Les Fermes de Samoens is in the beautiful historic village of Samoens. The Apartment is on the ground floor, there is always a sunny spot to be found on the decking whatever the time of day. We have added a few luxury items for pure indulgence 10 boot/glove warmer and a 18 bottle wine/beer chiller but to name a few. 2 comfy sofas, cushions on dining seating, blue ray DVD player music system with Aux connection, block of English sockets for charging phones etc. In the reception building there is a small indoor pool, steam and sauna room (one free 30 min session per week) pool table payable.

About Alison and Stephen Fletcher

Stephen & Alison Fletcher. We first skied in the Grand Massif in 2004 and immediately fell in love with Samoens village. It has a unique old village charm and atmosphere. Yet only an 8 minute gondola ride you are in to an extensive varied ski area. We have owned the apartment since 2004 but are now managing it our selves. We have taken the opportunity to refurbish it to our requirements and for clients who appreciate an apartment which is well equipped.

We have holidayed all over France and love the country and people. So buying in a dual season resort seemed the right thing to do. There is fabulous skiing.Lots of actives in the summer. All set in the most beautiful scenery.

Fantastic ski chalet

Everything about this chalet is fantastic. It is about 25m from the bus stop and then a couple of minutes bus ride to the gondola. The apartment is a good size for four people with a collection of films and games to entertain us on winter nights. There are wonderful restaurants within walking distance and this apartment is in a lovely quiet area whilst still being within walking distance of the centre. The apartment catches the afternoon sun and it is lovely sitting out on the deck. The kitchen is modern, clean and very well stocked. The boot warmer is a great touch, it was really nice to have warm ski boots and gloves to put on each morning. We enjoyed relaxing in the pool and Sauna after a hard day skiing.

We love this property. It is warm and cosy, very well equipped and always clean. Plenty of space.

We had a lovely stay in Samoens.. The property was ready when we arrived a bit early. The town is so pretty and the ski area is suitable for all abilities. The ski hire was easy and stress free with Terry in the ski hire shop,being very helpful and friendly. We will certainly come back. The owners provide a very good service.Thank you for letting us stay.

Great place to stay

We recently booked a short (5-day) break in Samoëns and very much enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was our second visit to Samoëns, which is a very charming and traditional village. The apartment is well-situated in a quiet area, on the outskirts but only a short walk from the centre, and the ski-bus stops right outside ! The apartment itself is very homely and well-maintained. The boot warmer inside the apartment and separate ski-locker in the hall is a definite bonus ! We also appreciated the large, underground parking space which was easily accessible. There are English wall sockets in the apartment, for those bringing UK electrical chargers, etc., as well as a few 2-pin sockets for visitors (like us) coming from elsewhere in the EU. Although wi-fi is available in the apartment, it is not free. We would definitely book again if we return to the area.

Ferme De Samoens 2 Bed Apartment. An excellent apartment.

The apartment is clean modern and very well equipped. There are two Bedrooms, a good double and a good sized 2nd room with bunk beds. The kitchen lounge dining area is compact but accommodates 4 in comfort. The Kitchen facilities are fantastic for a property of this type and size.

The apartment is on the ground floor of a block and whilst it's location is a bit far from the lifts to walk in ski boots there is a very efficient free ski bus service that stops outside. The apartment is in the Ferme De Samoen complex and benefits from the use of a communal indoor pool.

We had a really good trip and would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful property and if we return to Samoens would certainly book again.

In the next village Morillion the is a swimming lake with sandy beach and grass area. Approx 2 miles.

Travel:

Nearest Airport: Geneva 1 hour drive.

Nearest Port: Calais it is 535 miles and takes about 8 hours to drive.

Nearest Train station: Cluses 12 miles.

Samoens

The village is alive with a lovely friendly atmosphere. It is the only French ski resort to be listed as a historic monument with the centre of the village dating back to the early 13th century much of it built by stone masons for which the village became famous. It has a beautiful 8 acre botanical garden that recently celebrated its centenary. The Giffre river flows through the village with rafting from Sixt down to Samoens passing through a narrow gorge on the way. There is an outdoor swimming pool in the village with a water slide and a lake close to it with a golf driving range into the water. Col de Joux Plane is the mountain road that links Samoens with Morzine and is sometimes used as a stage on the Tour de France. It has great views of Mont Blanc from its summit. If you prefer to self-cater, Carrefour have a good sized supermarket on the outskirts of Samoens. There are also two small supermarkets in the village within walking distance plus numerous banks/ATM's. In July and August, 7 of the Grand Massif lifts run including the Gondola out of the village so walkers and mountain bikers are well catered for. There are challenging downhill bike routes graded blue to black.
