About the Owner

Neil and I bought La Bergerie having fallen in love with Seillans and the beauty of the surrounding area, we have a large family all of whom love holidaying in this beautiful part of the world.

It has always been a dream of ours to spend more time in the South of France and this is the place that has become our heaven on earth to share with family and friends for hopefully many years to come.

Our house is extremely comfortable and we use it year round as the location lends itself to summer and winter pursuits including skiing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"All was absolutely immaculate. We would not hesitate in recommending La Bergerie and have already booked a return trip. Enjoy!" The Hall Family

"La Bergerie has been beautifully renovated by its owners and is extremely comfortable, in fact the beds are so comfortable, we had the best nights sleep. The sun terrace is ideal to soak up the views and stunning landscape and it is the perfect place from which to explore Cannes, St Tropez, Nice and the nearby villages of Bargemon and Fayence. We will be returning soon". The Arscotts

A fabulous get away from it all villa!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the villa late at night, in the middle of a thunderstorm, and were delighted to come through the door of such a warm and welcoming home.

Luckily the storm passed, and when we woke the next morning we opened the shutters to the most amazing views! They totally take your breath away.

We only had a short visit but will definitely be back. It is a stunning villa in a beautiful location and we can't wait for our next trip.

The perfect place to recharge your batteries!

I Thought I had Died and Gone To Heaven

  • 5 of 5

A small group of us had decided to take a long weekend in the South of France to relax and enjoy each others company. Heaven itself could have provided a better solution. Le Bergerie just outside Seillans is an idyllic retreat, beautiful views, peaceful and everything it promised to be in the description. Clean, tasteful and a real home. It was easy to find the given the instructions and everything was ready when we arrived. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to good friends and relatives but only if they promise to take me with them, this is a place you would visit again and again. We walked down to the beautiful village a few times to visit the amazing Chez Hugo's which was recommended by the owners. Fantastic food, ambience and staff. I could go on and on but my advice would be try it for you self!!

Beautiful French villa in the South of France

  • 5 of 5

We have visited La Bergerie a couple of times before and every time we come we are amazed by the beauty of the area and the stunning vistas from the terraces of the Villa.

La Bergerie is so comfortable and has everything you could possibly need for a stay any time of year. The owners are constantly making improvements, this year there is a lovely decking area with fabulous sofas where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine.

We enjoyed day trips into Cannes, Nice and St. Tropez. We are already trying to find a time when we can come back and enjoy this fabulous home away from home.

Perfect Provence Villa!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this villa (family of 7 - all ages), it's perfectly formed, tastefully furnished, and has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Location is idyllic, with great views and a short trip down the hills into the pretty village of Seillans, with lot's of larger towns/chateau's & activities only a short drive away. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again. :-))

Stunning Provencal villa

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived we were blown away by the beautiful view from the terrace of the villa all the way down to the sea. The pool and gardens are lovely, we particularly liked all the different sitting areas and terraces around the property, particularly the deck area with comfortable sofas, lots of places to enjoy a glass of rosé in the evening. The villa is very well equipped and the beds are supremely comfortable. The location is a great base to discover the area, we had a day trip to Antibes and St. Tropez. The neighboring village of Fayence has a great market and Seillans has a couple of wonderful restaurants. The Villa manager could not have been more welcoming and helpful. I could happily recommend this Villa to my friends and will definitely be booking a return trip.

Fantastic Property

  • 5 of 5

La Bergerie is an amazing house with excellent facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the pool, dining on the terrace, playing boules and enjoying the stunning views out over the countryside. The house is close to the lovely little village of Seillans which has some brilliant restaurants and little shops. The great location of the house meant that we could easily go and explore many different places during our stay including Gorges du Verdon (1hr drive), Cannes, (1hr drive) and Lac de Saint-Cassien (30mins drive). Debbie (the owner) was fantastic and the booking/payment/check-in/check-out processes were very straightforward. Highly recommended!

From the Owner

When we first visited La Bergerie we fell in love with the views, the house and the magnificent grounds. Seillans itself is one of the most beautiful villages in France, steeped in history and with its lively markets, vineyards, olive groves, galleries, fabulous restaurants and the cooking school it is a perfect palce to spend time. The summers are hot, the spring and autumn pleasantly warm and winters mild - a welcome change from home! It was important to us that the house was easy to reach if we want to escape just for a weekend. It was also important that there is a 'depth' to the area - plenty of artistic, cultural, historical and sporting diversions especially skiing to keep us occupied.

The French Riviera with it’s beaches, restaurants, night life and all the various attractions of the coastline is a short drive away. The long sandy beaches of Fréjus and St Raphael are child-friendly and offer watersports with coaching facilities. Those seeking to 'chill' away from the crowds will be more at home at one of the many beach clubs where the music is 'cool' and the seafood impressive! We can recommend the Marco Polo Club in Théoule-sur-Mer about 30 minutes away.

The Four Seasons hillside, two-level, 3,200-square-metre facility boasts 12 treatment rooms complete with showers and heated blankets in addition to two VIP couples' suites. Each has a double whirlpool bath, steam shower and large outdoor terrace with cabana. It opens between 7am and 9pm every day and also offers a variety of massage, body and facial treatments a salon and health/well-being assessments.

The area is full of spectacular walks, often along ancient trails that can be found on Napoleonic (and older) maps. It is also prime cycling country, with many cycling clubs situated nearby and the Tour de France passing through the area every year. The French take their cycling seriously, and local drivers are very respectful of cyclists on the roads. The beautiful Gorge du Verdon (hiking, camping, white water rafting) and Lac St Cassien (picnicing, swimming, canoeing, sail boarding) are close by.

Have you ever thought of flying silently above some of the most beautiful countryside in the world? The famous Aerodrome de Fayence is only ten minutes away, and offers initiation gliding flights, discovery courses and much more.

Dining out is a real treat in Seillans and the surrounding area. Michelin-star restaurants in the area include: Le Castellaras (between Seiilans and Fayence - , Auberge des Fontaines d’Aragon in Montauroux, Hostellerie les Gorges de Pennafort in Callas and Restaurant Faventia in Tourrettes.

In Seillans itself, a personal favourite is Chez Hugo, fine dining may be enjoyed at 'Les deux Rocs', a very old and beautiful restaurant/hotel with an outdoor terrace, while more while more informal dining (outside in summer) is a must in the main square.

From the Owner

When we stay at La Bergerie we feel extremely comfortable and fortunate to have such a beautiful property with an aspect, climate and provencal aroma that we couldn't have in London. The house is very private and peaceful as it is not overlooked, however we can walk into the village for dinner or to a local music festival if we want too. It is easily accessible to the coast and with Nice being served by multiple airlines it gives us easy access to a region with many attractions and places of interest. The time we spend by the pool and the lunches on our terrace with a glass of rose are heaven. We hope that we are able to spend more time there!
