Ideally situated, relaxed and comfortable accommodation in a superb location - and is just a short walk from centre of the resort with its numerous restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets. The complex has a large swimming pool and a shallow splash pool for children. The beautiful soft sandy beach is also a short walk away and is ideal for children as the sea is very calm and stays shallow for ages!

We purchased the apartment because the Island is beautiful, safe, and the people who live in Cala'n Porter are extremely friendly so you immediately feel comfortable and welcome everywhere you go. We particularly love Cala'n Porter because it is a relatively small village but packed with all you need for a fantastic holiday. The beach, shops, restaurants, and bars are all within a short walk away from each other and the village is busy but low key and relaxed so you can walk around the village without any kind of hassle. We love it here and that is why we have purchased No 31 so we can keep coming as much as we can!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Mahon at 10 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : Mahon at 15 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Calan Porter at 0.5 Kilometres


The beach is a 10 minute walk away, you can either go via the beach road or the steps down the cliffs!

The steps are a great walk and the view is fantastic, but are not suitable for people with mobility problems. We walk up and down the steps easily with our young children and they love it but its not for everyone so you may prefer to use a taxi or your own car. There is plenty of parking down at the beach if you decide to hire a car.


By car the capital Mahon is 15 mins drive, as is Alaior and Punta Prima, Canutells and Binibecca about 10 mins, Ciutadella (the old capital), Son Parc and Fornells each about 30 mins away.

The taxis are a good price and there is also a pretty good bus service to other resorts and Mahon.

Driving around Menorca is great! I have been driving there many years and can't remember being stuck in traffic once!


The apartment is about a 10 minute drive from the airport and a taxi ride is a very reasonable price, or you can pick up a hire car from the airport. There is a bus service also but we always either collect our hire car or just jump in a taxi.

We have previously stayed in other apartments in the complex and they are all lovely characterful properties just like ours, but we purchased ours as it has a slightly different layout to most of the other apartments, which means the lounge, second bedroom, bathroom, and the kitchen area are all slightly bigger than the others so the place just has a feeling of being more spacious and there is more room to prepare and store food in the kitchen too. The apartment is also in a fantastic location within the village. The beach is a 10 minute walk ( down some steps ), the shops, bars, and restaurants are just a 5 minute walk.

  • Outside: Siesta Mar 1 is a privately owned complex run by a community of owners - the beautiful grounds are maintained to a very high standard. There are extensive lawns, trees, palm trees and other shrubs and plants. The complex tends to be relatively low key even in the high season and this is what we love about the complex. The swimming pool is a very good size and is great for swimming lengths, please check out the photographs and also Google maps so you can see for yourself. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath and hand towels, tea towels, and bedding linen are included ( but not beach towels) - changed weekly. Other: Veranda with sea view to the left and overlooking the swimming pool and small play park. The arch at the top of the stairwell frames a fantastic view of Monte Toro!. The veranda is equipped with a table and chairs, 2 sunbeds, and a parasol.
