Perfect!
I would highly recommend this property. All the communication before our stay was prompt and thorough. The house was so beautifully furnished and it felt like we were staying in a well loved home rather than a rented property The house had a cot and a high chair we could use and it had stair gates too; families had certainly been catered for! The house was situated amongst beautiful countryside with so many walks on our doorstep. We enjoyed very early morning walks with the local cows In the field next to us. Our children loved this! The quaint little villages nearby were all beautiful and certainly worth a visit. We had some excellent meals at the local villages too. I hope we can visit this property again.

Nice property, great location for walks
Nice clean property, surprisingly spacious. It’s right next to one of the loveliest parts of the whole South East of England - the walk up to the top of the Holies to look over the Goring Gap is spectacular.

Great stay in lovely property in beautiful area of the country
Stayed here with my wife, brother and our elderly parents on a visit to other family members. Ideal for us as there was a gound floor bedroom with ensuite for my parents, both in their early 90's. The property is expertly laid out, with many personal touches. You can tell this property is lovingly cared for. We had a great stay and will certainly come back here if we are again in the area. Highly recommended.

Lovely well appointed cottage, plenty of room for a family to stay. Would highly recommend!
We are a family of 5 who recently stayed for a week at this cottage. It is set in a lovely village which is very peaceful but provides easy access to Oxford, London and surrounding areas. The cottage is spotless and very well maintained, we instantly felt at home. In particular the kitchen is of a high standard and has a surplus of cooking equipment which is often lacking in holiday homes. The downstairs wet room was fab for our oldest teenager! The living area is very comfortable with plenty of space. Both upstairs bedrooms are very pretty and of good size. During our stay we were lucky to have fabulous weather which meant that we made good use of the enclosed garden. Finally, the washing machine in the outhouse meant that I didn't return home with loads of washing, a definite bonus! We honestly had such a lovely holiday, Thank you so much Sue & Martin, we would love to return for another visit.

I live on site in a neighbouring cottage with my husband, adult daughter and 2 horses (n.b. there are no dogs or cats on site). We have been established as a holiday let for 16 years. The Old Stables is a replacement building built on the site of a derelict stable block. Our holiday cottage is the main focus of my attention and I take pride in presenting the cottage and grounds to a high standard. We do not let through agencies, preferring to provide a more personal service by fully managing the cottage ourselves. Once we have checked you in, we will leave you alone to get on with your holiday and you may well not see us again until check out day. However, being next door, we are always on hand if needed to assist with any queries, and taking our cue from our guests, we are always happy to chat.

Why they chose this property

We bought the property 19 years ago mainly for its location being close to the village but also for its immediate access for walking, riding and cycling. The property is set in 4 1/2 acres and is located on the main Pangbourne to Streatley road which runs along the side of the Thames. The cottage is well set back from the road (approx. 150ft) and has views across The Chilterns. The property is also well located for rail and road links to many major tourist destinations.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is immediately adjacent to The National Trust's The Holies, Lough Down and Lardon Chase, 67 acres of chalkland, supporting rare species of plants and butterflies. To the side of the cottage is a bridleway giving access to many picturesque walks including access to The Ridgeway National Trail and the Thames Path. There is a huge variety of places to eat out in Goring and Streatley, and the surrounding area, and there are several attractions within walking distance to suit all ages.
