Fantastic holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Butterfly Lodge is a well equipped, clean and tidy holiday home in a great spot for exploring the local area. The living areas and decking is spacious and perfect for a family or group stay. The lodge is well situated in a quiet corner of the park but it is nice to have the pool across the road if you want to use it.

We loved Looe and Polperro - both beautiful Cornish towns well worth exploring.

Don't forget to take hand towels for the bathroom like we did!

Thank you.

Welcoming, quiet, comfortable and homely log cabin

  • 5 of 5

Lovely quiet camp site. With a warm swimming pool, good sports facilities for keeping children and adults entertained. Club house food was good but selection of fresh groceries limited in the shop.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your appreciated comments Elizabeth & choosing Butterfly Lodge. Granted the site shop is a little limited in choice but carries more than just basics (bread / milk etc). I recommend shopping at a big supermaket en-route (e.g. Sainsburys, Plymouth - just off A38). The big supermarkets will also deliver to the lodge if you order on-line. Best Regards Tony & Elizabeth

Spacious comfortable lodge

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the lodge with our 3 children. It was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. The park was quiet and peaceful and the pool was large and not crowded. There are lots of things to do in the local area and we walked to Talland Bay and to Polperro. The kids especially enjoyed the beaches. We would definitely recommend this lodge and will consider staying there again.

Fabulous Property and location

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Butterfly lodge from the moment we arrived it was fantastic.

We were after a nice relaxing break and it lived up to our expectations.

Tony the owner was fantastic and really helpful when we had a few problems with the shower which he quickly responded to and sorted out for us.

The weather was a real bonus and completely unexpected but welcomed.

We enjoyed the walks along the costal path to polpero and looe which has outstanding and spectacular views.

The lodge was as described and clean.

Cannot fault it other than to say a comments book would be useful for people to write about places to visit etc

Will definately be looking to book again

Owner's Response: It's really gratifying for Elizabeth & I to get such positive feedback. We bought the lodge NOT as a commercial venture but because we love this part of the world. We have made it a 'home from home' with high class furniture, decor & fittings. There are plenty of lodges to choose from but we believe in providing comfort & style for our holiday tenants with 'extras' including 42" wall mounted TV (lounge), Blue Ray player, TV in master bedroom, BBQ and rear decked sun trap / alfresco area. Thanks for choosing Butterfly Lodge and your kind comments.

From the Owner

As a boy my parents used to bring me to Looe for summer holidays. I fell in love with Cornwall and brought my family and touring caravan regularly. My partner Elizabeth loves this part of the world as passionately as I do. We visited Killigarth Manor staying in lodges and caravans on a number of occasions - we love the area. So we decided to buy Butterfly Lodge when it became available. We are house proud and have poured our passion, time, effort and money into the lodge to make it our 'home from home'. Cornwall has so much to offer. The proximity of Looe, Talland Bay & Polperro make it ideal as we love walking.

Butterfly Lodge is situated close to the beautiful beach of Talland Bay and the picturesque fishing village of Polperro.

The coastal path is close by allowing the opportunity to experience exhilarating walks and breathtaking views. Polruan is around 10 miles away, along the cliffs and through the bays. A challenging walk, but the secluded bays and natural beauty is worth the effort.

The walk to Polperro takes around 30 minutes (1 mile) via the Cornish path. The village is an un-spoilt ‘oasis’ in a hectic world. There are quaint pubs, restaurants, art galleries, curiosity shops, and boat trips. Tired of walking? Then take the tram to the Crumplethorn Inn for meals and traditional beers.

Looe is around a 4 miles walk along the Coastal path with views over St Georges (Looe) island, or 10 minutes by car, famous for it’s banjo pier, shark fishing. sunny beaches, shops, pubs, restaurants, golf, and boat excursions. Something for everyone!!

Talland Bay is a beautiful cove close to the lodge. This provides safe bathing, rock pools, fishing etc. The cove also has a beach cafe serving cream teas, pasties and other food options. Kyak hire is available from the cafe.

Polperro is 1 mile away with smugglers caves and boat trips to Looe and around the spectacular coastline.

Talland Bay (beach) is approximately 1/2 mile away

Polperro is less than a mile.

Looe is around 4 miles.

From the Owner

Chill out at Butterfly Lodge. The lodge is positioned backing onto the Polperro football pitch. This is a local amateur club so no problems on match days. Just a handful of well behaved spectators and their dogs. We extended the decked area to the rear of the lodge which gives outdoor living front and rear. The rear of the property is South facing making it a secluded and sheltered sunbathing area. Buses run regularly to Looe, Liskeard, Polperro & Plymouth. The Looe train has to be experienced and joins the main tracks at Liskeard giving excellent access to all major towns and cities. There is a convenience shop on site, launderette, takeaway, bar, swimming pools, sauna, gym, crazy golf, tennis court, children's play area, bar and club. It's got something for everyone!
