Stunning Trullo And Villa With Fenced Pool

Overview

Property

Updated: 07-Dec-2016
Trullo and Villa near Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Alberobello. Peaceful Location In The Idyllic Itria Valley, 30 Minutes Drive From The Coast, Safe For Children

A wonderful place all year round which offers lots of things to do. Ideal for two families or a group of friends. The two houses are detached and completely self-sufficient, yet within close reach of one another. Large garden with lawn and 10 x 10 mt-pool with generous surrounding area and dining table. We are confident we can recommend this property to anyone, including families with small children (our own kids grew up here). The property is a tranquil, safe and child-friendly environment, the pool is protected by a fence. The garden has a great variety of fruit and olive trees, some hundreds of years old. There are many attractions in the area: Lots of little towns with wonderful historical centres, Unesco heritage sites like Alberobello (just 15 minutes by car) and Matera, Lecce with its amazing baroque, lots of beaches on both coasts, countless typical restaurants for all budgets...Upon arrival you will find your complimentary Welcome Kit with useful information about the area, such as restaurants, places to see, things to do etc.

About the Owner

My husband, Alessandro, and I have been living in this wonderful area for several years now. Alessandro was born and raised in Martina Franca while I'm originally from Munich (Germany). The Trullo and land have been in Alessandro's family for seven generations (it was build by an ancestor). We have restored it very carefully, focusing on keeping its original features, such as the exposed stone arches and the century-old limestone on the floor. At the same time, we have built a new house on the land which we wanted to blend in with the local architecture without trying to look ancient. We have spent a lot of time exploring this enchanting region and love to share our findings and experience with people who come and visit us.

Perfect Villa for Our Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 10, including two young children, enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing 10 day holiday at Trullo Fumarola. Ina & Sandro were welcoming and attentive hosts, easily contactable and happy to assist us with some business administration which had to be attended to during our stay. The very large pool, fruit orchard & outside dining facilities were favourite features and the location is great - quite secluded, but within easy driving distance of both Martina Franca & Locorotondo. Another highlight for us was a celebration dinner one evening, prepared and served by a local chef recommended by Ina. We found the property to be exactly as described & pictured on the website and the instructions for finding it were exceptionally detailed and clear. Thank you Ina & Sandro.

Ticks all the boxes and much, much, more!

  • 5 of 5

We were three families totalling 11 people with kids ranging from 2 to 9.

We stayed for the last two weeks of July and we could easily have stayed longer.

It was fantastic, beautiful grounds, amazing swimming pool, gorgeous villa and trullo, it had everything and superb value as well.

We had more then enough space and everybody was extremely comfortable, especially the kids.

The location is fantastic as well, close to the beach, the caves, medieval villages and of course Matera.

Finally it's worth mentioning the hosts are always on hand to help with any queries or resolving problems, they understand perfectly well your needs and nothing is too much trouble for them.

I would recommend wholeheartedly!

Lovely Villa! Great location and fantastic pool

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful property and a perfect place for a family gathering. Hiring both villa and trullo means lots of room for everyone and a comfortable stay. The pool and grounds are gorgeous and wonderful for small children. Both are beautifully finished and fully equipped. Ina and Sandro were incredibly helpful during our stay and always around if we needed help. I would highly recommend Villa Fumarola!

Amazing trullo & villa in fantastic rural setting

  • 5 of 5

We rented the trullo & villa for two weeks with our whole family. The pictures don't do the place justice, its beautiful, spacious, and in a lovely area where you can see other trullo's from every angle. Ina & Sandro are brilliant hosts and really helped us deal with a sick child. Would definitely recommend highly!

living up to all expectations

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with two families at Trullo Formarola last week of April. All was exactly as hoped for from the pictures. High standards, good wifi for the kids and a very handy booklet made by Ina and Sandro with special restaurants, things to do and places of interest. As Dutch families we also rented bikes - Ina organized delivery and pick up at the bike trail near Martina Franca. We can highly recommend.

Location

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach, on the Adriatic coast, is about 30 minutes by car. At about 1 hour’s drive is the Ionian coast which we definitely recommend you explore. Puglia is long and narrow, with the sea on almost all sides, so there are hundreds of miles of coastline, with countless places of all kinds: Fully equipped beach clubs for all budgets, free beaches with high dunes and great scenery and anything in between. We will be happy to supply you with directions to what we think are the best places.

Travel:

Nearest airports are Bari and Brindisi, both at about 1 hour's drive. It is essential to have a car in this area as public transport is scarce to use an euphemism. Cars can be easily rented at the airports. It is very important to book your car in advance.

In case you arrive late or want to avoid the hassle of food shopping on your first day, we can do this for you, as well as organising catering for your first evening's dinner. Please write to us for more details.

Distances:

Nearby towns: Martina Franca, famous for its ancient baroque centre and the opera festival in summer, is just 4 km away. Even nearer is Locorotondo which holds the official title “uno dei borghi piu belli d’italia” (“one of Italy’s most beautiful villages”). Famous Alberobello, a Unesco World Heritage Site, can be reached in about 15 minutes by car. Also nearby are Cisternino and Ostuni, two very pretty and lively towns. Lecce, the capital of baroque architecture is about one hour's drive away.

Further Details:

The area offers many attractions, with loads of interesting festivals, countless wonderful towns and places to visit and explore. It is also a great area when you are on vacation with children. We can offer some experience on this topic as our twin boys grew up here.

There are great restaurants for all budgets and the most delicious local produce in case you prefer to cook.

We will be happy to supply you with information and directions.
