Modern, well equipped house with fabulous views. 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, Dog friendly

Harbour View is a child and dog friendly holiday home which has been imaginatively designed to make the most of its outstanding setting and wonderful views. It has an an elevated position close to the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath and is situated just minutes from the beach.

The house occupies a quiet and convenient location, free from passing traffic and just a 10 minute walk away from the beach. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath virtually passes the front door, making this a great spot for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. It is also located near to village shops and amenities. There is private parking at the rear of the property.

Harbour View is modern and well equipped, offering the perfect location for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. The house sleeps 6 people in three bedrooms, two with double beds and a third room with two single beds. A travel cot is provided. Bedrooms 1 and 3 have spectacular sea views and the property has both a bathroom and a shower room.

The living accommodation is located on the first floor. This includes a large sitting room with a wood burning stove, luxury three piece leather suite, and a 42” flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player.

The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with integrated gas hob with electric fan oven, microwave oven, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle. The kitchen area incorporates an open-plan dining area and has French doors which open from the kitchen onto a first floor external deck equipped with table and chairs. The deck offers wonderful views over Fishguard harbour and the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline – a perfect spot for enjoying alfresco breakfasts, lunches and suppers as well as being the perfect spot to sit and watch the sun go down over a bottle of wine.

There is a stylish, compact shower room with toilet, washbasin and Miras shower cubicle located on the first floor. The family bathroom with bath, toilet and wash basin is located on the ground floor, along with a utility room which is equipped with a washing machine, ironing board and iron, collapsible airer and storage space.

A basket of wood for the wood-burning stove is provided on arrival and bedding, bed linen and towels are all included (you will need to bring your own beach towels). Extra wood can be purchased locally.

Outside there is a walled garden to the front of the property. The level rear garden has rear access to the property and is totally enclosed. The garden is mainly laid to lawn, with a raised patio area where there is a table and chairs. A portable barbecue is provided. All entrances are gated to provide extra security for children. Private parking at the rear.

Harbour View is a dog friendly holiday cottage. Dogs are welcome downstairs in accordance with our Dog Guidelines.

This is a no smoking property.

Why james Stokes chose Pembrokeshire

Its lovely here, relaxed and easy going. The cottage is in a peaceful location and has great views of the coast but it is not remote and Goodwick is not particularly a holiday village, - real life is here and the people who live here the year round are warm and friendly; the overall atmosphere is laid back and happy.

What makes this house unique

Harbour View is just that, an ordinary house with exceptional views. The coastal path is right outside the garden gate and offers the freedom to walk for 180 miles.

The house is well equipped and designed to make the best of the panoramic views across the harbour and beyond.The decking which is accessible from the first floor kitchen provides a great outdoor space with unobstructed views across Fishguard Bay and along the coast for as far as the eye can see. A local bus stops close to the house and offers guests the opportunity to leave the car at home and walk along the coastal path as far as they wish before then catching the bus home. Refer to local bus timetables for more information about bus services and times.

As well as being close to Goodwick Sands which offers safe bathing from the sheltered sandy beach the house makes an ideal base for exploring all that the Pembrokshire National Park has to offer; hidden sandy coves, little coastal villages, beautiful sandy beaches, and hills. Then when you get fed up with beaches there are boat trips to see dolphins, seals and porpoises, and the wonderful tiny city of St Davids is a must see.

I have a few reviews, I asked for one and the rest came anyway. In my crazy round about way, the fact that no body has ever been dissapointed is the best review of all. I now have many returning customers and that gives me the confidence to say that the reality of Harbour View goes beyond its description and photographs.

Notes on accommodation: This house is modern, comfortable and in excellent order. It is light and airy with views that will take your breath away. Sea views from the back of the house are far reaching and with nothing to spoil the view just as far as the eye can see. The village is a ten minute walk away and can provide all you really need in terms of shops, pubs and cafes, without having to get in the car and drive. There is much to explore and the coastal road is a joy to drive along. If you don't want to drive then there are regular buses, the train station is nearby as well as the Fishguard ferry port. Outside: To the front of the property is a walled garden. The level rear garden is totally enclosed and mainly laid to lawn, with a raised patio area with seating . There is rear access to parking . The decked area has a table and chairs. All entrances are gated to provide extra security for children. Utility Room: Washing machine, ironing board and iron. Collapsible airer. storage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen /Towels, tea towels, bed linen and full bedding are provided. Please provide your own beach towels. Apart from food and drinks all you really need is a tooth brush. Other: There is a bike and surf board storage space under the decking area.

