This stylish new 2 bedroom air conditioned apartment is meters away from the sea. With a large communal pool and shallow children’s pool, it is an ideal base for a family holiday. The outside dining area provides the perfect setting in the evening to enjoy a Mojito or have nice romantic dinners. You can enjoy the tranquillity of having sun downers whilst watching the sunset over the Cretan sea! There is a choice of 3 apartments to rent. If the one you are viewing is fully booked we have another Two. Please inquire. This ground floor apartment is situated in a small community of elegant villas and apartments, some set in their own private area with a large communal swimming pool, all properties offer traditional features with modern building specifications, creating a new yet rustic dwellings in a peaceful seaside setting. Panormo is very suitable for families of all ages.

About John Goodwin

My wife Robyn and I live in the South of England in the New Forest. We fell in love with Greece and the lifestyle 30 years ago. For the last 25 years I have run my own Greek property Consultancy. I have been involved in the design and construction of over 100 Greek properties specializing in Crete and the island of Alonissos.

My wife and I personally own 3 apartments at Panorama Seafront Homes which we rent out and take regularly holiday there with our family and friends. We kept the 3 apartments because we knew we could rent them out easily. Our plan is to live there for several months of the year when we retire. Panorama Seafront Homes stand just meters from the sea, You have the choice of swimming in the pool or at one of the sandy beaches. We just love the 10 minute evening stroll to enjoy the food in the wonderful traditional tavernas in Panormo village. The apartment where designed by one of Greece's top architects and the interiors are modern and fitted out to a very high standard that you wont see elsewhere in Crete. As most apartments are privately owned holiday homes the pool is never overcrowded, some days you get it all to your self.

We always take a trip by bus, ferry boat or hire car to Rethymno old town and harbour front is full of life and one can spend hours walking around the narrow lanes window shopping, there is a great choice of restaurants and lively bars to suit all tastes

Booking Notes:
Booking notes
Once a booking is agreed, a booking form will be emailed. The holiday will be held as a provisional booking for seven days, while the form is completed and returned, along with a deposit.

For holidays booked more than 8 weeks before the holiday start date, the deposit is 10% of the booking cost. The balance is payable 8 weeks before departure. For holidays booked within 8 weeks of the start date, the full value of the booking will be required. Payments can be made by Bank.

Changeover Day:
There is no specific changeover day. Arrival from 14.30 and departure before 10.30. You can use the pool and public bathroom during the day of arrival or departure.

Notes on accommodation: Panormo, the local fishing village is within easy walking distance. The village has great tavernas, an Italian restaurant, several bars, a good bakery, butchers, supermarkets and a range of tourist shops. From most of the tavernas, one can look down over the beautiful village harbour and its stunning sandy beach. This is great if you have children, you can sit in a taverna having lunch while watching the kids swimming and playing on the beach. Custom designed furniture and comfortable mattresses make the accommodation functional and fun. Family friendly and suitable for children of all ages. Outside: Patio doors lead from the apartments living area to a large sun terrace area with table and chairs. The terrace enjoys great pool views and is ideal place to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The terraced cascading swimming pool is is in 3 sections with waterfalls between. There is also a small children's paddling pool. There is a BBQ area approx 150 meters from the apartment just a few meters from the sea.

No 8 Panorama Seafront Homes

Our holiday in Apartment No 8 was just what we had hoped for. We were a party of 4 and arrived late at night and let ourselves in. The apartment was immaculate and the provisions we had pre-ordered had been delivered, beers and wine in the fridge, milk coffee, eggs, bacon etc ready for breakfast in the morning. The beds were very comfortable and the aircon efficient.

The location was peaceful and ideal for chilling out.

The swimming pool and surroundings were well kept and cleaned daily and there was an ample supply of sun beds and umbrellas.

The restaurants in Panormo village served a varied selection of fresh food that would appeal to all tastes, the village harbour, and sandy beaches were only a 10-minute walk from the apartments.

We explored Rethymno Town and really enjoyed the shopping and night life. We also enjoyed a day trip to the South coast and Preveli Monastery.

We would not hesitate to recommend the apartments and we have re booked for 2017.

Great apartment in a lovely location

Very clean and modern apartment with good all round facilities. Close to the sea and the town, but quiet enough for a really relaxing break. Couldn't have asked for much more.

Clean, spacious, with a lovely pool. Walking distance from a charming small village.

The apartment was lovely, although we were a little bit worried on our first approach as the road to it became a dirt track. It's not far along the track though, so we need not have worried. The directions were clear, and we had no difficulty finding it. The pool is big with plenty of space around it, with umbrellas and loungers.

The apartment complex is 10-15 minutes leisurely walk from the village. Take a torch for walking at night - it is dark in places, which is good for seeing the night sky, but the track was uneven.

