Gite in Les Mousseaux, Creuse, Limousin, France - Tranquil Location In The Heart Of The Creuse, Sleeps 2/3 In A Beautifully Restored Property

The Gite provides wonderfully comfortable accommodation for 2 adults and has the added benefit of an extra bed for another adult or child as required. Located in a beautiful rural setting within easy walking distance of a restaurant and local shops. The area of the 3 lakes, with all it has to offer, is no more than 10km from the gite. Ideally situated for local walks, bike rides and swimming nearby. A few essentials including tea bags,sugar,coffee,a bottle of wine and fresh bread are provided to get your holiday off to a good start. Guests can also take advantage of Seasonal fruit and vegetables from our garden.

PLEASE NOTE: that we advise clients to take out personal insurance to cover against accident etc whilst staying at the property as the owners insurance does not cover personal liability.

About Doreen Whitehead

We moved here from Yorkshire in 2011 after purchasing the property the year before. We wanted a slower pace of life and as we both love the countryside this area fitted the bill, with lovely scenery on our doorstep and beautiful lakes a short distance away.

It has taken us two years to fully renovate the property which consists of 2 cottages and a barn and have tried to retain as many original features as possible. We have undertaken all the work ourselves (apart from the electrics) and became "regulars" at the local DIY store. The garden which had been untouched for years was overgrown with nettles and brambles but now features flower beds and a vegetable plot which supplies us with an abundance of fruit and vegetables

Why Doreen Whitehead chose Creuse

We wanted a peaceful location in a rural setting yet close to a small town. The surrounding area is beautiful with rolling hills, green valleys, churches and chateaux. The sunsets are amazing often producing vibrant colours followed by starry skies.

There are miles of walks along country lanes, swimming lakes with beaches, bars and restaurants

What makes this cottage unique

The property benefits from being in a small hamlet yet a couple of minutes drive away from the small town of Genouillac with all its amenities,including two boulangeries where you can pick up fresh bread,crossiants,etc.There is also a butchers,pharmacy,restaurant and post office.

The owners garden is for guests use so whether you just want to relax on one of the loungers or sit in the shade at the bottom of the garden with a good book,or watch the sun go down with a glass of wine it is all here for you.

Notes on accommodation: The property is strictly no smoking. All electric (heated towel rail in cooler months), gas and water are included. Logs and covector heating will be charged at cost in colder months (6 euros per day) No extra charge for cleaning at end of stay. The owners are on hand to deal with any queries you may have but your privacy will be respected at all times. Outside: Small patio area with table and chairs, sun-loungers available for use in large garden beyond. Barbecue available. Utility Room: Accessed through a separate entrance featuring washing machine, ironing board and iron, sink and WC Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels/linen included. Gite is cleaned once a week. Other: Travel cot, high chair, changing mat and baby bath are available on request.

25% non refundable deposit on booking, balance payable 4 weeks before arrival.
Security/Breakages deposit of £100.00 payable on arrival - returned within 14 days subject to property being left in a satisfactory condition.

Changeover Day:
Saturday/Saturday preferable but subject to availability alternate days are considered. Arrival after 15.00hrs and departure by 10.00hrs please.
