This beautiful traditional Andalucian farmhouse sits on a hilltop, in a gorgeous countryside location, deep in the heart of what the Moors rightly called 'the Valley of Happiness' and just a couple of kilometres above the village of Restabal, which is midway between Granada to the north and the Mediterranean coast to the south. Both are an easy 30 minute drive away. Granada is a world heritage site, famous for the Alhambra palace and gardens. It is also a major cultural centre with its own symphony orchestra, theatres and cinemas and renowned for the poet Federico Garcia Lorca, who lived there. Traditional tapas bars are another major attraction. To the south lies the Costa Tropical with its beach resorts: the nearest is Salobrena with good fish restaurants and a long pebble beach. To the east lie the Alpujarra villages, renowned for their 'hippy' life styles, traditional hams and wines. The skiing resort of Sierra Nevada is an hour's drive away and open from December to April.

About the Owner

My wife Lesley and I purchased a collapsed farm house in 2005 and then proceeded to renovate it by putting in, yes, running water, heating , electricity and a pool, to mention but a few!

We have also created a garden consisting mainly of plants suitable for the climate, such as lavender and rosemary, to complement the olive trees.

The house is used by us as our main in holiday house for our family and so is a home, rather than a business.

Rental income helps to cover the overheads and maintenance costs which are quite high given the high standards we strive to maintain.

We had a fabulous holiday here with friends last summer. It was heaven!The house has the atmosphere of a family holiday home but with all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel: large pool, good mattresses, power showers,sun beds, masseuse and yoga teacher available to come to the house!The temperature is really perfect in mid July and drinks before dinner can be enjoyed on the terrace with a really wonderful view over the valley. Although it feels very rural,the house is within half an hour of Granada, so very easy for sight seeing and shopping. We will definitely be returning. Mrs Sarah Strang Steel.

My family and I spent two wonderful weeks at this special farmhouse in the hills of the Sierra Nevada. Everyone's needs were catered for: generous pool, alongside a stunning sun deck with plenty of sun beds,super comfortable beds and new ensuite bathrooms.

WIFI everywhere, large well equipped kitchen and two outdoor shaded dining areas for eating and drinking -even a large BBQ for my husband

This location is about peace, tranquillity and not being overlooked by neighbours: if you are seeking a loud, busy noisy, traficky, spot, then this is definitely not the place for you! The villa enjoys 360 views of the surrounding countryside which mainly consists of olive and orange trees. You can also enjoy the view Sierra Nevada mountains which are to the east (white capped in winter) where the main skiing resort is located. The above notwithstanding, the location is certainly not isolated: the local village is 5 minutes drive away and for major shops and cultural events, the city of Granada is but a 30 minutes drive.

This traditional Andalusian farmhouse has been recently renovated to a very high standard, to include all modern amenities. It sits atop a ridge overlooking the Lecrin Valley and has spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada mounta

Access to the property is by road, firstly on the main high speed motorway, then along well paved country roads and lastly a kilometre or so up to the villa. The villa is fully equipped with all modern amenities, including WiFi, TV, cooking ovens and BBQ. Comfort is guaranteed with easy chairs, nice beds and good showers: we have never had a disappointed client!

Three bedrooms on the first floor have en suite bathrooms ,and two bedrooms on the ground floor share a bathroom and have double doors leading onto the terraced courtyard. All bedrooms have electric ceiling fans and fly screens on all windows and doors. Cot available if required. All mattresses are new. There are fitted cupboards in all bedrooms with good hanging space and drawers. Each bedroom has its own dressing table and mirror.
