House in Plazac, Nr. Montignac, Aquitaine / Dordogne, France - Beautiful Property, Close To Local Amenities And Within 15-20 Minutes Of The Most Famous Local Sites

A pretty Timber-Framed home, accommodating comfortably for a maximum of 6 or 8 persons in 4 bedrooms & one quality bed-settee in a private room. The house is extremely well equipped and close to some of the most famous sites of interest... Montignac & Lascaux, Les Eyzies, La Roque St Christophe, the medieval town of Sarlat, the Gallo-Roman town of Périgueux. The private pool (10 x 4 m) with a large terrace and selection of outdoor games (trampoline, ping-pong, sand pit) allow for children to use their energy whilst the adults relax and enjoy.

The owner is occasionnally present in a small independant office located behind the car parking area and out of view of the garden and private areas. She is happy to be of assistance and is only located 20 minutes away at any time in case of any needs or advice.

The river Vézère is only 10 minutes away and is delightful for canoeing on hot summer days.

The Vézère Valley is famous for it's Prehistoric sites and chateaux.

The Dordogne Valley is around 40 minutes drive and well worth a day out. Renowned for it's 1001 châteaux you can also canoe down the river, stopping for picnics and view some of it's many majestic châteaux and views.

Outside: The large tended gardens of 6000 m² are perfect for relaxing in or for children to run off some energy. The private pool measures 10 x 4m and has a large terrace of 100 m² for relaxing on the sun beds or for dining at the table, under the shade of the parasol. The adjacent forest has been cleared and allows guests to enjoy the valley views and views of the adjacent manor house. The trampoline of 3.90 m diameter has a safety net and the table-tennis is perfectly positioned to enjoy the shade of the trees. The sand pit has a few toys to allow our younger guests to play and enjoy themselves. Utility Room: Washing machine, Freezer, All kitchen appliances: Food-Mixer, Liquidiser, toaster, rice cooker, steamer.... most appliances needed for cooking are available at the property. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen is provided. Bathroom linen is provided. Pool towels are not provided. Cleaning is available upon departure at a cost of 120€ for the property. Other: The large kitchen-diner is fully equipped for all your needs. The table can comfortably seat 8 persons & the large patio doors open out to the shaded terrace. The separate sitting-room serves as an extra bedroom with a quality double bed settee.

Beautiful house with beautiful views!

We spent our 2 week holiday here & had a lovely time. It's a beautiful house which is well equipped for everything you'll need & there's plenty of books if you're a bookworm. The pool was a blessing each day as it was very hot. You'll definitely need a car to venture places but if it's peace & quiet you're after then this holiday home is for you.

Great rural location for relaxing holiday.

The house had everything we needed and there was plenty of room inside & lovely covered terrace for wet weather. There's a large garden and pool area which kept the children happy. Lovely village of Plazac nearby for morning croissants & plenty of restaurants in surrounding villages. Lots of caves to visit locally and canoeing on the local river was a highlight. Friendly, helpful owner with advice on where to find various activities on offer.

A wonderful two weeks relaxing around the pool & exploring the local area.

Lovely house with fantastic outside space!

The house itself was homely. It had plenty of space & was beautifully clean.

The pool was clean with lovely views. The garden had lots of space & plenty for our 3 children to do. A really lovely house to while a way the time!!

Lovely house & Location

We stayed for a month mid June to Mid July 2014. Shelly the owner was wonderful made us feel very welcome. She is on hand nearby but never intrusive. The house is surrounded by lovely countryside and walks especially appreciated by Hugo & Henry. We found much to do and see with plenty of choice for meals in the surrounding Villages and Towns. We would highly recommend Shelly's lovely home. We will be back ASAP.

PLazac near Montignac

Perfect peace

We arrived at Shelley's property late on a Sunday evening, the directions were spot on and although not requested there was a stock of essentials in the fridge. I was so grateful for that. The location in the middle of nowhere with stunning views of the beautiful Dordogne landscape was just the antidote to our hectic lives. We enjoyed poolside reading and outings alike, Montignac is just lovely to potter around and the market is sweet and the canoeing and caves on the Vezere were interesting. It seems like there is a chateau around every bend in the river so we had a good choice of culture and I must highly recommend the Eyrignac Manor Garden if you want to be blown away, I am a keen gardener and I was amazed at the place. Shelley was very kind and attentive without being remotely intrusive, a really nice lady who works hard to create a great holiday venue. I would describe it as a perfect rural retreat and we really enjoyed the panoramic views of the French countryside all around us.

Absolutely perfect.

We stayed here with our family of varying ages for 2 weeks in 2013. The location is great, easily accessible for all the tourist sites but not so close that we had to suffer any crowds. The main tourist sites at Perigueux, Sarlat, Montignac, Domme, Beynac etc are all a short drive away. The property itself is incredibly well equipped and offers all and more that you would need for a holiday. The decor is very tasteful, bright and airy and spotlessly clean. Also lots of space both inside and out. I would thoroughly recommend the property to anyone looking for a sightseeing holiday in the Dordogne or even if you just want a relaxing few weeks by the pool, perfect.
