One bedroom first floor apartment with open plan lounge, large en-suite shower room and separate shower room.. The apartment, which is in a converted woollen mill, overlooks the Leeds/Liverpool canal and is near to the bustling market town of Bingley near the famous Five Rise Locks; there are numerous country walks and it is possible to walk through the countryside to the popular and stylish town of Ilkley - made famous in the song 'On Ilkley Moor Baht'at'. You can view the locks and picturesque countryside which is all around and walk or cycle along the towpath.

The village of Haworth, home of the famous Bronte sisters who wrote 'Jane Eyre' and 'Wuthering Heights', is a short distance away and is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the country. The Bronte parsonage in the village of Haworth, with its cobbled streets and superb moorland scenery, is 'a must' for anyone visiting this part of Yorkshire. The short but pleasant 'Railway Children Walk' will take you to the adjacent village of Oakworth and Oakworth Station which featured prominently in 'The Railway Children' film. Another popular walk is to Bronte Waterfall which Charlotte Bronte described as 'White and Beautiful'.

A popular event in May is the Haworth 1940s Weekend organised by the SSAFA Benevolent Fund and with the proceeds going to Forces' Charities. Haworth village has a great number of visitors during this weekend, many in 1940s costume. A vintage bus service is provided, free of charge, from Haworth station to the top of the village and back to connect with the steam trains which run at 45 minute intervals.

The Utopian village of Saltaire, built by Sir Titus Salt to house his mill workers and now a UNESCO Heritage Site, is close by. Salt's Mill, in the village of Saltaire, contains the famous David Hockney Art Gallery, shops and cafes. Near to the mill is the picturesque Shipley Glen with one of the few remaining funicular tramways in the country. The historic market towns of Skipton with its castle, Harrogate with its spa and famous Betty's Cafe and Halifax with its Piece Hall Market are near.

The adjacent town of Keighley is famous for the Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway and there is also the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway situated just outside Skipton. Keighley's Victorian Railway Station has been used in a number of films and television programmes. The beautiful grounds of Cliffe Castle park and gardens with its museum and Art Gallery are ideal for a quiet stroll and during the summer, often hosts recitals by local Brass Bands.

Bingley itself boasts the superb parkland of the St Ive's Estate. and there are a number of golf courses in the surrounding area including St Ive's and Keighley. A popular attraction in July is the Airedale Agricultural (Bingley) Show which can trace its origins to 1862 and is one of the largest one-day agricultural, horticultural, craft and horse shows in Europe. The Show offers an incredible range of things to see and do including show jumping, Shire horses, horticultural and handicraft stalls and of course cattle and sheep from local farms.

In August, Bingley hosts 'Music in the Park' a popular outdoor Music Festival. Headliners in 2014 were The Petshop Boys.

Further down the valley, there is free entry to the National Media Museum in Bradford with its famous giant IMAX screen.

The historic village of Ingleton at the foothills of Ingleborough on the threshold of Yorkshire's beautiful limestone Dales is within easy driving distance and many guests enjoy the Ingleton Waterfalls Walk which offers some of the most spectacular waterfall and woodland scenery in the North of England. This four mile trail, leads you through ancient oak woodland and magnificent Yorkshire Dales scenery in a series of stunning waterfalls and geological features.

For those who enjoy Real Ale, the local Branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) publishes four local pub guides for the areas of Keighley, Skipton, Settle/Giggleswick and Haworth/Bronte Country. Real Ale lovers will be able to enjoy the delights of brews such as 'Ram Tam' and 'Landlord' from Keighley's local Timothy Taylor Brewery which uses natural spring water from the Pennine Hills in the brewing process. Skipton's Copper Dragon Brewery holds daily tours where visitors can see the bewing process of beers such as Golden Pippin and Black Gold which is brewed using a recipe from restored 19th century brewing records.

In addition to all this, excellent transport links to the major cities of this part of Yorkshire, give easy access to a wealth of other tourist attractions and great shopping, including Harvey Nichols and the famous Victorian Arcade Shopping Centre in Leeds. Theatres in Bradford and Leeds often boast plays and musicals equal to those of the West End: for example, 'Sister Act' at Bradrord's Alhambra theatre in February 2017. Theatres in Leeds and Bradford are walking distance from Bus and Train stations.

The apartment and the surrounding area is an ideal location for couples who want an active or quiet holiday or for those who want to combine both town and countryside. For those without a car or who want to leave the car at home there are excellent transport links close by.

Take away outlets, pub lunches and a variety of restaurants are within walking distance of the apartment and will ensure a complete holiday experience. There is a guest folder in the apartment which gives a wealth of ideas for walks, activities and days out.

