My husband has lived in Budleigh Salterton all of his life, and I come from neighbouring Exmouth. We live in Budleigh Salterton, only 5 minutes walk away from the Cottages, with our three young children.
Leticia Vaughan purchased this cottage in 2011
The cottages were converted from old barns, thought to have been originally used as farm buildings, but were just used as storage over the last 50 years.
We completed the conversions in March 2014.
Immaculate group of three self catering holiday cottages : beautifully renovated cottages in a courtyard formation (we stayed in both Lobster and Crab)with stylish furnishings, décor and landscaping. Kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lots of thoughtful touches - from cleaning equipment to a supply of DVDs and a dog bed and bowl! The cottages are right in the centre of Budleigh Salterton in a quiet street - perfect for strolling down to the beach or nipping to the High Street where there is a good choice of restaurants. A great base for a relaxed holiday with / without teenagers - walks, biking, shops, restaurants, fast wi-fi in the house all went down well. Leticia is a fab host! Thoroughly recommended - we will definitely be back for yet another visit!
My husband and I were so pleased when we opened the front door of Lobster Cottage for the first time. The interior is stunning, set out in co-ordinating colours, comfortable and appealing furniture, all mod cons, spotlessly clean, and homely. The setting is perfect, a stones throw from both the beach and the town, but surprisingly quiet and unoverlooked. The patio garden was perfect for outdoor eating on a summer evening, but local restaurants, and pubs were also sampled and enjoyed. We had some nice strolls along the seafront, and pottered around the local shops. We were impressed by the friendliness of the townsfolk generally and were warmly welcomed by Letitia. We do not usually return to a previous holiday location, but this one may well be the exception. Thoroughly recommended.
