Great cottage in a great location!

  • 4 of 5

Stayed for 4 nights for my partners birthday. Wasn't disappointed. Lovely clean and comfortable cottage with everything we needed for our stay. Ideal cottage for a family. There was only the two of us with our two dogs and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location of Portpatrick was perfect. Good walking from the door made sure our dogs were suitably tired so we could enjoy a couple of quiet drinks in The Crown (dog friendly) before heading back to enjoy a night in front of the fire in the Potters Rest. We ate at The Crown on 2 of the 4 nights we stayed and the food was exceptional. I would definitely stay again at the Potters Rest. The only reason I haven't rated 5 star is I can see the steepness of the back garden being a problem for elderly folk or young children as the decking is very slippy when wet. Having said that in the summer time the garden would be a great asset as the views from the top are outstanding.

Communication with the owner Hilary was easy and received prompt replies to any queries.
