Lying in the generously wooded Lyvennet valley, with lovely Pennine backcloth and views towards Lakeland fells, Cranesbill is easy to succumb to. Blessed with frontage onto a peaceful well preserved courtyard, this delightful conversion of a 18th Century Westmorland barn retains many original features. Nearby Morland, its appealing beck displaying footbridges, mill race, ford and resident ducks, is argue-ably the loveliest village in the whole of the Eden Valley. Neighbours include beautiful Lake Ullswater and picturesque Appleby in Westmorland,with its historic and highly scenic Carlisle to Settle railway line; perhaps the finest old market town in the north.

* Please note due to there being a cobbled courtyard and step at the threshold Cranesbill maybe unsuitable for some disabled persons.

Goosemire Cottages is a small family run agency offering 40 Lake District Cottages and self catering apartments in various locations throughout the Lake District, Eden Valley and South Lakes Peninsula. I have been the proprietor of the business for over 15 years. I know all the cottages and apartments personally and have visited them on numerous occasions. Deposit £90 balances due 8 weeks before your holiday.

Changeover Day:
Saturday but depending on time of year can be flexible and also offer short breaks.

Notes on prices:
Last minute discounts

Please ignore Owners Direct pro-rata rates as this is not how our break prices are calculated as there are fixed costs like laundry, cleaning, heating etc which have to be covered. Ive asked them to remove the pro-rata pricing as it’s misleading but so far got nowhere with them.

Our out of season short break rates are calculated at 65% of weekly rent for up to 3 nights stay. 75%= 4 nights, 85%= 5 nights, 95% = 6 nights. For school holiday weeks our minimum rate is 80% of weekly rental for up to 4 nights stay, 90% for 5 nights stay and 95% for 6 nights stay.
