About the property

Farmhouse in Castelnau Magnoac, Hautes Pyrenees, Midi-Pyrenees, France - Delightful Setting Surrounded By Fields Of Sunflowers And Maize Spectacular Views Of The Pyrenees

Le Pascalet is a traditional Gascogne farmhouse, which we, as a family, have restored over the last 15 years. We are now ready to open our doors to share its magic with others. The house sits in it's own land, with views of the majestic Pyrenees. It is surrounded by acres of sunflowers and maize. There is a lovely private pool set in the mature garden. We have been in the holiday industry for 20 years, renting our house in the UK during the holidays, and still it gives us great pleasure to do all that we can to make your holiday experience one that you would definitely want to repeat. Nearby is the quaint towns of Castelnau Magnoac and Trie sur Baise, both of which have a weekly market, bars and cafes and places to eat. We are very happy to recommend places to go and especially to tell you of some hidden gems! The glorious and majestic Pyrenees are within easy reach, with breathtaking scenery, wonderful walks, beautiful lakes and waterfalls. It is necessary to have a car.

About Annabel Levey

We are a family of four who have been living between the West country and France for 15 years, hence the French feel to the house! We have been renting our homes for 20 years and are therefore very experienced in providing what our clients wish for, ensuring they have a lovely relaxing holiday. We have renovated our properties over the years and this year our French home will also be available to rent. Our aim is to ensure that we offer a truly personal service, and have in fact made many friends over the years with guests who have come to stay in one of our properties. Nothing gives us more pleasure than to share our home and know that our guests have enjoyed it as much as we do.

Why Annabel Levey chose Maubourguet - Trie sur Baise area

We fell in love with this part of France in 1988 when we visited the area for the first time. It was like stepping back in time. The peace and tranquillity and the easy way of life was a pleasure to enjoy. The local people are so friendly and polite and everyone has time for everyone. You can still park outside the butcher or baker and traffic is not an issue. There is an abundance of wildlife and the scenery is spectacular.

What makes this farmhouse unique

When we bought Le Pascaletit was a ruin. The main staircase was hanging at a jaunty angle by a thread and the only wc was in the garden. But the moment we opened the old oak doors, we fell in love with it. The house has a lovely feel to it and embraces everyone who visits. It is light and airy and sits very happily in the large garden which is surrounded by ancient oaks and filled with birdsong. For those who live busy lives, it is the perfect place to restore body and soul!

Gorgeous home, perfect break

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six, aged from 4 to 79, had a wonderful fortnight in Le Pascalet. The house is picture perfect, shuttered and stately, nestled at the end of a plum-tree lined driveway. Inside, the accommodation is spacious, comfortable, clean and stylish. The beds are super comfy, and the large country kitchen/diner is well equipped with wisteria creeping through the pretty windows - making washing up far less of a chore!

French windows lead out from the kitchen to a lovely vine-covered terrace with table and chairs, providing easy outdoor dining, as well as shade during the hot summer days. The centrepiece of the huge lawned garden, perfect for letting the children run wild, is a fabulous swimming pool with paved surround and plenty of sun loungers.

It was our first visit to the Haute Pyrenees and we were all charmed by its beauty and tranquility. Traffic is minimal, so distances are easily travelled, and when we could bear to drag ourselves away from the pool, we paid a few visits to the breathtakingly beautiful mountains - including the Tour de France route to Tourmalet and the spa town / ski centre of Bagneres de Luchon - as well as lovely Auch, vibrant Toulouse, pretty Saint-Gaudens and other local villages with their abundant markets.

Owner Annabel could not have been more helpful, and proved a wonderfully kind and hospitable host. We'd love to return one day, and can't recommend Le Pascalet enough for a relaxing get away.

Beautiful French farmhouse with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

Le Pascalet is a large traditional French farmhouse in a peaceful location. It has been beautifully restored and tastefully furnished and is full of character and charm. It has stunning views of the Pyrenees. The bedrooms are large with comfortable beds and plenty of space for our large family group of 8 adults and a baby. The house is well served with bathrooms and toilets and with a constant supply of hot water. The large farmhouse kitchen is very well equipped. There is a choice of areas for dining including a beautiful vine covered terrace and a more sheltered area under the barn, both well furnished and lit. Fresh bread / croissants are available in the next village of Campuzan or in Casternau Magnoac (about 4 miles away). There is also a good supermarket at Castelnau Magnoac.

The lounge is cool and comfortable with TV. Lovely large private garden and swimming pool with sun loungers and table and chairs.

We visited the Pyrenees, just over an hour away, stopping to visit the charming Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges and then taking the gondola up the mountain at Bagneres de Luchon for breathtaking views over the surrounding snow topped mountains and the countryside below (€9.50 return)

We had a fabulous week at Le Pascalet. Thank you so much Annabel.