The house with the million dollar views

With the aid of James' detailed instructions, the house was easy to find. There is ample parking off the lane at the rear of the property. The local residents are friendly. The house is very clean and comfortable (the central heating works well). Having a third bedroom for luggage overflow was handy for a travelling party of two couples. The upstairs bathroom shows how much can be fitted into a small space without losing full functionality, and the shower was always hot. The downstairs bathroom is spacious. It includes the luxury of a bath but lacks the utility of a shower. The kitchen is well equipped. The views across the harbour from two of the bedrooms upstairs, the kitchen and decking are absolutely sensational. There is plenty of sightseeing in the vicinity (northeast to Cardigan, southwest to St Davids). There's a very pleasant walk into Fishguard (market there on Thursday for quality meat, fish, fruit and vegetables) via Goodwick along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which goes past the house. Overall, we enjoyed our (all-too-brief) time at Harbour View, reckon it's pretty good value for money and have no qualms in recommending it to others.

Fabulous :)

The house was lovely, clean & fresh. The view was stunning! James was fantastic at answering our questions and had brilliant local knowledge - thank you! The neighbours were friendly which was an added bonus. Myself, partner, 3 children and our pooch had a wonderful week here. Lovely and quiet but near all local amenities. Perfect location to visit the surrounding areas of West Wales. We cannot wait to return :)

Lovely comfortable house. Peaceful area but great base for exploring West Wales

House was spotless and easy to keep that way. Shower worked very well three of us had a hot one each morning. The views over the bay are magnificent, plenty of seals, birds and boats to spot. Good base for exploring West Wales. Beds comfortable and area very quiet of an evening except when the 2 badgers come visiting the bins, make sure the rocks are in place before bed. A torch might be something you should take with you as very dark of an evening when walking up the path.

Fantastic house with an even better view!

We had a lovely stay in Goodwick. The house was spacious and clean and tidy. The view out over the sea was fantastic. James was a great host and the kids loved the welsh cakes he provided.

Goodwick proved to be a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

I would recommend the property to anyone.

Lovely house in a prime spot for exploring

Well equipped house on the coastal path, everything we could have needed for our stay.

Kids and dog loved the garden and local walks and the fire made the perfect end to the day.

Would definitely stay again as there is so much to explore and we felt right at home!

A comfortable home with amazing views.

Our first impression as we walked in, the house was spotless. It even smelled clean and fresh throughout our stay.

The heating works well and there was plenty of hot water. The upstairs shower doesn't have much pressure but the bath downstairs more than made up for it.

Harbour View couldn't be situated in a better spot. The views are breathtaking and constantly changing with the weather and time of day. Being right on the coastal path is a bonus.

We enjoyed visiting places up and down the coast (St. David and Portmeirion). For golfers the links course at Newport is worth playing.

Goodwick beach, with it's childrens play area is 10 minutes walking distance. Abermawr/Aberbach 5 miles.

Pwll Gwaelod, Cwm yr Eglwys which are sheltered by Dinas Head is 3 miles.

Newport sands with it's sand dunes and golf course is 6 miles away.

Whitesands beach is 20 mins by car and a favourite.

There are others hidden away along the coast waiting to de discovered.


Car not essential. Local buses, and shuttle buses operate to the nearby towns and beaches. Stenna Ferry Port to Ireland in Goodwick 5 minutes by car. Goodwick train station 5 minutes by car. Cardiff airport 2 1/2 hours by car.


Goodwick village is 10 minutes walk from the property. Fishguard is 20 minutes to walk or 5 minutes in the car. Pembrokeshire Coast Path is right outside the door. The sight of the 'Last Invasion of Britain' is 40 minutes walk around the coast path. There are plenty of local attractions close to the property.The tourist bus is very helpful and tourist information close by. The tourist information at Newport being worth a visit on its own.

St Davids about 25 mins. You can walk to all these places along a well posted footpath/

There are shopping facilities in Goodwick and Fishguard. Within the library is the famous 100 foot tapestry of the last invasion of Britain by the French. Local produce markets in Fishguard Saturdays and Thursdays. Bank, pubs and restaurants. Leisure centre, Swimming Pool, , Cinema, Riding Stables, Kayak and Bike Hire in Goodwick. Walking on Coast Path and Marine Walk. Castell Henllys Iron age village. Local stone age burial chambers, Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm, Heatherton adventure, Paint Balling and Go-Carts. Fly a falcon, Island rib trip and dolphin watching.

This lovely part of Wales is not overcrowded and still under used by tourists, there is lots to see and do but some planning is advised as often good things get left undiscovered. St Davids is a pleasant drive of about thirty minutes, the cathedral and its setting unique.

Lots of watersports are available locally, including canoeing and kayaking, Power Kiting, Kiteboarding, Kitesurfing, Surfing, Coasteering and paddle-boarding,


The beach and coastal path are a seven minute walk away.There are many other beaches all within a reasonable and pleasant drive.
