About the Owner

We were in Lowestoft for a long weekend. After seeing no 10 in the Estate agents window we went along just to have a look(no intention of buying) and we both fell for the sea views and the tranquil location. Three months later we were the proud owners of a rather run down bungalow. It has since been completely renovated.

When we bought the bungalow we had no intention of letting we kept it just for the family, but as they have got older we found we were not using no 10 as much as we should, so decided to let others enjoy it.This was four years ago and it is something we have never regretted doing. Many of our guests are coming back for the third & fourth time and we like to consider them as friends.

Very comfortable, fantastic view

  • 5 of 5

all 6 of us enjoyed a week in the bungalow, its comfy and spacious, a home away from home, we woke to a beautiful sunrise and view.

The pool is great, the online shop is ok for bits and pieces, there's a nice little pub just across the road from the site with very friendly staff.

Maggie and Noel are very helpful and a lovely couple.

I would recommend and would definitely stay there again.

  • 5 of 5

We have spent a lovely week in the bungalow. It is in a great position with lovely views. It is very clean and comfortable and really well equipped. Also close to the village where there are a couple of very good places to eat. Highly recommended by us.

Location

From the Owner

We fell in love with both Norfolk & Suffolk. Waterside is right on the borders of both. There are some fantastic blue flag beaches nearby in Lowestoft and our particular favourite Gorleston. If you wish to go further afield towards Horsey there is a remote beach with high sand dunes and hundreds of seals. Nearby attractions include Bewilderwood,Africa live & Pleasurewood Hills.

Coast/Beach:

No 10 is right on the seafront with amazing views. The nearest beach in Corton is a short walk away. The blue flag beaches of Lowestoft is approx two miles.

Gorleston beach (a favourite for lots of our guests) is a short drive approx three miles. The beaches are very wide with lovely cliff walks.

Distances:

Waterside is located in the small village of Corton which boasts two pubs. The village was once used for the workers of Colmans mustard. Colman had a mansion on the cliffs but it has long been taken by the sea. Although his gatehouse can still be seen in the village.

Further Details:

The property is situated in a very quiet holiday village two miles from Lowestoft and nine miles from Great Yarmouth. The site is serviced by a regular bus service to both town.

It is a great base for exploring both Suffolk & Norfolk as it is on the border of both. Plenty of things to do for both adults and children. Up the road is the wonderful Sommerlayton Hall and Pleasurewood Hills is about a mile away plus Africa Live and Bewilderwood are a short drive away.

The East Anglia region

Suffolk is a county of historic origin in East Anglia, England. It has borders with Norfolk to the north, Cambridgeshire to the west and Essex to the south. The North Sea lies to the east.

The county is low-lying with few hills, and is largely wetland habitat and arable land with the wetlands of The Broads in the North. The Suffolk Coast and Heaths are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Lowestoft

On site you can take advantage of the friendly atmosphere of the club house with panoramic views of the sea. If cooking is not for you, the club house serves meals daily, in addition the village has 2 pubs and various take away restaurants within walking distance of the bungalow. The famous Norfolk Broads is right on our doorstep with its diverse wildlife and boating facilities.

Corton is a coastal village in Suffolk, located a few miles to the North of Lowestoft. Corton's beaches are located along the base of a line of cliffs. The cliffs at Corton have been an important source of fossil remains and geological information.

When in Corton, you can visit the scenic Norfolk Broads, the diverse coastal resort of Lowestoft and great Yarmouth, the varied wildlife, picturesque villages and market towns, various National trust and English Heritage properties nearby, the historic city of Norwich with its Cathedral, castle, museums and shops just a short drive away.
