Cottage in Looe, Cornwall, England - Central Location

The Sail-Loft is situated in Looe on the coast of South Cornwall. As one of the town's premier self-catering cottages, sleeping up to six, it has a quayside location and is only minutes from the main beach. The cottage is ideal for a family holiday, to enjoy all that Looe has to offer or as a base to explore the wider attractions of Cornwall such as the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Cotehele House to name but a few. An original quay side building, the Sail Loft dates back to the late 18th Century when it was used as a public house known as The Pier Inn. Over the past 200 plus years the building has had many varied uses including a fish store, pilchard press, pottery works, marine engineers and antique shop. It is now a bright, relaxing harbour side holiday home right in the centre of the historic fishing port of Looe .It can comfortably sleep 6 people and aspires to fantastic views over the busy Looe harbour and West Looe beyond. Notes on accommodation: Gas central heating is available out of season or when the weather turns chilly. Outside: An adjacent garage, separate to the cottage, is available to store refuse before the weekly collection and is suitable to store any beach toys, inflatable boats, crabbing nets, cycles etc. Due to the narrow street access and low ceiling the garage is not suitable for car parking. Utility Room: The utility room contains the combination hot water and heating boiler, coat racks, washing/drying machine, internal washing line and drying space with ironing board and iron Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, bath towels and hand towels are provided and changed on a weekly basis.

Accommodation lovely, layout perfect, warm with fantastic views. No faults here. Problem is location by angling social club and pub back door. very noisy till midnight so not much sleep gained, rough element spoils a great place. People shouting outside showing no respect to those around them. Shame as spoils a lovely property. Not ideal when you need sleep with young children.

Just lovely.

A perfect property for a family holiday. Spacious, great facilities, very clean and tidy.

Lovely views and a stones throw away from the beach and village centre.

Highly recommend

Would definitely stay again.

Coast/Beach:

The main beach in East Looe is a large sandy beach a 5 minute walk from the Sail Loft. On the West side are the Hannafore beaches, a 20 minute walk over the bridge and out along the West Looe side of the river or take the ferry across the river to West Looe to cut out the walk around the bridge. These beaches are more of a rock pool experience with smaller areas of sand. The South West Coastal path can be accessed to the East, onwards to Whitsand bay or to the West, onwards to Polperro.
