Ideal base, exceptional comfort

This was a really great cottage, thoughtfully furnished and all that you could want for a comfortable stay. Bed was great and the cottage is ideally situated for visiting the many beaches and all things around the area. We would highly recommend this cottage to all our friends and family. The lovely couple who own the cottage have worked very hard and were really helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again and as we love Cornwall this is very likely. Many thanks to Helen and Jay.

Great little place

  • 5 of 5

This is a super holiday rental. It is modern, clean, convenient and well-equipped. Helen and Jay are the perfect hosts and live next door to the cottage. This young couple have made a super job of this relatively new let. The kitchen is attractive and works pretty well, the shower is first rate, there is internet connection by wifi, TV etc (if you're interested), the bedrooms and bedding are first rate. There is also a lovely decking area at the front with a barbecue. The location is good, very quiet and rural but close to St Agnes. There is a great pub about 15 minutes walk away. Many thanks to J&H and good luck to them with this venture.

Just what we were looking for.

I can't rate this great property highly enough. It's a couple of miles from Saint Agnes, quiet, spotlessly clean, very stylishly decorated with all mid cons. It has a very new feel to it but is also cosy. The beds are comfy and the central heating is effective. Our party consisted of three adults and a baby and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Though the property abuts the owners' house, it feels very private and aside cars driving over the gravel on the drive area and the odd dog bark, we didn't hear anything. Helen had left scones, clotted cream and jam for us and this along with fresh wild flowers were the special touches that make this property extra great. Would we stay there again? We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Cosy weekend

We are a young family of four, two children aged 2 & 3months. We arrived late thursday evening to a warm welcome from the owners & excellent parking space for our rather large 4x4. The 'Stables' cottage was lovely to walk into after a long drive on a horrible evening, log fire burning and so warm and cosy, great start! We were very impressed with the decor and how well thought out the cottage was, after a lovely hot power shower it was nice to crash in a comfy bed with peace and quiet. Helen had already asked our requirements for the babies and a cot bed was ready for our eldest (and high chair) and our youngest was in her own carrier. Plenty of space for the four of us and nice to sit and eat our brerakfast of 'fresh' scones and clotted cream & jam kindly layed on by the owners!! we could honestly not fault this cottage in anyway, a very high standard with lovely surroundings. Only a short journey in a car to local ammenities and also the lovely walks and beaches of St.Ives and clifftops. If you have a family and wanted a break in a cottage then we would highly recomend this one as you will not be disappointed.

Looking forward to our next break in a beautiful part of the country!!

My partner and I decided that a trip to Cornwall was the way forward for New Year to get out of the city.

We looked at several places and came across this beautiful new cottage which looked perfect for us. Cornwall's best kept secret!!

We love to surf but equally enjoy walks and relaxing so the location of this place is perfect for all of those things. St.Agnes beach is super close and you can drive to most places pretty quickly.

The property itself is lovely, lots a grassy areas within the grounds and parking right outside the door.

We stayed in the stables cottage and it is the cosiest place we have stayed in. It is super homely. You simply wont want to leave!

The decor is neutral and fresh but with retro, vintage touches which adds character. The kitchen is kitted out with everything you can think of and more, arriving to supplies of sugar, salt and pepper is awesome..the small things make all the difference! Not to mention that on arrival we were welcomed with warm homemade scones with Cornish clotted cream and homemade jam! WHAT A DREAM!

The place was very clean and tidy and the rooms were very comfortable. One bedroom is a double and the other which we didnt use on this occasion had twin beds which would be ideal for bringing friends or children. There was plenty of storage in the bedrooms for clothes and lots of natural light which is always refreshing.

The lounge area had a wood burner in the corner which added to the cosy feel in the evenings [a heap of firewood was supplied for us]. We found a good selection of DVDs, board games and books too.

A vintage dining table for four sits to the side of the lounge which is great if you are cooking meals rather than dining out.

The bathroom is contemporary and practical with a good sized shower, very important after surfing! The owners live in the house next door and had secure garage area for our surf boards which was really useful too.

Very reasonable price, a seriously good find! Cant wait to go back and think this wont stay secret for long, once people discover this little gem it is going to be very very popular!

Homeland Farm is located in a lovely rural area just outside the village of St Agnes and Mithian. St Agnes has lots of local shops and restaurants and Mithian has a lovely local pub. We are also close to Truro which is the main shopping place in Cornwall. The main reason we love the area so much is for the amazing beaches and walks which are close by. If its surfing, cliff walks, cycling or kayaking you love, then we have it all on our doorstep.