A doddle to the Dales! Best of both worlds!

This apartment is in a brilliant area so close to the countryside but an easy walk to any amenity you should want. 5 Locks is a 'must see' engineering feat of the late 1770s and the open markets of Bingley ( Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) a further short stroll away. Bus/train transport options are practically on the doorstep while your car can be parked safely within the property grounds. The apartment is very comfortable (especially the bed) and provides my 'must haves' for holiday accommodation - wi fi, satellite tv and a washing machine/dryer. A variety of quality eateries are within walking distance or you can use the well equipped kitchen and eat in. Highly recommended.

A lovely conversion to a Grand Old Mill. A five minute walk to another great piece of Engineering , The Five Rise Locks, then a little further to three Locks

The apartment was very clean & tidy , & comfortable. Nice comfortable bed , with en suite shower & toilet

Nice views from the big windows , & a very quite place to stay

Once there not a lot of need for a car,as there is a bus service every 10 minutes, in both directions, close by

Honeymoon Heaven!

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending our honeymoon at this lovely flat. Modern comfortable and clean with lovely views, it was the perfect place to explore the area. The days spent hiking it was nice to have a comfortable quiet 'home' to return to, and the added bonus of being able to walk along the canal in the evening just minutes from the flat.close by too so a car is not essential.

There is a bus stop 2 minutes walk away that takes you through Bingley itself, Saltaire and Bradford with train stations

Pauline was friendly and polite when I needed to contact her and nothing was too much bother.

We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this flat.

As keen walkers, we find the walks available in the beautiful countryside surrounding the property are ideal. The views from the apartment are fantastic and in the spring and summer, the canal is busy with barges and narrow boats, fishermen and walkers. Transport links are first class. Local buses run every ten minutes from the village and the local railway station is 5 minutes walk away giving easy access to the cities of Leeds and Bradford for shopping and theatre trips. Skipton, Gateway to the Dales and the Bronte village of Haworth are a short drive away, as is Salts Mill, a World Heritage site. There is a nearby National Trust property and the Worth Valley Steam Railway is 5 minutes away as is the Five Rise Locks. Pubs and restaurants are within easy walking distance.

There is a local pub at the bottom of the Lane which serves meals - 2 to 3 minutes walk. Also, a local fish and chip shop (excellent), bakery, hairdresser's, butcher's and Chinese take-away. The local newsagent's is at the bottom of Micklethwaite Lane. Tesco Express is within walking distance & supermarkets - Asda, Morrison's, Aldi & Sainbury's are in Keighley. There is a co-op supermarket and a Sainsbury's Express in Bingley, which also boasts several pubs and restaurants, as does Keighley. The local Indian restaurant (Sharma) in Bingley, does not have a licence so you can take your own alcohol. Similarly, with Shimla Spice and Azeem's in Keighley. There are banks in both Keighley and Bingley and internet acess is available in the apartment. There is a swimming pool in Keighley and Cliffe Castle park boasts an art gallery, museum and cafe as does Myrtle Park in Bingley. The cinema in Keighley shows the latest films; and plays, shows and musicals can be seen at Bradford's famous Alhambra Theatre and St George's Hall. Also, Leeds Grand Theatre and West Yorkshire Playhouse are worth visiting. East Riddlesden Hall is a National Trust property minutes by car from the apartment and guests may enjoy exploring further afield and all the delights Yorkshire has to offer including the Worth Valley Steam Railway based in Keighley and Haworth and Bolton Abbey near Skipton. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is easily accessible and many guests explore the village of Haworth and the surrounding countryside made famous in the Bronte novels and 'The Railway Children' film.There are excellent transport links to Bradford, Leeds, Keighley, Skipton and the surrounding towns and villages. The Railway Station and buses are 5 minutes walk from the apartment. This is an ideal area for walking, golf and other outdoor leisure activities and these are easily combined with activities in nearby towns and cities. There is a wealth of tourist attractions and great shopping within easy reach.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is normally Saturday although other days can be negotiated. However, we do expect guests to book for seven days. Arrival after 3pm. Please depart by 10-30 am in order that the apartment can be cleaned for the arrival of the next guests.

The property is situated in a sympathetically converted woollen mill with fantastic views over open countryside and the canal towpath. As keen golfers, we benefit from easy access to four local golf courses. Easy transport links mean we do not always have to take the car for shopping or days and nights out. The village of Crossflatts boasts its own local pub, butchers, bakery, pharmacy, hairdressers and take away food outlets. The local fish and chips are enjoyed without exception. The property has its own allocated parking with security gate and lift to all floors. Quality fixtures and fittings throughout. En-suite shower room and separate shower room with grab rails and shower seat if required.
