Five bedrooms; three upstairs and two downstairs in a separate wing, ideal for two groups coming together or a family wanting plenty of space. The downstairs bedrooms and bathroom are perfect for those who would prefer not to use stairs. Completely renovated for 2014, we have focused on creating spaces which all the guests can enjoy together, and capturing a relaxed coastal feel. Set in the heart of the village of Manorbier, the property has a large private garden, contained within the grounds of the Old Vicarage. Manorbier, described by the Guardian as "The Perfect Seaside Village", has everything you need: well stocked shop, post office, pub (serving home made food), tea rooms, Norman castle and church, 4 beaches (some of which secret) within walking distance, fantastic surf, rock pools, and of course a large stretch of sand for those just wishing to sunbathe. Tenby, with its famed Georgian architecture, beautiful beaches and Wales' oldest golf course, is just 7 minutes drive east. A short drive to the west you will find Bosherston lily ponds, Broadhaven and Barafundle...and much more.

We aim to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. Would you like a catered meal delivered one evening? How about your Christmas turkey and all the trimmings ready in your fridge when you arrive? Or a box of local organic vegetables? We have a lovely barbecue which is ideal for those summer evenings, our butcher can put together a selection catered to your needs. Just email in advance.

We have lived in the next door Old Vicarage for 8 years, and are so glad we returned to Pembrokeshire after a decade in London. We ran a holiday let in a self contained annexe of the Old Vicarage (Apple Tree Cottage) until we recently knocked through and made the most of the south west facing garden. We had many happy guests and wanted to continue letting our new property as a holiday cottage.

We have now had a full year letting Mews Cottage, and we are delighted with how popular it has been, and how such a high proportion of our guests rebook, many before they leave! We hope that people return year after year and feel it's a home away from home.

Why Kate Blackwell chose Pembroke, Tenby, Saundersfoot & The South Coast

We have lived next door in The Old Vicarage for 8 years and we were delighted to be able to buy the neighbouring cottage in November 2013. It is wonderful to reunite the two buildings as Mews Cottage used to be the stables for what was the Vicarage, when they were built 200 years ago. The stone for The Vicarage was quarried in Lydstep, dressed by Caldey monks and then brought to Manorbier. The stables were converted into a cottage in the 1970's. Mews Cottage has a private garden which is surrounded by the Old Vicarage garden and fields owned by the church, but farmed by the local daffodil farm Springfields. The view in spring from the kitchen sink is a mass of daffodils.

What makes this cottage unique

Nearly all of our guests include 3 generations. Mews Cottage is the perfect space to be enjoyed by all ages. The sunny south facing garden and the summer house are ideal for parents to sit in and relax while the children can play. The barbecue is proving very popular, and there's a sense of peace whilst still being so close to all the amenities in the village and of course the beach.

Many guests comment on the refectory table and seating in the dining room. From Christmas dinner, to family meals and poker games, the dining room accommodates 12 comfortably. The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious.

Most of all, the guests say that after a day on the beach or a coastal path walk, they feel at home in Mews Cottage and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.

Notes on accommodation: Mews cottage is a wonderful holiday home, perfect for groups as there are two separate sleeping areas - 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs on a side wing. There is a large sunny garden, ample parking for 3 cars, and although situated in the village, it is set back from the road and overlooks fields. The big enclosed garden is ideal for children, and the outside dining and BBQ area is sunny from late morning until the sun sets. For sunny morning coffees, there's a summer house which faces the cottage. The cottage has been completely renovated - rewired, re plumbed, all new kitchens and bathrooms, new flooring, decoration ... it's ready and oozing coastal charm. We can help organise catered meals to be delivered, or a selection of BBQ meats from our local butcher, even organic veg boxes too. If you wish to bring your pet, please let us know in advance. Outside: A large private garden with fruit trees, perennial borders and a south westerly aspect make Mews Cottage the perfect spot to relax after a day on the beach. There is an area for outdoor dining and also a barbecue - it's the perfect spot for relaxing in the afternoon and evening. The summer house catches the morning sun, but doubles up as a play house where children can enjoy having tea parties. There is a garden hose for washing out your wetsuits and cleaning your surfboards at the end of the day. The washing line is there for your to hang your towels out to dry and for any washing. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble drier. Back door with access onto herb garden and area for hosing down sandy dogs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen and bath towels are provided, and linen is changed on changeover day. Beach towels are not provided. Basics cooking ingredients, plus tea, coffee etc. provided. Welcome basket of fruit and fresh flowers to greet you. Other: Hallway with plenty of hanging space for coats and shoe racks for wellies and flip flops. The dining room has a stereo with an ipod dock.

The perfect place for a family gathering in Manorbier.

6 adults, 1 toddler and a French Bulldog enjoyed a fabulous long weekend break at Mews Cottage - the location, accommodation, facilities, equipment and general ambience could not have been better, nor could the attentive welcome from the owner, Kate, who made us feel the cottage was our home-from home the moment we arrived.

The local area is full of varied things to see and do too, so we were never stuck for amusement.

