The house was originally built in the historic village of Deiá over 300 years ago. It has all the charm of ancient stone and pretty shutters and, as it is an old house, is designed to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. Deiá is a spectacularly beautiful village and is nestled in the Tramuntana mountain range. The property benefits from panoramic views of the village and the towering mountains and, unlike many other properties in Deiá, enjoys sun from morning 'til evening. The house is in the original village of Deiá which is a protected area where swimming pools are prohibited. However, there is a beautiful outdoor shower for cooling off and the stunning Cala Deiá is only a 20 minute walk or 5 minute car drive away. Why Carrie Goldsmith chose Deia (Deya)
We chose Deia as the place for us to spend time away from home as we had both visited previously and been struck by it's beauty and charm. Deia is only 30 minutes from Palma airport and the climate is gorgeous for most of the year.

A Lovely House
I agree with all previous reviews... perfect house and location. This is the best one - by far - that we have rented in Deia
We stayed at C'an La in Deia in early May and were lucky enough to have 2 weeks of fantastic weather, this was our second stay at the property in 6 months. We love Mallorca and Deia and the surrounding areas in particular. The house itself is in the heart of the historic village and typical Mallorcan style, it is easy walking to the local shops and also the many cafe's, lively bars and restaurants as well as a small weekly market. It is also the perfect base for walking in the Tramuntana Mountains where there are some wonderful serious walks or the gentler walk along the coast to Soller or the short walk down to the nearest beach at Cala Deia for a swim and leisurely lunch. The house itself more than lives up to the photos and is perfect for our needs, clean, well presented and equipped, and tastefully furnished. We loved the changes to bathrooms and kitchen since our last visit. As the weather was perfect we always ate and spent most of our time outside on one of the three terraces, all with stunning views of the village and mountains. Watching the sun set over the mountains whilst enjoying a glass of wine was a delightful end to the day. The large terrace off the master bedroom is the perfect place for sun worshipping whilst on the lower levels sitting relaxing in the shade of the trees looking out over the village and watching the world go by is idyllic.
Due to this location there is no parking at the property but upon arrival you are given a residents permit which enables you to park in many spaces in the village, the closest just a short walk at the bottom of the steps, we never had any problem finding a space close by.
Thoroughly recommend as a place to stay, the owners were a pleasure to deal with and accommodating as were the managing agents in Deia who look after the property. It is like a home from home and are looking forward to our next visit.
Ca'n la is an wonderful villa and we greatly enjoyed our time there. The house's traditional wooden furnishings create a sense of authentic Mallorcan charm and modern utilities (like the lovely open plan kitchen) afford comfort. All of this is set in the context of large windows framing views of the valley and the bright, white walls give the house a light and cheerful feel. Though perhaps this villa's greatest asset is the monumental views of the valley from the spacious balcony. The mountains, which in the day appear to be a patchwork of vibrant green pine forests and golden rock faces and by evening time, are swathed in a crimson glow as they reflect the intense colours of the sun as it dips below the horizon out to sea. On top of this, it is a great advantage to be so close to Deia's centre, as after a short walk you can be amongst lively bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. We definitely plan to stay here again.
Stunning setting with magnificent views
"C'an La is a magical place. We spent a week at this lovely house in May 2015 and were amazed at the wonderful views of Deia and the majestic mountains. The villa was very comfortable and beautifully furnished. We were spoilt with the choice of three terraces to sit on, all with lovely views and sun all day, surrounded by lovely garden plants and scent of rosemary and lemons. The villa was very convenient, only 5 minutes walk to the shops, restaurants etc yet very peaceful and private. I highly recommend C'an La and will definitely be returning!"
Ca'n La Deia
Beautiful house set in the lovely town of Deia on the island of Mallorca. Highly recommended and the owners could not have been more helpful. Will go again.
We booked a short break in the villa to celebrate a new job and for a bit of r&r before the onset of uni finals. Although the weather was mixed the house and setting were faultless. Deia is a small but beautiful gem in the Mallorcan countryside and the views from the terraces across the mountains were fabulous, especially at sunset when the mountains turn gold. The walk down to the cove was lovely and the little restaurant down there looks great, it was just getting ready token for the season so we didn't have chance to try it. Highly recommend the Chinese but do book as only very small. The house was very comfortable and well equipped too if you do want to self cater.

The Cala Deia is a 20 minute walk from Ca'n La or a 5 minute drive.
Deia is 36.6 kilometres from Palma Airport. There are a multitude of car hire companies available at the airport and Ca'n La has resident parking for one car in the many resident parking bays in the village.
Deia is 12.5 kilometres from the Port de Sóller and 10.5 kilometres from the picturesque town of Valldemossa.
The house is two minutes walk from a huge selection of restaurants including: La Residencia's El Olivio, tapas favourite Xelini, Es Raco de's Teix, The Village Cafe, Sa Cova (excellent Chinese), the wonderful Sebastian's and many more.
A car is a must if you wish to explore the island. There are several car rental companies at the airport. There are also regular buses to and from Deia, from Palma, Valldemossa and Soller.
There are tennis courts in Deia village and a golf course within 30 mins drive, There are Water Parks dotted around the island and most can be reached within an hour's drive.

- Notes on accommodation: Outside: The property has three separate terraces. The lower terrace features sun beds, shaded by a jacaranda tree and a fabulous outdoor shower. The middle terrace is outside the kitchen and has an outdoor dining table as well as built in seating for relaxing and enjoying the views. The upper terrace can be accessed from the middle terrace via a beautiful spiral staircase or through the master bedroom french doors. This terrace makes a lovely cocktail/chill-out area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning on demand can be arranged. Bed linen and towels are included in the rental as well as white cotton waffle bathrobes. Other: Each bedroom features beautiful hand crafted wooden bed frames. All rooms have ceiling fans that work beautifully to keep you cool. There is a safe with key in the closet of Bedroom 2.
