About the Owner

Dean and I met in Cornwall 20 years ago. We love water sports, biking and outdoor activities. Our two children have flown the nest and we are making the most of what this beautiful area has to offer. Dean is a carpenter and we are both outdoor activity instructors. We have plenty of experience to share with you to ensure you have a great holiday.

Very disappointed

  • 1 of 5

We never got to stay at this property as the owner cancelled our booking. We had booked, paid our deposit which was accepted and all was confirmed by the owner. Then several weeks later, we received an email telling us that our deposit had been refunded as she had made a mistake on the price. She told us that if we still wanted to stay in the property, we could do so at a new price which was an increase of nearly 50% of the original price advertised. This was outside our budget, but the owner would not honour the price advertised. As she had already claimed to refund our deposit, there was nothing that Owners Direct or the insurance we had paid for, could do to help us. We actually had to wait about 2 weeks to receive the deposit back into our account, which meant we were delayed in trying to find a new property. We did find somewhere fantastic eventually, through another booking site and the area is lovely. But I would not recommend this property as the way we were treated was really unreasonable.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to say that there was a clerical mistake on our web pricing and the booking was taken without realising this. We are only human and mistakes do happen. We immediately contacted the customer and explained the price difference. This was over six months in advance of the arrival date. This customer had booked using the online payment system and we had to wait for it to be paid back by the same system. I do understand why this customer has posted this review and hope that future customers will look at the reviews of people who have stayed and enjoyed our property.

Super property in a great place

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house close enough to pubs and shop. Parking tight but there is a bigger car park down the road. All mod cons and nice and warm. Owner very helpful and friendly. We all slept well and and enjoyed our stay.

Highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

The old court house exceeded our expectations. Very high spec and a lovely location - good walk to Bude.

Ample space for our group of 5 ladies.

Couldn't fault it and I hope we will be back again.

Gorgeous Property

  • 5 of 5

The property is to the right of the picture (semi detached) and is over 3 floors, all very well presented and furnished to a very modern and high standard. Very comfortable. Well maintained and clean. The bedrooms and bathrooms are a really good size and the kitchen and seating area are very workable. The property has everything that you need. The internet access was hit and miss (but we didn't travel down for internet access). Really beautiful property.

The location is ideal, right in the heart of the village, with easy access to the local pub The Tree Inn where you can find excellent food and drink. Additionally, Bude is within walking distance, and only minutes in the car where you can find access to local amenities, lovely beaches, country side walks, plenty of cafes, bistros and restaurants. Elements restaurant / hotel was a lovely night out for dinner.

We had a lovely time and would recommend it for families, my kids loved it.

I've suggested that it would be good for a girls getaway, but I do not mean a hen weekend, more your professional ladies who lunch, but occasionally do weekends.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your feedback. It is very important to us. I know what you mean about the internet that week. We will be contacting BT our supplier to see if there is anything which could improve it. We believe this area to be a wonderful alternative to some of the more well used north coast hot spots and long may it last. Angie and Dean.