Stunning Cottage

Just arrived home from a stay in Mews Cottage Manorbier.....took my children..grown up..and my in laws..grown up as well..and we all had a very relaxing time....in an absolutely stunning cottage...everything there you would ever need...plenty of room for all of us to do our own thing...and get together...bbq's...log fires...large gardens..no one wanted to go home..even my "kids"...thats a first...and Manorbier is nice too..a pub..a shop...a restaurant...a castle...a beautiful beach with coastal walks...we will be back..thanks Kate ( the owner) for a warm welcome..we loved it.

Gorgeous house in great location

We booked this property as 2 families.. The house was every bit as lovely as described and more. It was extremely clean and beautifully presented with everything you could need for a great holiday. The attention to detail was great and there were basic groceries, games and lots of extras that you could borrow. It was just like a home from home and had lots of space to spread out and not feel on top of each other. The location is beautiful and very quiet. Manorbier is a lovely little village with its own castle and beach and several amazing beaches all within walking distance. The house is a gentle 5 -10 minute stroll to the beach which the kids loved. It is right on the Pembroke coastal path and the walks and views here are spectacular.

We would like to say a big thank you to Kate the owner of Mews Cottage.. everything was in place for us and all our emails etc were replied to swiftly. She gave us lots of info and was quick to sort out a minor issue that arose.

All in all this is a fantastic house and was even better than the pictures show. You certainly will not be disappointed if you book this propert.. we can't wait to return.

Half term heaven!

We had the best time in Manorbier with great weather, considering it was October!, great accommodation and a super village to stay in. The cottage was amazing, spacious and clean with plenty of amenities for our party of 10!. Kate, the owner, was really welcoming and had left provisions in the cottage for our late arrival - nothing was too much trouble. We had 2 twin rooms and 1 master bedroom upstairs with a shared bathroom with shower and 1 twin room and 1 double room downstairs with its own toilet and shower room so everyone was sorted and no bathroom queues :-). The cottage had everything we wanted and the garden was large enough for the boys to play football. We didnt need to use the cars too much as there are beaches within walking distance. The village is extremely friendly down to the local store (which was superbly stocked) and the local pub welcomed us and the children, who enjoyed playing pool whilst waiting for food. The tea room is large and the food was all home made and really nice. I cannot recommend the cottage, village and people enough. Definitely going again! Thank you Kate and family we had a ball.

Fantastic family holiday

Super accommodation with a great garden. The layout and space worked well for a family of 3 generations. Great welcome pack and approachable owner. An easy walk to the beach, local shop and cafe and Manorbier Castle with a 15 minute drive to the bigger town of Tenby and fabulous family attractions of Folly Farm and Manor Park. Would highly recommend a stay.

Lovely House

We stayed here for a family celebration and found ourselves well catered for at Mews Cottage - there were 4 children of various ages, plus parents and grandparents who all thought the house was lovely, the perfect set up for our needs. The house is in a peaceful spot in Manorbier, but still within very easy strolling distance to the village shop, pub etc. It's also within easy reach of other local attractions. A really enjoyable family trip!

Location

Coast/Beach:

Manorbier was described by the Guardian as 'The perfect seaside village'. Within 10 minutes walk from Mews Cottage you can be on Manorbier beach, with its waves, rock pools and large stretch of sand. Also within walking distance are Church Doors, Skrinkle, Presipe and Swan Lake, all accessible from the Coastal Path.

Less than 10 minutes drive east is Tenby and it's popular beaches. To the west (25 mins drive), are Barafundle and Broadhaven South. Also Freshwater West, the famous surf beach

Travel:

Manorbier has a station, but it is not advisable to walk from there. Ideally you could catch a train to Tenby and take a taxi (about 10 minutes)

Distances:

We are in the village of Manorbier, and less than 10 minutes from Tenby by car.

Carew and Pembroke and their castles are 15 minutes away.

Further Details:

The local shop with Post Office is just down the road, where you can find most things - fully licensed, with fresh local produce and everything you would need for a seaside holiday.

Beach Break is a lovely cafe, with a sunny quiet terrace. There is also a shop if you're looking for everything from a wetsuit and bodyboard to a seaside gift.

The Castle Inn pub serves good homemade food and is child friendly and has a sunny beer garden.

The Castle Mead hotel has a popular restaurant.

Manorbier Castle has a lovely little cafe, and is an oasis of calm.

Nearby we have Manor House Wildlife Park (less than 10 minutes in the car), plus Heatherton and Folly Farm, plenty of fun filled days for children who want a break from the beach.

Tenby offers many beach cafes, restaurants, shops, and of course the harbour with its trips to Caldey Island and seal safaris. There are water sports available on the North Beach for the more active.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is a short walk from Mews Cottage, and there are some lovely deserted beaches within walking distance.

Prices are per week, for 5 bedrooms.
In non peak weeks, the cottage can be rented out as a three bedroom holiday let (the downstairs wing will be closed). There will therefore be three bedrooms upstairs (with bathroom), a large sitting room, dining room, kitchen, and downstairs loo. There is of course a private garden and ample parking.
