About Mrs Tessa McManus

We have owned Woodpeckers from new, choosing it from the plan because of its position with one of the more secluded patios and proximity to the stream. We live in beautiful Dorset but love to go down to the cottage as often as we can to enjoy what Cornwall has to offer. We have tried to furnish and equip the cottage to make it feel like home from home. We hope our visitors enjoy it as much as we do. Eddie and Tessa McManus

Why Mrs Tessa McManus chose Truro & Falmouth area

We were told about Pendra Loweth by a friend who showed us a copy of the plans. Although we had not thought about buying a holiday property we decided to go and have a look for ourselves. We instantly felt it was the right thing to do and have never regretted our decision. Many of our friends and family have stayed in the cottage and we have had wonderful times with our children and grandchildren there, giving us lots of very happy memories. It really is one of the best decisions we have ever made.

What makes this cottage unique

The beaches at Swanpool and Maenporth are wonderful for children, especially Maenporth with the rock pools and caves. Our grandchildren absolutely love it and they have been able to take advantage of the organised activities on offer at the beach with friends they have made at Pendra Loweth. The village is a lovely safe environment for children to enjoy some freedom and make lasting friendships with others they meet there.

There are so many gardens to visit, boat trips from the pier in Falmouth, country and coastal walks and an endless choice of pubs and restaurants to eat in.

Peaceful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We really loved the house and surroundings. We chose the best week for peace and quiet, as most of the other properties were empty due to being out of season! Absolute peace, no phone signal to speak of. Bliss!!

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed it. Being in a valley the phone signal is a bit hit and miss but we find EE is the best

Nice cottage, peaceful surroundings.

  • 4 of 5

This is a very nice cottage. There was a bottle of wine and cookies as a welcome gift. Being close to the stream, sitting outside was a delight. The kitchen was fully stocked, from sharp knives to pie dishes, really good. The seating was a tad uncomfortable and showing its age. These are minor problems and overall very pleased.

Owner's Response: Sorry you found the seating uncomfortable. A new settee will be arriving in early June which we hope will be an improvement.

A very nice homely and well equipped holiday cottage.

  • 4 of 5

Ideal location for our family weekend for our grandchild's birthday in Falmouth. We wish we'd had more time to use the facilities of this lovely holiday village. We found our stay to be very relaxing and peaceful, the cottage had everything and more than we needed.

Super weekend break.

Wonderful stay.

  • 5 of 5

The property is lovely, great size, exactly what myself and my wife were after. The little holiday village is beautiful, peaceful and full of chirping birds to wake up to in the morning, very tranquil. Great base for visiting cornwall and falmouth is stunning. Simply could not recommend it enough. (Unless you want to go back when we do next year!)
