Beautiful villa with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful peaceful villa. The villa was very clean and everything we needed was provided in the villa. There are lots of outside areas, chairs and tables for sunbathing and eating out. The surrounding views are amazing and you get used to the drive to the villa. Booking was very quick and simple with immediate email response from the owner. Rob the Manager is available on the end of the phone whilst staying at the villa and is very helpful.

What a magical place. The views are stunning. The sea, the stars, the valley, the birds and the mountains. A very comfortable villa with everything you need for a great holiday. Good beds, good bathrooms, great kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas. Lots of outdoor seating, a roof terrace, a very pretty terraced garden with more tranquil seating areas. Strong Wifi :0) A decent TV with USB socket. A welcome plunge pool - even in October !! An exciting drive up and down !! We did it everyday in a Fiat Panda , no problem. Nice neighbours. A friendly manager , Rob, when we needed help. Torrox Pueblo nearby has a lovely square with Tapas bars. Torrox Costa is 15 mins away with a decent Lidls. 20 minutes to Nerja and 30 mins to large shopping precint at Torre del Mar. Superb walks and surrounded by fabulous mountain villages to visit. We spent 9 nights there with our 87 year old mum , we all loved it and cannot wait to go back next year. Malcolm and Alison have a lovely home and were really easy to communicate with. See you next year.

Activity and Interests

Car: necessary

The Villa is a 20 minute drive from the beaches at Torrox Costa, and a 15 minute drive from Torrox Village.

Torrox is approximately 50 minutes drive from Malaga Airport on the N- 340

Approximately a 20 minute drive to the long beaches of Torrox Costa a frequent recipient of the prestigious EU Blue Flag, the long Promenade is lined with numerous bars and restaurants of all types.

From the Costa you can easily drive to the beautiful town of Nerja with one of Spain's major tourist attractions The Caves of Nerja, stretching for almost 5 kilometres. Concerts are regularly held in one of the chambers which forms a natural amphitheatre. May is a lovely month to holiday in Spain with the added attraction that on the 15th May every year the festival of San Isidro takes place in Nerja. This is probably the most popular day of the year for most Nerjeños, when the whole town seems to decamp to the park surrounding the Maro caves and to party until the very early hours.

The festival is in honour of Isidro, a farm labourer, who in legend received divine assistance to perform his work. As a result he has become the patron saint of farm workers and other labourers in many Spanish speaking countries.

The day begins with a service in the El Salvador church on the Balcon de Europa. Then the real fun starts, with a parade from the Balcon to the caves near Maro. The procession takes about three hours to reach its destination and is made up of dozens of carts, carriages, horses, oxen, tractors and other forms of transport. All are colourfully decorated, and the Nerjeños equally so, the women in beautiful dresses, the men in smart riding gear or traditional farmer’s outfits. Everyone makes a huge effort for the day. As the procession proceeds the wine flows, and as the wine flows the music tempts many to dance their way to Maro. A must if you book to come in May.

Torre del Mar is approx a 20 minute drive and apart from the beach has a indoor shopping centre of El Ingenio with shopping and entertainment of more than 100 shops, hypermarket, 12 cinema halls and restaurants. Also nearby Aquavelis is a large water park for the family.

Approx 11/2 hours drive away is the beautiful City of Granada, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, has many important examples of medieval architecture dating to the Moorish occupation of Spain. It’s best known for the Alhambra, a grand, sprawling hilltop fortress complex encompassing royal palaces, serene patios and reflecting pools from the Nasrid dynasty, as well as the fountains and orchards of the Generalife gardens.

Further Details

There are a number of Supermarkets on Torrox Costa, Banks, Post Office and individual shops. There is also a very good bus service to Malaga and local towns. The coast is good for easy walking and the mountains for the more serious walkers all within easy reach.