The kitchen in the apartment is reasonably well-equipped: certainly enough utensils for anything we might have attempted. The fridge and freezer is big, so it's possible to stock up well.

There are a few small beaches in Panormo, of which the one on the road past the unfinished church is our favourite. Just to the west of Panormo though is a much better one, under the Geronimo (something like that) bridge on the new national road. Worth the short drive, and the road down to it is not as steep as it looks.

Klados winery, just east of the village, is worth the short trip. Melidoni cave is only a few km away, also worth visiting. We bought bread for a picnic from a shop in a tiny village on the way there: best bread I've had in years. Ate it sitting on a bench outside the caves, looking down over the valley. Splendid.

Panormo is a quiet and charming village, the opposite of the resort of Bali only a few km to the east! Choose wisely. The apartment complex is just on the edge of the village, and was very peaceful. Of course, that depends on who is in the other apartments, but we spent time sitting reading, with the sound of the birds, the breeze in the palm trees, and the trickling of the water in the pool being the accompanying noise. If the wind blows from the south, you can hear sound from heavier vehicals on the new national road, which is the price of having convenient access to it. We didn't find it to be a problem.

On that road, from Panormo you can get to Chania in about 1.5 hours, Rethymnon in about 30mins, Iraklion in a little under an hour.

All in all, a lovely place to stay.

Lovely Apartment, Lovely location

We stayed in Apartment 8, the furnishings and decor were of good quality and included large wardrobes and storage space. The kitchen and laundry equipment were more than enough to cover a family’s needs. Our large sun terrace overlooked the swimming pools which were cleaned daily and provided for all ages from toddlers to adults.

Panormo village was just a short walk away with excellent sea and beach view restaurants. The village shops included several small supermarkets, a butchers and bakery. There were also tourist shops and travel agents if you wanted to go on an organised excursion. The food was always fresh and of excellent quality and very good value for money. We were surprised at the number of both locals and holidaymakers who smiled and said hello walking to and from the apartments. In summary everything about our holiday superseded our expectations.

Great pool but not value for money

The location of this apartment is great, just on outskirts of Panormo village. Handy for the beautiful beaches and restaurants. Panormo is friendly and has many shops both for foods and gifts.

The apartment is in a great situation with terraces and the 3 pools which were immaculate and we all enjoyed. Whilst we supervised our children in the water, there was a life guard mentioned but we never saw one.

However, the apartment not well appointed -very sparse in terms of kitchen equipment. No welcome pack - most other rental accom will leave tea/coffee, water, even biscuits and wine. There was none of this in the apartment. Neither was there an info pack with sights /excursions in the local area. The owner had sent us some details before we left and I had expected to see copies of this in an info folder, along with local tours, sights etc but there was nothing. On the plus side the apartment was clean and, as we stayed 2weeks, was cleaned mid-way through the holiday. When the kettle broke, it was replaced promptly. So probably could have raised these points during the stay but a) was in full holiday relaxation mode and b) was not clear if it would have made much difference. (Too late for a welcome pack anyway). Also, no one's fault, but there was a nest of swifts on the terrace which resulted in a daily mess and a lot of feathery activity at dusk.

All in all, had expected a bit more for the price.

Owner's Response: Really sorry it was not what you expected. Many of our guests come back to stay in our apartments year after year and we receive great reviews. Two weeks before guests arrive we send by email information about the apartment, directions from the airport, a map of Panormo village, recommended Car Hire, Taxi Companies and how to order a Welcome Pack, plus a list of recommended restaurants, beaches, places to visit. The information is also available on an App for computers and mobile phones that is sent to guests directly by Owners Direct and can be accessed anywhere anytime. My apartments are self catering and are fully equipped, guests that order a Welcome Pack, find their fridge and freezer stocked upon arrival. A Life Guard is there every day between 10.00am and 6.00pm. They have red shirts with Life Guard on their backs. All my apartments have Greek Tourist Board licenses (EOT) and are inspected yearly and have to be equipped to a high standard. There is a list of everything in the apartment on the Owners Direct website.

Wonderful relaxing location

The photos say it all, we walked out of the apartment straight onto the pool area which was clean and the water refreshing. The apartment gets the Sun in the afternoon-Evening.

The apartment was clean and well maintained and had everything I think you would need for a Holiday.

The Panormos area was wonderful with lots of restaurants/tavernas serving excellent fare, the beach in the harbour was sheltered and sun beds were free if you bought a drink, a no brainer, spent many a day just sitting watching the waves whilst being waited on.

Unfortunately, nothing is perfect, I had to watch England play Russia! ☹

The week passed far to quickly and we wished we had stayed longer.

Lovely place to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
