Exactly what we were looking for to get away from it all. Warm, cosy cottage with everything that you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable.

Birch Cottage was a delightful base for our adventure in Ambleside & the Lakes. Loved the town & the countryside. No doubt we will make the trip back from Australia and come back to you.

Very peaceful, cosy cottage with spacious bathroom and loft bedroom - the elevated location provided wonderful views of Wansfell - an excellent base for our daywalking in the area.

Fantastic winter break

  • 5 of 5

Loved this cosy warm cottage. Some sunny days to hike across the fells. Some days to mooch around Ambleside shops and pubs. Then home to our home from home to play games by the fire

Will be back in spring we hope

Wonderful birthday treat :)

  • 5 of 5

I treated my husband and children to a weekend in Birch Cottage to celebrate my husband's birthday. The location of the cottage is perfect, being only a few minutes walk down hill. We could park right outside the cottage and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. It was spotlessly clean, was warm and cosy and had everything we needed. There were some really thoughtful touches such as plastic plates for our children to use and books and games to enjoy. We would definitely recommend it!
