About Zoe Hurst

The Dairy is a self contained barn conversion within the grounds of Luckdon Farm, owned by Gordon and Nikki Hurst. Gordon works in the financial services sector, while Nikki keeps busy being full time "mum" to 5 dogs, 4 cats, a parrot, 5 horses and 2 miniature donkeys, not to mention 3 geese, a duck, chickens and a herd of goats and pigs! They have 2 grown up children and 2 granddaughters.

What makes this barn unique

We are confident that there is something to suit everyone here at The Dairy. There is a treadmill, exercise bike and multigym weights system for those who want to maintain their gym routine whilst on holiday.

We have a beautiful White Company cot for infants and toddlers, as well as toddler furniture, cutlery and safety gates.

There is full Sky TV to keep everyone entertained on rainy days or dark evenings, as well as a chest full of board games.

Ceramic dog bowls are provided for your four-legged companions, as well as a stately dog bed.

Our "Shepherd's Hut" is a popular new addition. Overlooking Dartmoor and presiding over our thriving vegetable garden, the hut is a truly unique, cosy and private hideaway.

WOW - what an amazing place

  • 5 of 5

oh my goodness - the reviews do not do this beautiful barn conversion justice - the accommodation was excellent - exceptionally high quality furnishings and ample equipment - we stayed here for 4 nights and did not want to leave - there is a beautiful shepherds hut for afternoon G&T and there are animals - pigs, geese, horses, dogs goats and so excellent for kids - feed the pigs and they let you rub their bellies!!

Daisy the miniature wired haired dachshund a particular favourite of ours and she became a part of our stay - we sneakily let her in to the barn to play!!- the owners Nikki & Gordon were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble - the on line coordinator Zoe - their daughter always got back to me promptly and was extremely accommodating - we love the area and will definitely be back - the barn is so great we didn't want to venture out and our party spent 4 evenings congregating together in the large living space and had a fantastic time together - words cannot describe how beautiful it is - amazing!

Overwhelming fantastic stay in the country

  • 5 of 5

What can I say, we've have a fantastic stay at this wonderfully converted barn. Perfect in every single way. Great location just a few minutes from the next village which has a local convenience store, butchers and tea shops. The barn was very well maintained in a beautiful setting. Lovely country feel surrounded by a number of farm animals. Our two boys aged 2 and 4 had a lovely time and our dog, Harvey enjoyed exploring the countryside. Totally recommend and we will be back soon for another stay.

A wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the Diary. The barn is one of the best places we have stayed in. It is immaculate and everything is top spec. We will definitely be back. Had great fun in the gym as well as enjoying the scenery both near the Diary and around and about.

Simply Blissful...

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed an idyllic three weeks at The Dairy at Luckdon Farm. We received a generous, warm welcome from Gordon, Nikki, the dogs, cats, goats, chicken, geese, donkeys, ponies, horses and pigs!

The Dairy is a beautiful barn conversion, very tastefully appointed, comfortable, with some lovely personal touches. My wife enjoyed the tranquil garden and I really appreciated the Sky TV!

Ideally placed to explore Dartmoor and for day trips to the coast, The Dairy is a real home from home.

We'd have no hesitation in recommending this country gem and are looking forward to our next visit.

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

We felt as if we had escaped to another time. The Dairy was pure magic. The natural beauty of the place is simply stunning, and then for our children to be in the company of Nicky's wonderful "menagerie" gave our family an experience we will never forget. Nicky and Gordon are the warmest of hosts, always happy to make suggestions, and most importantly, allowed our kids to help with the animals morning and night. The house itself is beautifully decorated, with a very well-appointed kitchen. We did most of our shopping in Ashburton (lovely) on the way in. Moretonhampstead was our local village for additional shopping, dining, poking around. Zoe was wonderful to communicate with for the booking, quickly answering any questions we had. Thank you all so very much!
