There is gas central heating throughout and a log burner in the comfortable well-equipped lounge. The sunny enclosed garden has a sitting out area and a brick barbecue. There is parking on the street just outside cottage. Tayport is an attractive and historic village situated on the River Tay. The cottage is an ideal base for golfing, cycling and family holidays.

quiet cosy cottage

had a lovely time in Tayport although was cold. From the cottage everything is in walking distance. It was nice and peace which I needed after recovering from a bad broken ankle.

The dog love chasing the birds every day and nosing at the gate watching people go by.

The local shops are good and Chinese good value for money

Cute and cosy

We have just spent the most comfortable few days at Ogilvy cottage.

It is a well planned updated 2 bedroomed cottage.

The downstairs bedroom has an en suite with superb walk in shower. The upstairs bedroom has a huge, comfortable bed with the upstairs separate bathroom with shower over the bath.

There are lovely lamps, pictures, ornaments, clocks, mirrors, cushions and throws everywhere.

The cottage is lovely and warm and has almost every piece of crockery, pan, cutlery & electric implement that you could need.

A kitchen table seats 4 easily. The sitting room has comfy seats and tv. Free WIfi too.

The garden is quite narrow- but long and you can get the sun for most of the day. Table and chairs provided outside.

Tayport is a lovely, small town with most essential shops, 2 pubs, lovely café at the harbour, dentist, school, doctor, library and plenty of buses to get about.

St Andrews and Perth are less than half an hour away and Tentismuir forest and beautiful beach less than 15 mins away. The area is great for golfers, fishermen,joggers and cyclists.

Anne, the owner is very helpful and quick to reply to E-mails and texts.

Ogilvy cottage is excellent value for the price and I would recommend it to anyone.

Charming terraced cottage with nice rear garden. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was cold when we were there and the log burner was real treat and the central heating was very efficient.

There is a small supermarket, Chinese takeaway and pub all within easy walking distance.

Great service and good communication from very pleasant owner.

Great stay

I really enjoyed my recent stay in Ogilvie cottage. The cottage is cosy, very clean, deceptively spacious and has an individual stylish interior that is a nice mix of old, new and quirky with antique wooden floors and furnishings sitting comfortably beside plasma screens, a wood burning stove and local art works. The owners have paid great attention to ensuring that all guests needs are catered for from the well appointed kitchen with its excellent cooking facilities to provision of books and games for rainy days with plenty of information on local attractions and facilities . Although the cottage is an easy walk to the centre of the village there was little through traffic at night ensuring a good night’s sleep. I’d love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the lovely peaceful garden and its brick BBQ. A small supermarket is an easy 5 minute walk from the cottage and there is a good Chinese/fish and chip takeaway nearby if you don’t feel like cooking. Visitors unable to manage stairs can take advantage of the downstairs bedroom with its en suite shower and toilet.

Tayport makes a great base for visiting Dundee, St Andrews and the surrounding area. There are regular buses to both (half hourly) and there are also lovely walking and cycling routes from the cottage itself, either along the estuary (once you can drag yourself out of the Harbour Café) or out to Tentsmuir National nature reserve and the Morton lochs to try and catch views of otters, seals, red squirrels, water fowl and kingfishers. Don’t miss the DCA and McManus art galleries in Dundee, Discovery Point at the waterfront, the coffee shops and beach of nearby Broughty Ferry, the historical town of St Andrews and the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. It would make a great base for golfers, cyclists, walkers or families. I look forward to coming back.

The cottage is close to a small supermarket and good takeaways. The village also has a selection of small shops such as chemist, post office, butchers and a community café beside the harbour. Tayport also has a tennis club close to the cottage, where visitors are welcome. There are at least 3 cash machines in village.

St Andrews, the famous home of golf, has numerous golf courses, historic buildings and many good restaurants, cafes and shops to explore.

The East Neuk of Fife is famous for it quaint fishing villages and towns .

Dundee is Scotland's 4th largest city and is in process of a new and exciting waterfront development, which will include a new satellite of the V&A, this will have a spectacular setting on the edge of the river when it opens in 2016.

Dundee's highlights are the RRS Discovery, Verdant Works Jute museum; both are examples of Dundee's historic past. There is also more contemporary exhibitions at the Dundee Contemporary Art (DCA) and The McManus which houses Dundee’s museum and art galleries. Dundee caters to wide range of tastes and will not disappoint.
