This 7 bedroom period house offers spacious, well equipped self-catering accommodation, ideal for 2/3 families or groups of Walkers / Bikers holidaying together. The house was refurbished in 2012, with new furnishings throughout and three newly fitted extra bathrooms making a total of four, there is a Pool. Table on the first floor. The Gables has a modern theme whilst keeping its period charm, with such amenities as wireless internet access and wall mounted TVs in 3 rooms as well as 4 bathrooms. There is parking for one car and on street parking over the road for as many cars as you like.

Why Chris Goodwin chose Keswick & North Lakes

When we first walked into the Gables and the Studio our response was WOW and three years on we still love it, so please come and stay here and see if it Wows you as well. It is 100 yards from central Keswick, but is still very calming. The Gable and the Studio are in central Keswick and sleep up to 18 people (14 in the Gables and upto 4 in the Studio)

What makes this house unique

It is the only property in central Keswick which has a large rear Garden and it even has a slate bed pool table in the dining room! The Houses are big enough to disappear in and still find your own space.

Excellent base for a weekend with friends

The property was accurately described, spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Several guests commented on how comfortable the beds were. As a group of old friends who came together via playing rugby at school we enjoyed the ability to all watch the Six Nations games in the downstairs lounge. It would be impossible to improve on its location in relation to the facilities of central Keswick. It is just on the edge of the centre, with a good range of pubs and restaurants within five minutes' walk. As must be expected in such a central location, parking is limited immediately outside The Gables, (one dedicated space on the premises and overnight/two hour daytime very close by), but the welcome letter does explain this and gives guidance on where to find unlimited on street parking from 100 yards away.

Despite indifferent weather, we enjoyed the Derwentwater launch to Lodore, the Falls, lunch in the very nicely refurbished Lodore Hotel, and a walk back around Derwentwater to Hawse End landing stage. Also Honister Mine tour, lunch in the Fish and the Bridge at Buttermere and the lovely drive back over Newlands Hause followed by a late afternoon walk from Underskiddaw car park onto Latrigg for what must be one of the best Lakeland views for a very small effort!

We are intending to return to the Gables in 2018.

Fabulous accommodation in a superb location

Fantastic property in great location

I stayed at this property whilst attending a 4 day training course, highly recommend - great location, it's walking distance into lovely Keswick town and ideal location for hill walkers. The property is very spacious and furnished to a very high standard.

Studio was welcoming

The Studio was clean, bright and quiet.

We loved the soft bed and shower was superb with high quality power. The kitchen had all the facilities for our breakfast. The best part is that the Studio is walking distance (2 mins) to town.

The only downside was the TV remote control was not working & we had to use the buttons on the side.

In summary we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As part of a large group this would be an excellent place to stay. Spot on for location - very short walk to town centre.
