About the property

Villa in Orhaniye, Bozburun Peninsula, Aegean Region, Turkey - Unique Peaceful Location Within Walking Distance Of Local Beaches And Restaurants

The Telegraph newspaper selected Villa Nurtan as its number one villa in its travel feature “The top 10 villa holidays in Turkey” both in 2015 and 2016. Contact us for your brochure. Villa Nurtan is the house that we built for ourselves, that we would be proud to live in and share with others. Take a look at the Villa Nurtan website to see what makes Villa Nurtan special. The villa is for those that want complete privacy and who will our enjoy our garden and the free produce that grows in it – including mulberries in May, herbs, tomatoes, salads, through the season, sweetcorn in late summer, grapes and figs in the Autumn. It is where to stay if you like a lot of space around you – both inside and out – whether you want to laze in a hammock, our wonderful pavilion, verandas or balconies. You can watch the natural world at your leisure – the bats and stars at night, birds swooping to drink at the pool, dragonflies over the water, the birds of prey overhead or just watch the garden grow. We have heavily invested in technology to reduce our footprint, for example not using chemicals in the pool and extracting our own water. We are part of the local community.

About John Cummins

Over the last 25 years we have travelled extensively in Turkey and have grown to love the Country, its citizens and rural way of life. We selected Orhaniye to live as it is completely unspoilt with no mass development. We found our ‘hidden valley’ location by accident. In 2004 we bought a field and built Villa Nurtan using our Turkish architect with local craftsmen from the village. The villa showcases the traditional crafts that still live on in the village. Everything we do has our own commitment to sustainability and the local environment in mind.

Why John Cummins chose Turkey

We believe that for many of our guests luxury travel has become much more experimental, involving a degree of immersion into the local community and culture they are visiting with the chance to enjoy authentic local experiences. Here you can experience a way of live largely untouched over the generations. Do not be surprised if as a Villa Nurtan guest you are offered food as well as a welcoming smile by our neighbours. Our guests experience a more relaxed way of living whilst staying in the most luxurious private villa in the area.

What makes this villa unique

Villa Nurtan is not an ‘identikit’ rental villa built on a budget by a developer. It is built to the highest standards as a year round home and a unique property carefully constructed by local craftsmen to fit in with the nature and rural community that surrounds it. Our guests often comment about the friendliness of the village and everyone they meet. Our defining beliefs about sustainable tourism drive very high levels of quality and strong links with the local community. We aim to be sustainable and fit in with the village life, working with a local team to build and maintain the villa and have heavily invested in technology to reduce our environmental footprint, for example not using chemicals in the pool and extracting our own water. We are part of the local community.

A 20,000W voltage regulator protects all guest electronic equipment against mains electric fluctuations. Outside: The outside area of the property features 1600 sqm of private gardens with mature shrubs, fresh vegetables, oranges, lemons, figs, mulberries and extensive gardens. There are two large verandas around the house for dining and sitting, a large traditional wooden pavilion by the pool, stone BBQ for dining and hammock to relax in. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Villa linen and bathroom towels provided. The villa is cleaned and linen changed twice a week by our cleaner who lives in the same hamlet. Other: Verandas: There is one large veranda used for dining and a second veranda with windows that trap the evening sun in Autumn and Spring, but which are taken out during the Summer to make another relaxing outdoor living area.
