About the property

Two bedroom modern cottage close to local beaches

Woodpeckers is a comfortable, well equipped end of terrace cottage with open living, kitchen area. The kitchen has electric under oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. The living area has television, DVD and video player There are 2 bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds, ground floor cloakroom and first floor bathroom with shower over bath. The cottage is all electric with night store heater and an oil filled heater in the living area, wall mounted heaters in both bedrooms and heated towel rails in both the cloakroom and bathroom. The cottage has a Wi-Fi facility. Outside the south facing patio with barbecue has a good degree of privacy and there is an allocated parking space.

Pendra Loweth is set in a valley with a pretty stream running through the delightful gardens. There is a children's play area, gym with splash pool and a café/bar area. It is an ideal location to explore all Cornwall has to offer.

About Mrs Tessa McManus

We have owned Woodpeckers from new, choosing it from the plan because of its position with one of the more secluded patios and proximity to the stream. We live in beautiful Dorset but love to go down to the cottage as often as we can to enjoy what Cornwall has to offer. We have tried to furnish and equip the cottage to make it feel like home from home. We hope our visitors enjoy it as much as we do. Eddie and Tessa McManus

Why Mrs Tessa McManus chose Budock

We were told about Pendra Loweth by a friend who showed us a copy of the plans. Although we had not thought about buying a holiday property we decided to go and have a look for ourselves. We instantly felt it was the right thing to do and have never regretted our decision. Many of our friends and family have stayed in the cottage and we have had wonderful times with our children and grandchildren there, giving us lots of very happy memories. It really is one of the best decisions we have ever made.

What makes this cottage unique

The beaches at Swanpool and Maenporth are wonderful for children, especially Maenporth with the rock pools and caves. Our grandchildren absolutely love it and they have been able to take advantage of the organised activities on offer at the beach with friends they have made at Pendra Loweth. The village is a lovely safe environment for children to enjoy some freedom and make lasting friendships with others they meet there.

There are so many gardens to visit, boat trips from the pier in Falmouth, country and coastal walks and an endless choice of pubs and restaurants to eat in.

Really cozy and well equipped.

We stayed just after new year, the splash pool and sauna were closed for the season but there was so much to do they weren’t needed. We have a nearly 3yr old and a 14week old and there was so much to do in the area to keep us entertained rain or shine. The house itself is cozy and warm, well equipped and although small it didn’t feel like it - even with our energetic boy bouncing around. We took our meals ore made and frozen but had we needed to cook the kitchen was really well equipped.

Great cottage

We had fab weather for our 5 day stay at Woodpeckers. The cottage was well equipped and the bed rooms were comfy. Our teenage daughter was relieved there was WiFi too!

We drove all over and visited some spectacular beaches: Porthcurno/Kynance/Holywell/Botallack/Durgan/Trelissick--basically Poldark locations and National Trust.

Had fun at the pitch and putt up on the road to Swanpool. Ate out in Falmouth a couple of evenings then used the well equipped kitchen to cook. Enjoyed the afternoon sun on the patio out the back. Fab break away from it all.

The beaches of both Swanpool and Maenporth are approximately a mile away. They both provide water sport equipment and have café facilities.

Distances:

Falmouth, with The National Maritime Museum, is a few minutes' drive and the County town of Truro is some ten miles distant. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Helligan are about a 45 minute drive away.
