This air-conditioned apartment is part of the small Han Inn Apartment complex and is in a beautiful walled garden with mature trees and a very large shared pool. There are just 7 apartments and two 2-bedroom houses to share the lovely grounds and substantial pool. It is located in Central Kalkan so car hire is not necessary. Only a two minute walk to the supermarket and many restaurants are within a very short stroll. It is located just off the Kalamar Road and a short walk to Kalamar beach. There is a large open-plan living room with lounge and dining seating plus a kitchen area. A large deep terrace helps to keep the apartment cooler in the hot season. There are two bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor which also has a large terrace with view of the sea.

About the Owner

Iggy and Jenny Gannon retired to Portugal in 2002 - having been frequent visitors to the area since 1966.

Iggy is a retired Dental surgeon whilst Jenny was a radiographer who became a Dental Practice Manager.

Iggy loves bridge, Rugby Union (Watching!) and he grows nearly all our own vegetables year round.

Jenny loves cooking - and spends a lot of time freezing and bottling produce! We both love foreign travel and have travelled much of the world. We try to incorporate comfort features from our many stays in super places so that our guests may feel at home in our apartment. We have a son and daughter who are both married - and we have two grandsons. They fly over as often as possible and we love their visits.

An oasis not to be missed

A beautiful apartment very close to the town centre, tranquil and very well equipped. Two very large double bedrooms both en suite and with balconies. A very large sitting room/kitchen with all the amenities from home. A very good welcome pack on our arrival. Outside a fantastic swimming pool that suits couples or families. Overall this apartment suits families or couples looking for a rest. The best bit is its position very close to the town centre but also very quiet.

Fantastic apartment, Great location.

Just spent 2 wonderful relaxing weeks in this fantastic apartment. Very spacious & tastefully furnished. Lots of outside space including a lovely shaded area. Set in a beautiful, secluded tropical garden with a large shared pool. Ideal location, can't wait to go back again!

Location

From the Owner

Our first visit to Kalkan in May 2013 ended up with us buying this property. We love the area, ambience, friendly people, restaurants, beaches, feeling of safety and peace! Our properties have the comforts of home whenever we can provide them and because of that, the property has had a face-lift this winter and is now ready for the new season. It is clean, comfortable and secluded. We love to be able stroll to a restaurant and not have to worry about who is driving home as the restaurants are mainly within walking distance. The small development is like a Secret Garden - many of the local people don't even know it is there! There are only 7 apartments and two small houses which share the pool so it is never necessary to save your space by the waterside!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The sea is visible from the top terrace - it is about 8-10 minutes walk. It is a shingle beach with beautiful clear turquoise sea - hence this area is called The Turquoise Coast. There is also a pretty harbour which has a large number of fantastic restaurants - many of which have roof terraces so that you can see the sea whilst dining. There are a number of other beaches close-by - they vary from 10-20 minutes drive. Patara has one of the longest beaches in Turkey - it is about 20 minutes drive.

Travel:

Dalaman is a comfortable 1 hour and 30 minutes drive away. Transfers can be arranged easily if you wish - the cost is approximately £55-60 each way. Please let us know if you wish this option.

Antalya is about 125 miles away - about 3 and a half hours drive.

Distances:

There are many tourist attractions in the area and lots of opportunities to find a tour company to arrange this for you.

Here are a few options-

Patara beach - 16 km away

Saklikent Gorge - about 60km away

Kaputas beach - about 10 minutes away by car or dolmus - local shared mini-bus. It is sandy but has a large number of steps down so be prepared.

Boat and fishing trips can be arranged from the harbour.

Further Details:

Within 2 minutes walk of the apartment, you will find small supermarkets, banks, coffee shops and restaurants. Along the road into the town are a variety of shops selling souvenirs, childrens clothes, hardware and chemists etc.The market on Thursdays is not to be missed - it covers a large area and sells almost everything from watches to Turkish delight, DVDs to clothing. Lots of opportunity to hone your bargaining skills!

A refundable deposit of £200 to cover the cost of any damage or breakages is also payable - this will be returned to your account approximately 2 weeks after the end of your holiday.

Bank details will be exchanged at time of booking or at least on leaving. Your damage refund will be returned to your account within two weeks of the end of your stay, usually within two days whenever possible.

The supermarket is a few minutes walk away, as are other shops, restaurants, banks, post office and pharmacy. The terraces are large - one is covered and deep with a swinging seat and a hammock as well as dining furniture and the upper open terrace has a little sea view but fabulous view of the mountains. There is also comfortable furniture here and a large umbrella for shade.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The property has been recently refurbished and photos have now been updated. It is ideally situated for the town - it is secluded but central so car not necessary. The gardens and pool are well maintained and there is plenty of space for lounging by the pool or in the shade of the trees. Outside: There are two main terraces - the ground floor has a large covered terrace accessible from the two sets of patio doors from the living area. There is a swing seat, a hammock and a table with four chairs. The upper terrace has a big umbrella to provide shade for the large sofa and a chaise longe. Each of the bedrooms has access to this terrace via its own patio door. There are also other chairs available. Around the pool there are also more loungers for everyone to use - there are plenty so no need to claim one with your towel! Barbecue. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen and towels are included as are beach towels. The property will be cleaned weekly and towels and linen changed at this time. Further cleaning can be arranged at extra cost if required. Other: There is ample outdoor furniture - sun-loungers, tables chairs and a large umbrella. Outside sofas, a swing seat and a hammock!
