About Massimo

Massimo is a true Roman, but he has spent much of his life outside of Italy (Denmark, USA, UK, Malta, Japan etc.). He is a composer and a jazz musician, working together with his partner in creating performances, art installations and anything else that could inspire life.

Massimo now lives with his family in the wonderful region of Devon in the UK, but they often come back to their flat to enjoy life in the heart of the Eternal City.

They love sincerity, beauty and simplicity, and place these values before anything else in life.

Massimo purchased this apartment in 1986

Why Massimo chose Rome

We are not an agency, this flat has been our home until our daughter was born. We still come back to this apartment now and then, and we still consider it our home.

Why we love it? Living in a quiet historical building from the 13th Century in the very heart of one of the most enchanting cities in the world isn't it a good enough reason? :-)

What makes this apartment unique

Via dei Chiavari is a fine and elegant small street, where life pulsate without ever being crowded. People living here are Italians, you are not in an area almost totally sublet to foreign tourists, noisy at any hour of the day or night.

You will be right in the heart of the city, in an extremely safe neighborhood, at walking distance from any important site.

Last, but not least, the apartment is perfectly kept and is one of Rome's finest addresses: it will be the setting for a truly unforgettable stay in the Eternal City.

Gem in Campo di Fiore

  • 5 of 5

Right in the heart of the Campo di Fiore district, the location couldn't be better for those looking for a convenient place to stay while visiting all of Rome's major tourist sites, most within easy walking distance!

Massimo is a great communicator and easy to contact via a phone he lends you for the visit. The apartment is spotless and the kitchen is equipped well. There's wi-fi as well. Though the apartment is on the third floor there is an elevator to make the trip upstairs easy.

Centrally located, the fun and excitement of the Rome is right beneath the apartment and just steps outside the door. There are many eating places and shopping opportunities in the immediate area. I highly recommend Rome is Home for your Rome trip!

Great location and helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this property for any family looking to visit Rome. My family, wife, daughter, son and myself, visited Rome and stayed in this apartment from May 31-June 5. The owners were more than helpful. He set up a van to pick us up at the airport and take us directly to the location. Cost is 50 Euros which is 2 more Euros than a taxi and well worth it. We were early, before check-in, but they let us leave our bags so we could begin sight seeing. My wife had to fly the day after we arrived and I contacted Massimo, the owner, using a phone they have for guest, to arrange a car to pick her up and take her to the Vatican where we had a 10:30 tour scheduled. After dropping her off at 10:25, the driver carried her bag to a bag drop place that is right beside the apartment building. I also would recommend the bag drop place for help. They helped answer questions, spoke good English and called a taxi for us the last day. They are very nice. The location of the apartment is perfect for touring Rome. We walked everywhere. No place was more than 1.1 miles from the apartment. Piazza Navona was about 2 blocks away. Great for sitting having a drink and people watching. The Pantheon is about 2 blocks further and Trevi Fountain is 2 blocks from there. The Vatican, Colosseum and Roman Forum are the furthest but still within walking distance. There is a bakery 2 doors down from the apartment that we visited each morning for breakfast and a café across the street from the bakery fro coffee. The location is a couple of blocks from a major road so the noise isn't bad for a city. There is no AC but even though the days were warm the apartment always has a breeze blowing through. We never had a problem with the apartment being too warm.

The shower is small by American standards but I believe normal for European Cities. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and the sofa makes out into a bed. We didn't cook but the kitchen looked fully stocked with pans and dishes. I would certainly stay at this location if we travel back to Rome.

Lovely and comfortable flat in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying in this flat. It is in the perfect location to explore every direction in the center and be able to return to the comfort of your own apartment quickly. The apartment was comfortable in size and had a very comfy bed the was equivalent to a king size bed. The natural light from the windows and the views were excellent. This is a classic style apartment with all the amenities to call your home. Contact with Massimo and Bianca the owners was great and very helpful. This is a great area to stay in Rome with great food and shops very close. This is one of the cooler areas in Rome to stay a very short distance to the more crowded sightseeing locations. We look forward to another stay in the future. Thanks!

Perfect location to explore Rome

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay to truly feel like a local in Rome. This apartment is in walking distance of so many great sights, and is in the center of an area with such great food and wine bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy all the beauty of Rome. With one of the best bakeries in the city just a few steps away, it was good that the apartment was on the third floor, so we could burn a few extra calories.
