A refurbished link villa with three en-suite bedrooms located in the tennis valley area. It has a private rear aspect with splash pool and BBQ. The property offers excellent accommodation for a family or group of friends with comfortable furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen with all the expected facilities, including air con and wifi access. Each bedroom has its own private facilities, a great advantage. All windows are protected with insect screens. The property's location in Tennis Valley offers a peaceful alternative to the busier areas of the resort, especially in high season, with readily available free parking and of course, easy access to the tennis academy. The renowned beach and Praca facilities are within an easy twenty minute walk or 5 minute car journey. An on-site bus service is also available. For golf enthusiasts, there are two quality courses on site.

About Alan Chalmers

Our family of five have been coming to Vale do Lobo for many years. We initially rented before buying this property in 2006. Each of us find VDL an ideal place for relaxing and escaping from the vagaries of the UK weather. Three of us are keen golfers and the Algarve offers excellent golfing opportunities. One of the family is a golf club member at VDL. Two of the family cannot stand golf and in particular, dislike "golf chat" over dinner. The three golfers do not understand this. When the children were younger, we were regular users of the Tennis Academy coaching holidays.

The property is our holiday home as well as being available for rental. The accommodation is therefore as we like it to be when staying there ourselves.

Why Alan Chalmers chose Almancil area

We like the peaceful location in Tennis Valley, having rented in that area of the resort for 15 years or so. The property's private rear aspect, and the views to the front over the pond with the relaxing sound of the fountain are particular attractions for us. The sun terraces offer different areas to relax and enjoy some personal peace and quiet. The busier areas of the resort such as the Praca and beach are readily accessible as are the golf courses. The Algarvian weather is of course a major attraction.

What makes this villa unique

Golf is a big benefit for some of the family. The golf haters enjoy the beach and its surroundings, or simply relaxing and reading. Early morning beach walks give particular pleasure. If cycling is your thing, lots of excellent road cycling as well as options for mountain biking. Guided tours are available locally as well as bike hire of whatever sort you fancy.

Notes on accommodation: A non smoking property. Air con in all bedrooms and lounge. All windows with insect screens. No pets allowed. Suitable for all ages but no specific disability measures. Outside: The property benefits from a number of terraces. To the front, a ground floor terrace with table and chairs. Also to the front, a first floor sun trap terrace with table and two chairs, ideal for quiet time. A roof top terrace offers a private sun trap for whatever you fancy. To the rear, the private terrace has raised borders and backs onto a wooded area. Private splash pool and BBQ area. Table and six chairs. Sun loungers. Sun brollies. The surrounding gardens are well maintained by the resort. Some 50 yards from the front of the property is a shallow pond with a variety of fish, numerous frogs, and a fountain. This provides a soothing and relaxing background. The tennis academy is a couple of hundred yards from the property. Access for the circuit bus is close by and plentiful free parking is available within 50 yards, a bonus in high season.The beach and Praca are an easy 15-20 minutes away on foot. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided. Linen and towels changed weekly. Maid service twice per week. Linen provision depends on season. In cooler months duvets, in high season, simple sheets. Please note feather pillows and feather duvets are standard provision. Other: Terraces to the front at ground and mid level, along with further terraces to rear and on roof, give options for mixing with family/friends, or quieter spots for reading or just getting away for some personal time. Private sun bathing on roof terrace.

Special interest holidays:

For tennis enthusiasts, arrangements can be made on your behalf at the tennis academy which is only a couple of minutes from the property. Options range from basic court hire to organised group coaching and private lessons. These can also be arranged directly with the academy if preferred.

Walking holidays and a variety of other outdoor pursuits can be arranged through a third party.


The excellent beach is 15-20 minutes walk away, 5 minutes by car. The beach stretches from Faro in the east along to Vilamoura and beyond in the west and contains several excellent quality beach restaurants scattered along its length. A beach walk to Vilamoura takes approximately 60 minutes. Sun loungers/shades are available for hire and life guards are on site. The adjacent Praca has a number of restaurants plus a swimming pool (entrance charge), crazy golf, kids club etc.


The resort is 25 minutes by car from Faro International airport. Car hire is recommended if wish to explore or shop outside of VDL. Otherwise there is an in resort circuit bus (charges apply) and an on site supermarket. Although VDL has a number of restaurants, a car gives you the option of exploring the numerous restaurants and supermarkets outside VDL which are more competitively priced.


The local town, Almancil, with a range of restaurants, shops and supermarkets, is 5 km away. The market town of Loule is some 11 km away with a similar distance to Vilamoura.

Further Details:

VDL offers a number of on site restaurants, shops and a supermarket. The Praca provides live music in the high season. There are two championship golf courses and a tennis academy on site along with a bank, a hairdresser, a car hire facility, a newsagent and a wine merchant. For young children there is a crèche facility and children's club. Crazy golf also available.

Booking Notes:
Booking enquiries by email. Booking deposit of 10% of holiday cost required within 5 days secures the booking. This will be converted to a refundable security deposit.
50% of the total booking cost, excluding the booking/security fee, required 60 days before arrival with final 50%, 30 days before arrival. The booking/security deposit is separate from these sums. Payments by bank transfer.
Parties of sub 21's will not be accepted. Full details given in rental and deposit agreements.

Changeover Day:
The preferred change over day is Saturday but depending on the season, alternatives may be available by discussion.

Notes on prices:
Winter bookings, outside the dates listed, may be available by discussion based on a weekly charge PLUS BILLS tariff. Short breaks also may be available depending in the time of year.
