A beautiful villa in a stunning location.

The villa was very spacious, pool was fabulous. Views were amazing, the sunsets and stargazing at night a wonderful way to end the day. Lots to see and do in the area. A great place for a relaxing holiday.

Peaceful Alentejan Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

Picadurinhas is quite simply one of the finest villas we have ever had the pleasure to visit. We have stayed in many villas in all regions of Portugal over many years and Picadurinhas is now at the top of our favourite list. It is extremely clean, very well maintained and fully equipped with everything needed to ensure your stay is very comfortable. Other reviews of this property have sung it's praises and they are well warranted. As fabulous as the villa is, it's star quality is undoubtedly the view. Stunning, breathtaking and magical are not adjectives I use regularly to describe a view, but in this case, they do not even begin to convey the true beauty of Picadurinhas. We will cherish the memories of our time spent in this wonderful, peaceful Alentejan sanctuary.

A little piece of heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5

This is a truly lovely house in a stunning setting with superb views over open countryside. The peace and quiet is wonderful. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you.

The house was spotlessly clean and was probably the best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in. What was particularly nice was the provision of some basic items such as salt, pepper, herbs, tea bags and sugar. Also what a pleasant surprise to find a potato masher and egg cups - so often missing.

The nearest supermarket is only a short drive away and there are many lovely restaurants in the locality. Being away from the main resorts areas of Portugal eating out is relatively cheap - a glass of red wine for 1 euro for example!

Lisbon can be visited either by train from the local station or you can drive to the outskirts of the city and catch a local train into the centre. Evora and Vila Viscosa are also in driving distance as are the resorts at the coast. The Algarve is also reachable for a day trip.

Joanna (the owner) is wonderfully helpful as it her contact in Ourique, Maxine, so you can feel confident that should there be any issues help is available.

We had a truly wonderful two weeks here. Our only criticism was that the weather was too hot (40 degrees +).

We will definitely be back!

Perfect tranquility

  • 5 of 5

No TV, No WiFi, No neighbours - Absolute bliss!

The villa is spotless with so much space 6 people do not get under each others feet. The children loved the pool and the view is spectacular.

Maxine was very helpful when we arrived and during the week.

Thank you Joanna for sharing your wonderful villa with us - I cannot think of staying anywhere else the next time we go to Portugal.

Owner's Response: Thank you Kevin and Lin for your very positive remarks, I think it is very refreshing to hear our guests comment on the fact that we don't have TV or WiFi and how they enjoyed the peace and beauty of the villa and the surrounding area. I look forward to welcoming you back to Picadurinhas in the near future. Joanna

Well appointed, quiet, well furnished

  • 5 of 5

The property is tucked away off the main road and tranquil. Well furnished and the peace and quiet along with the view is priceless. It is close to the amenities and if you wish to visit Lisbon is close to the station (tickets can be booked online). If you want to get away from it all this is the place. Thank you Joanne for letting us stay at your lovely villa and will definitely be returning in the future.

The perfect villa for a relaxing, get away from it all, holiday

  • 5 of 5

This villa has stunning views and is in an isolated, totally peaceful location. If you like people, bars and clubs then this is not the villa for you.

The villa itself has very good facilities and was spotless when we arrived. The pool is just wonderful; well kept and the pefect way to keep cool.

Lots of places to visit locally ]; good restaurants or you can visit the Algarve in less than an hour.

The track up to the villa seemed daunting at first, but was easily negioated by the end of the hoiday.

I would have no hesitation in recoomending this villa
