About the Owner

We are a family of 4 and live and work in Switzerland. We have a great passion for property, with a keen eye on great locations. We enjoy cooking, spending time with friends, good restaurants and pubs. Having some outdoor space is very important to us and we try and create areas that allow us and our guests to eat outside, relax, sunbathe etc.

Spotlessly clean property with wonderful views over the harbour.

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we stepped in through the door we felt relaxed and at home. It was warm and inviting.Excellent quality renovation. It had everything we needed for a short break. Would have loved to have stayed longer as we loved Mevagissey at this time of year.It was lovely to sit by the bay window and watch the fishing boats return in the morning. House was quiet and only a stone's throw away from the heart of Mevagissey. Would definately recommend. Excellent communication with owner.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I love Mevagissey in the winter - watching the boats in the harbour but also the spectacular waves crash over the harbour walls when the weather is rough.

A Great Property with a Fantastic View of the Harbour

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house on the hill in Mevagissey. Even though it was a period house the inside was tastefully decorated, had a modern kitchen and plenty of space. The coastal and harbour views were fantastic, and it was just a short walk to the picturesque town. Overall a great few days away. We would definitely return to this property.

Lovely house in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a great week in Mevagissey and wish we could have stayed for longer. The house was bigger than I was expecting which was a bonus for our 3 generations group of 7. My 5 and 6 year old boys loved watching the boats coming and going and loved walking down to the harbour to go crabbing.

There are great beaches near by

Would happily go back

Another great holiday!

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic property furnished and equipped to a high standard and giving a wonderful view across Mevagissey harbour. This was our 3rd visit to this property - it is an ideal family destination. This time we stayed close to Mevagissey with our trips out and found plenty to do. Whether relaxing on local beaches or visiting the Eden Project and hiring cycles locally we had no time to be bored. I have been coming to Mevagissey for many years and will continue to do so as it is a beautiful place and Bayview is an ideal to stay. Great communication too. Looking forward to the next visit! Thank you.

Excellent well equippied cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommended.

Very clean and well equipped cottage in a great location, with stunning views over the harbour.

Easy handover procedure which was able to fit in with early morning flights to and from Newquay airport.

Just a few minutes walk down to the quay and the local shops, pubs and restaurants all with locally sourced products to enjoy.

Local beers and gins to try. Scones and cream were excellent in Tea on the Quay.

35 minute ferry ride to Fowey leaves from the lighthouse side of the harbour.

Allow plenty of time if you want to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan which you can walk to (about 40mins) or reach with a short bus ride.

Entrance is free (donation) to Mevagissey museum and aquarium.

This has got to be the ideal place for a traditional Cornish holiday !

Location

From the Owner

We came across Bayview Cottage in 2010 and decided to make an offer within 1 hour of viewing the cottage. We were won over by the fantastic location and the unparalleled views.

Polstreath beach, with its 200 steps, is located just to the north of Mevagissey, a 15 minute walk from Bayview Cottage; Portmellon beach, situated in a small cove to the east of Mevagissey, is a 15 minute walk from the cottage with a lovely pub overlooking the beach. Pentewan is a long shingle beach about one mile from Mevagissey.

The closest airports are Newquay airport (20 miles) and Exeter airport (87 miles). St. Austell is the nearest town with a bus and train station and a taxi rank.
