About ALISON FISHER

Moved to Tavistock in 2012 from Bristol having worked in the NHS as a ward sister. Carl was a landscape gardener and now we have our own small business selling french sandals in the Pannier market and at some shows. Plymouth is our nearest port to travel to France which is very convenient and so easy to pop over

We are keen walkers and cyclists and are enjoying our change in lifestyle

ALISON FISHER purchased this cottage in 2003

Why ALISON FISHER chose Lizio

This cottage is a romantic little retreat and ideal for a couple or a small family. It's very rural and peaceful and an ideal spot for getting away from it all.

This property is easy to drive to from the ports and set in beautiful Breton countryside. 30 mins drive from the beaches as the summers are long and weather generally better than in England. There are many festivals in this area and Lizio is known for its 'petite cite de character' and local artists.

We love the peace and tranquillity.

What makes this cottage unique

This is real Brittany with a slow pace of life. There are many walks and love putting the fold up bikes in the car to cycle along the Nantes-Brest canal. The 2 bikes are available for visitors to use. This cottage has everything you need to enjoy your holiday including a picnic rucksack!

The cottage has a wood burner for the cool evenings with plenty of wood available at no extra cost

Well equipped cosy cottage in beautiful area, folding bikes provided.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is really well equipped, everything is clean the bed is comfy with lovely linen. The folding bikes are easy to use and put in the car. The area has great cycling routes along the canal or voie verte for ease or small roads and little villages more challenging.

The owner provided lots of information about he area which we found really useful, good places to walk, cycle, eat and visit. Coast less than an hour away

What a little gem!

  • 5 of 5

This gite is extremely homely and well equipped, complete with folding bikes (I was tempted but the weather was rather variable). It is a perfect base for touring the area. We visited Lorient, Quiberon, Vannes and La Roche Bernard, as well as lots of the villages in between, and our two dogs enjoyed many walks along the Nantes-Brest canal. I would certainly recommend it to all who want a quiet country retreat.

Our perfect holiday

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in both of Alison 's properties, both were very clean and we'll equipped with everything you could need. Both are situated in small hamlets which were quite, but there were towns not to far away.

My husband, myself and our dogs all had a wonderful time. So good in fact we have rebooked for next year.

Fabulous holiday gite

  • 5 of 5

We had a super week in this lovely gite. It was perfect for our small family of four and was spotless and extremely well equipped. The garden was lovely and we made good use of the bbq and the two bikes.

The location was brilliant and was close to lots of interesting places to visit. We thought the locals were so friendly too.

Thank you Alison, we would love to return for another holiday.

Calm and well situated countryside cottage

  • 5 of 5

At first we were a bit afraid that the location of the cottage would be too remote, as it was our first visit to the Bretagne and we had an ambitious schedule of places to visit. But it turned out that it was actually well located close to crossroads to visit the Morbihan area. Moreover, there were plenty of places in the vicinity to see (Josselin, Malestroit, the Nantes-Brest Canal - thanks for the folding bikes!). The cottage itself was superbly equipped and the cosy fireplace warmed us in the few cool evenings we had.

In summary, this cottage is perfect for a relaxing as well as for an active countryside stay.

A perfect little sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

We drove from Dundee in Scotland to the wee cottage. A long long journey but well worth it. The accommodation was perfect for the two of us. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean with everything we needed for 6 glorious days. We had one morning of rain but for the rest we enjoyed warm if not hot sunshine. Plenty pretty little towns and villages to visit. Lively places for lunch and evening meals. Local boulangeries and charcuterie. Supermarkets if needed. But best of all a sheltered garden to sit and read and eat and of course sample all the local beverages. I would recommend this beautiful wee cottage to anyone wanting a slow paced rest away from it all.
