A great cottage suitable for two families

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is in the very upmarket village of Thornham. It is very well equipped and its bedroom layout allowed our parents to have a stair free access to a bedroom downstairs with their own facilities. We out in two different venues in the village and at "home" too. We also enjoyed the wood burner too. The cottage is easily accessible to many local landmarks and tourist attractions. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Idyllic Cottage in Thornham,Norfolf.

  • 5 of 5

We were returning families to Norfolk having stayed in various areas and cottages and found this village and property the best yet - by far. The house was absolutely spotless, homely and very well equipped, with the layout being particularly good for 2 families (4 adults and 4 children). The owner provided us with detailed information about the cottage, village, local attractions and restaurants which was very helpful.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much for the kind review of the village and our cottage. We're really pleased to hear that it worked well for your group. We have young children and often visit with another family so we think that it works well for a trip away with a group of friends. Please come back again. Dave & Gill.

A perfect break away

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of 6 adults and 1 toddler returning to Thornham for a family holiday and choosing Dale Cottage really was the perfect choice. It was spacious, stylish and had an ideal family kitchen to reminisce about previous family caravan holidays we had spent in Thornham some 20 years ago. It was well equipped with everything you need and felt home from home. The garden offered a tranquil place to sip G&Ts after a day at the beach and the on a slightly cooler day, the log burner provided snug place to gather as a family.

We were absolutely delighted with the property and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay.

A fabulous holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

Our 3rd visit to dale cottage and we can honestly say it just gets better and better each visit. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for your holiday and is so comfortable homely and immaculate. There's nothing nicer than retreating back to the cottage after a lovely meal in one of the local pubs to sit in front of the log fire and have a glass of wine. There are plenty of things to do to fill your days too from a day on the beach, wildlife trips, kids adventure days and beautiful seaside towns and villages. A lovely place to chill out and relax.

Lovely accomodation, wanted for nothing

  • 5 of 5

Dale Cottage is ideal for a family holiday. We were six adults, one child and a 3 month old and the bedrooms and living accommodation were great. The garden was very spacious and private with a lovely Summer House. The location is ideal for the area and we could not fault it.

Great family holiday in lovely location.

  • 5 of 5

We have recently returned from the cottage where we stayed for a family get together. From the initial enquiry with the owner he kept in contact with us and gave us detailed information about the area. Although we were 5 adults and 4 children we never felt overcrowded in the cottage. It was well appointed and located in a lovely spot. The children absolutely loved the garden and it was great for us adults to sit in the lounge with a glass of wine playing a game of cards when the exhausted children had gone to bed. The log burner was very popular on cooler nights. We really liked Thornham, some great restaurants (particularly the Orange Tree) and pubs nearby and a perfect spot to visit local attractions. We would all love to return to the cottage.

Location

From the Owner

We love being close to the sea and great beaches with our young children. We get great pleasure from being outdoors and getting away from the normal business of everyday life. We bought Dale Cottage as our own 2nd home so that our children can enjoy all of the benefits of beach and country living. We have refurbished it to a high standard so that it feels welcoming and spacious. We adore the village for its location and great facilities for visitors.

Facilities

From the Owner

We love the secluded nature and the tranquillity it brings whilst being close to great pubs and restaurants. Dale Cottage has a great sense of space both indoors and outdoors and never feels cramped even with 8 people (and sometimes more) staying. There's something really special about sitting in the living room with a roaring fire, watching the wildlife in the garden and knowing that the beaches are all so close.

If staying for longer than 1 week a linen and towel change can be arranged for an additional fee. Other: Entrance Hall. There is a stunning galleried entrance hall with a rattan sofa. It is perfectly suited for newly-arriving visitors and also for unloading after a day at the beach. A large OS map of the area will help you to plan the next days activity.
