About Tinker Fraser

Ptarmigan Lodge is family owned by myself and my husband. Our family enjoys all the outdoor activity that takes place around the Spey Valley and Nethy Bridge. We love skiing, mountain biking, trail running and hill walking.

Tinker Fraser purchased this bungalow in 1995

Why Tinker Fraser chose Aviemore and the Cairngorms

We feel Nethy Bridge is a real jewel of the Spey Valley and has a indelible link with the forest, rivers and nature that surrounds it.

Nethy Bridge and Ptarmigan Lodge are a real easy-living place. Walking by the river down to the local shop for the paper on a Sunday morning is one of my favourite walks.

It's our favourite place to spend time relaxing in winter or summer.

What makes this bungalow unique

We rebuilt the lodge 15 years ago and doubled it in size. We wanted to bring the outdoors into the house with the huge glass windows. So it's very open plan indoor/outdoor house and it worked!

Wedding weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a family party for our daughters wedding and found the lodge to be perfect for the before, wedding day and wind down afterwards. The lodge is well equipped and very well planned with the main, open plan area overlooking the gardens and river working well for relaxing and entertaining. Facilities are as described and presentation first class. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
