There is an abundance of cultural and historical sites to visit in both the Lot as in the Lot et Garonne.

Cahors,capital of the Lot has a rich cultural history ad is known for its Cahors wines.

For the sporty types, the varied landscapes and unspoiled nature are perfect for hiking or biking with you family, quiet along the Lot or more challenging along one of the many circuits.

This culinary region has much to offer, a simple but very tasty cuisine and foie gras de canard, confit de canard, truffels, wild mushrooms, walnutsand goat cheese are usually part of it.

Notes on accommodation: bedroom 1: situated on the ground floor is suitable for people with limited mobility,the shower,wc and sink are not adapted for wheelchair users Outside:the pool house gives you a secured space to store your bicycles. Large garden(1ha), is fenced; has several patios,one of them is covered, has outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Pool;5mx10m, is heated from June to October and can be closed by a shutter conform by the French law. The pool is surrounded by a terras and has loungers and parasol. Jeu de boulle Private parking Utility Room: washing machine,dryer, second fridge, ironing board and iron Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The use of towels and linen is provided(except pool- towels) and changed every week. The final cleaning is free of charge except extreme pollution.

Lovely House and pool

The photos of the house are accurate but it is much nicer than the pictures, all of the bedrooms are large and it's great to have a bathroom for each bedroom, all bathrooms are spacious, and there was also a separate toilet downstairs.

We made great use of the chilled filtered water and ice from the fridge, and it was good to have a second fridge for keeping our drinks in. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of plates etc.

The pool was heated which was really nice, and it was cleaned regularly.

We did see a few deer in the garden (which is large) and a red squirrel.

The local supermarket is large (10 mins away) and has everything we needed.

Beautiful house, beautifully maintained

La Grange du Fournie is a very impressive, very new barn conversion. It has been fitted out to the highest standard, with shiny bathrooms, big showers, an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen and spacious bedrooms. The setting is lovely, with a large garden so near to the banks of the Lot in a quiet hamlet near pretty villages and the great Chateau de Bonaguil. The pool is exceptionally clean and well maintained and heated so is not cold even in an uneven summer. The owners are charming and helpful but not at all intrusive, though next door if anything goes wrong. They have thought of everything, with places to dry clothes inside, a second fridge and a wealth of information about what to do locally. Our children and our friends had a terrific week - and the house is very reasonably priced considering the space and high specification of all the facilities.
