About the Owner

I moved to Devon from Hertfordshire fourteen years ago with my husband and two sons. After coming to this part of Devon on holiday for years we loved it so much we made the move. Being so close to the coast, we have enjoyed sailing and water sports. The beauty of this area is that it has everything from quiet beaches and woodland walks to bustling market towns and when the sun shines, there's no place better!

The perfect holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Waiting for us... A delicious welcome pack...goodies, wine and all the essentials we needed to avoid a supermarket shop . The barn was immaculate( and I am very fussy), it smelt fresh( Andrea welcome dogs, but I would never have known) ,comfy beds, beautiful white company bed linen and furnished so tastefully and so many thoughtful touches, I've since been in touch with Andrea as I will copy the bedding she provided and of course she was as helpful as she has been from the first communication .

The weather was just turning chilly so we welcomed the heating...very cosy, I would happily go mid winter. The barn is situated around a courtyard of a few similar converted barns, very private and we found the people there( whom we seldom saw) very friendly.

This is by far the best cottage / barn we have ever stayed in, ( here or abroad) hence the review.

We will return !!

For an excellent nearby meal, we recommend The Ship Inn at nearby Axmouth village, but book in advance!!

For walking go to Beer ( village)....short walks, long walks , all scenic.

Fantastic holiday barn

  • 5 of 5

I agree with all other reviews and could not fault anything.

The owner kept in touch with us before our arrival and also when we arrived so if there was anything that we needed just to call her. No shortage of games, DVDs, and books and have never found any other property to provide these. All information regarding every appliance in the cottage was there and a big plus from me. The property was spotless and the ease for getting out and about the area was great. I would recommend this holiday barn a must and you would not be disappointed. I would give more than 5 stars if I could and have not done this for quite sometime.

Wonderful week in beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a wonderful week at The Dairy. Holidays with a 6 month old can be hard work but Andrea made it super easy. The highchair, stair gates and travel cot were all set up and ready to use when we arrived. There is room to use the cot in both bedrooms and the beds are super comfy. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and is cosy and warm for evenings spent indoors. Lounge has plenty of room for a crawling baby!! The sun terrace would have been perfect to use once he was in bed if the weather had been a bit warmer!! The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring; there are lots of lovely towns nearby and lots of pushchair friendly strolls along the seafront. We noticed lots of places for older children so we will definitely return.

Fabulous cottage in the perfect position!

  • 5 of 5

From start to finish, the service we received from Andrea, owner of this fabulous property, was exemplary. The booking process and arrival/departure arrangements worked like a dream! We were met at The Dairy by Andrea, who showed us around the cottage and gave us information about local eateries, places of interest and suitable beaches for our excited 4 and 5 year olds! There was a fantastic welcome pack awaiting us, which included beautiful home made scones, jam, clotted cream, milk, eggs, fresh bread and a bottle of wine. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was second to none; it was extremely well equipped and everything had been thought of and provided for. The cottage was beautifully decorated and the furnishings and fixtures and fittings were of a very high quality. The beds were very comfortable; we all slept extremely well, which is usually a rarity on holidays! There was an abundance of wardrobe and storage space in the bedrooms, which was fantastic! There were toys and games provided for the children and their beds had been dressed with gorgeously appropriate bedlinen, which they adored. The Dairy was superbly positioned for us to explore much of the coastline and beautiful villages, towns and places of interest. Its courtyard setting was great; it was lovely and peaceful and safe for the children. We absolutely adored this cottage and can't wait to return; it was perfect! Can't recommend it highly enough.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We have to say as soon as we arrived at the cottage it felt like home, Andrea had made it so welcoming even down to a welcome basket on arrival. The cottage decor is to a very high standard with everything and I mean everything you would ever need and more, toys and board games for the kids, a large selection of DVD's for those movie evenings and even down to a large selection of books to suit everyone Andrea has thought of everything. This is the first cottage where we all had a great nights sleep as the beds were so comfortable.

The location is perfectly central for exploring the surrounding beaches, attractions and sights, the cottage is set on a main road please do not be put of by this you do not hear the traffic and there is a courtyard at the back of the cottage if you wished your children to play safely.

We have stayed in quite a few cottages in the past but I have to say this tops them all, the attention to detail, high standard, warm welcoming and just the fact that we were able to relax as soon as we arrived as Andrea had thought of everything.

Thank you Andrea, myself, Michael and Chloe felt completely refreshed from having such a wonderful time, we will be recommending to all our friends and family and will be definitely booking with you again. X
