bit inclement, but cycled the last day, along the river, via Trinite to the beach 'Le Mendu', with 8 year old son. Quiet tracks/roads and not too hilly. Overall, a REAL find and would highly recommend. Thank you Kathy & James for a wonderful stay.

Couldn't be better!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the house not anticipating the peak of French holidays so the roads were busy .

The house has a fantastic quiet position away from all the main crowds, in a lovely hamlet with fields , but is literally 5 minutes to the town / marina / 3 minutes to the sea .

The house is perfect for 3 ... The kitchen has everything you need with lovely glasses / cups / crockery and is really clean . Lounge functions brilliantly with the comfiest settee ever .... Lovely for a lazy evening. . British TV and wifi were never a must for us but such a treat . Bedrooms lovely and spacious .

Gardens and patio perfect . The real beauty is that James and Cathy look after the house and live in it when not rented . So it has a lived in / alive feel .... Not a second hardly aired home but a real functional / relaxing place in beach / surfy taste . We loved it / loved the surroundings , loads of cycling !

The owners really looked after us , welcome pack on arrival , really chilled beer which after a long drive was so well received , fabulously helpful , gave us the highlights to do , and wanted to hear our feedback at the end !

We will be back !

Location

We bought the house about 10 years ago when James was a regional area manager for a holiday company. Carnac was the best location for all kinds of watersports with a better climate than other parts of Brittany.
