About Simon & Jeanette

Hello, we are Simon & Jeanette & we have two teenage boys. We first fell in love with this part of Cornwall when our boys were babies, 19 years ago! This is a magical place, which we retreat to ourselves frequently. We lead busy lives in the South East of England & have provided a Charming & characterful holiday retreat that’s home from home, in a beautiful location. We look forward to sharing it with you!

Simon & Jeanette purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Simon & Jeanette chose South West Cornwall

Newlyn is a historic working Fishing harbour- offering a traditional Cornish experience. Time has stood still in this quaint & pretty Village. There is a long history here with the arts due to its breathtaking scenery, quality of light & beaches. It’s also a foodie paradise with fresh produce of fish, cheese, cider, and ice-cream and more found at the local shops, restaurants, pubs & farmers markets. All local establishments are walking distance & very child & dog friendly. You also benefit from the amenities of the larger town of Penzance-1 mile away.Trains from Paddington London arrive frequently throughout the day. If coming by car there is on-street parking, conveniently outside the cottage. These are a few reasons why we choose to have our holiday home here in magical Newlyn.

What makes this cottage unique

You are 5 mins walk from the harbour & many local beaches/activities around Mounts Bay. Newlyn art school school is a short easy stroll away, making Seabreeze cottage an ideal base whilst attending an art course. We have a wealth of knowledge of the area that we are only too happy to impart to you along with an information folder at the cottage. We are confident that you too will fall for the charms of Seabreeze cottage & start your treasured memories of West Cornwall.

Wonderful cottage in a lovely neighbourhood

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. We were with 2 adults and 3 children and had enough room for all our things. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and there were a lot of books and games (and a Wii) to play with on a rainy day. The neighbours were very nice and helpfull. Simon and Jeanette are great and the communication was fast and clear. We would really recommend this house to our friends. If you want to spend your holiday in a well equipped house full of character: this is the place to go.

Superb cosy family home in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Seabreeze Cottage for a week in July 2016, 2 adults and 3 children. All the communication with Jeanette was effortless and straightforward. The house is a perfect location for a week in fantastic part of Cornwall, Newlyn has everything you need and is an ideal mix of convenience and quaintness. On one side you have Penzance and the other Mousehole - spoilt for choice. The house itself is clean, comfortable and very well stocked with everything you could need. It has that homely feeling when you walk through the door after a day surfing at Sennen or walking in Zennor. Neighbours are friendly and helpful, beds are olympic quality and there's a cupboard with everything you need for the beach (don't forget the wind-breaker!)

Highly recommended to everyone!

Home From Home

  • 4 of 5

An attractive, compact cottage with all the amenities that you might have at home. We stayed for a week and had a very enjoyable time. As we were studying at the Newlyn Art School, the location was very good from that point of view. A walk to Newlyn closeby had eateries and other amenities including a cinema. The walk back to the cottage was very steep however, so may not suit everyone. I would prefer a walk-in shower, hence my 4 stars.

All in all a good stay in comfortable surroundings and friendly neighbours.

A real home from home...

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 9 nights at Seabreeze Cottage. There's me, my husband and 2 children (10 and 13). My daughter was in a production at the Minack Theatre so we had to make daily trips there which was SO easy from Seabreeze.. this takes about 20 minutes.

The location of the cottage is PERFECT. It's pretty central for day trips to anywhere with stunning views over Newlyn and Penzance from the cottage.

The cottage itself was like a home from home, it was Easter when we stayed and went from being baking hot one day, to freezing and rainy the next so the real fire came in very handy and was highly appreciated! Although, the central heating would have sufficed had this not been an option.

The beds were SO comfy, everything clean and welcoming and a massive folder with everything you can think of in it.

Simon & Jeanette themselves welcomed us by text and were on hand for any questions or problems we might have had.. not that we had any! We WILL be using Seabreeze Cottage again. It really did feel like a second home...... If you do stay there, can you please look for the little piece of my heart that I think I left there....

Seabreeze cottage is a lovely welcoming cottage that is well equipped and maintained. The location is great for a family break with Penzance and Mouseholoe a short walk away with plenty of places to eat and drink around. The cottage was cosy and very clean with lots of useful information provided by Jeanette and Simon we had everything we needed during our stay. I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit this part of Cornwall.

A great base for exploring the Cornish coast

  • 4 of 5

We had a very good week in Seabreeze. Of particular note are the comfortable beds, very well-equipped kitchen, and that the cottage was quick to warm up as the evenings got cooler later in the week.

The cottage was clean and well-maintained.

A nice, friendly road on the hilltop over Newlyn Harbour, and two minutes walk from the Art School.

Only minor point was that we would have appreciated a reduction on the high-season rate as we later realised we fell between two rating periods, however we agreed the rate when booking was confirmed so should have queried it then.

Owner's Response: Thank-you for your positive comments, we very are very pleased Seabreeze cottage gave you a great base & a comfortable stay, adding to a lovely holiday. To reassure you, you hadn't straddle a rate change date- I think confuse occurred as we accommodated your requested Sunday arrival rather than our usual Saturday. With it being a bank holiday, Newlyn fish festival was on & it still being summer holidays, you had been quoted our advertised price. We look forward to welcoming you back. Many thanks
