Very comfortable cottage in an area of outstanding vistas in all directions.

We enjoyed our stay in Dairy Cottage, our hostess was very hospitable and accommodating with any extra request. The area is outstanding, loved our hostess’s horses grazing in the meadows below and having a good roll around on the grass. Had some great walks at Rudyard Lake, around the Endon area and around Biddulph Grange gardens. So much to do and see....... have to come back soon.

Decided to not stay at the property after reading reviews that where unfortunately submitted after booking.

Turns out this is an "upside down" house, with living room etc upstairs. Totally unsuitable for our two dogs.

This information doesn't appear on any descriptions and had I known, I wouldn't have booked this property!

A good location in beautiful countryside..

  • 4 of 5

The decor reflected the property surroundings and the cottage was suitably equipped for our needs. The cottage boasted stunning views and a warm and cosy atmosphere. As suggested by the property owner in their guide book. We enjoyed a walk by the canal in Denham. The Hollybush very welcoming and friendly, serving traditional pub grub. Great walks out from the Ramblers Retreat, near Alton, lovely afternoon tea. Evening meal at the Travellers Rest in Stanley. Fish Pie was nice and a good selection of meals on the menu. We would certainly visit again.

Comfortable and welcoming property

  • 5 of 5

Well furnished with everything needed for a great stay and very warm even when waking up to a snowy morning - upside down layout of the cottage with the lounge upstairs makes the most of the beautiful views across the countryside - highly recommended
