The cottages have been recently converted to provide the ideal background for family holidays. They are light and bright and cosy in winter. The Wool Store is very spacious with a mezzanine area above the kitchen for individual entertainments. The Clipping Shed also has an extra indoor play area upstairs. The other 2 cottages are open plan and well organised. Cooking facilities are good and the owner's home made cakes go down very well! Each house has its own garden and patio for sitting out and to enjoy the fabulous views. There are sheds for bicycles. Blair Castle and walled garden is one mile away. The village has 2 good shops, a post office, an interesting local museum, 2 pubs and a working water mill and cafeteria. We are surrounded by places to visit, wonderful nature and wildlife and the very best walking and cycling opportunities.
Andrew and Lavinia Gordon live in converted steadings a mile and a half away from the Tom of Lude. Andrew is a farmer, builder and practical guy who can mend most things given the time and energy.
Lavinia is a retired piano teacher who loves making cakes.
We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren and we are much enjoying our holiday cottage business.
Andrew inherited the estate and properties 40 years ago. We were anxious to include diversification into our farm plan, thereby bringing in visitors from far afield or close at hand. The area lends itself to tourism which combines very well with the workings of our farm. We hope that the experience of coming to stay at the Tom of Lude not only offers a welcome break but also an insight into the workings of a small livestock farm in the heart of the highlands.
The Tom of Lude Steadings boast the very best views on the estate. We decided that the buildings were wasted for subsidiary farm use and so conversion into holiday cottages seemed to be the obvious answer. The cottages are remote, and yet only a mile away from the village and amenities, and we felt that this idyllic spot would provide an ideal place for a holiday for all ages and stages.
with everything that we needed. Thank you for the welcome pack, the cake was lovely. We will be back soon!

A fantastic base for a walking holiday with dogs. Well away from main road. Lot of walking from door. Absolutely loved our accommodation. Warm and cosy, well equipped with everything you need. Everything worked well. The welcome pack was a lovely bonus. Sorry to be going home.
We stayed for a week in this charming 2 bed barn conversion and felt very comfortable. Our welcome pack including home made cake, fresh eggs and bread was much appreciated and the kitchen was well stocked. We were attending a family wedding at Blair Atholl Castle and it was a perfect location. The living space is large and we even celebrated 2 family birthdays comfortably. We'd definitely return if we were in the area. Thank you.
Our 4th time at Tom of Lude but first time staying in "The Byre". Great weather, loads of walks nearby. Dogs loved it. We'll definitely be back. No negative points at all.
Thanks again to Lavinia!

Lavinia and Andrew made us feel very welcome with their little messages and welcome pack (which was very welcome!). Lavinia had baked us a cake which was delicious. We had a blissful five days in The Byre where we wanted for nothing and would happily have stayed longer.
The location is beautifully situated off the road with wonderful views across the country side.
The Byre itself is very comfortable, homely and spotlessly clean. It was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. We would have no hesitation in returning and would gladly recommend it to friends or relatives.
Our first holiday as a family of 3 with our 9 month old daughter and it was fantastic. Beautiful location and lovely, well equipped cottage. Travel cot and high hair provided were great. Lots of beautiful walks within a very short distance. Would highly recommend the cottage and we will definitely be back.
The Cottage was located in a beautiful spot with stunning views. Inside the cottage was warm, comfortable and everything required for a great stay. The enclosed garden was also a huge bonus for our 2 wee boys to enjoy playing outside.
